The 2015 Texas Firearms Festival is just 60 days away. In a little over eight weeks, on November 14 and 15, thousands of firearms enthusiasts will gather at Best of the West Shooting Sports in Liberty Hill. They’ll shoot firearms from over a dozen top manufacturers: FN, SIG SAUER, IWI, Daniel Defense, Walther, Republic Forge, PWS, Henry Repeating Rifles and many, many more. They’ll shop at The Range in Austin Retail Village, checking out products and services from over 50 exhibitors: DSG Arms, DPX Gear Inc, Kangaroo Carry, Dead Goose Society, Bond Arms, Pipe Hitters Union, Trophy Tools, Fighter Design and more. They’ll sample Austin’s finest food truck cuisine. Who wouldn’t click here, buy a ticket and go? Someone who hadn’t heard about it! Which is why . . .

the 2015 Texas Firearms Festival is promoting the event via vigorous print, radio, billboards, and social media campaigns. “It’s our second year. We’re ramping-up our marketing big style,” says Texas Firearms Festival COO Lee Johnson. “We’ve got discount vouchers at gun stores, product giveaways on Instagram, ads on gun websites, flyers at gun shows – we’re doing everything we can to get the word out.”

Johnson reckons the Festival’s marketing blitz guarantees a sell-out crowd. “Last year, we sold over 2000 shooter tickets, pretty much by word-of-mouth. Ninety percent of those ticket buyers said Hell yes! We’ll be back next year! . . . To keep line lengths down, to make sure everyone shoots LOTS of guns, we’re limiting tickets to 3000 shooters over two days. We’re completely confident we’ll have a full house.”

And then some. The numbers don’t include new-for-2015 Non-Shooter tickets. Or new-for-2015 free admission for children seven and under. “Last year, ticket holders told us they didn’t want to pay full whack for their non-shooting significant other. They also wished they could’ve brought the kids along, to let them share in the fun and save the cost of a babysitter. Done!”

Articles about the Texas Firearms Festival on The Truth About Guns website – with its 2.1m unique monthly visitors – helped drive sales last year. For 2015, Johnson cut a deal with TTAG for a large number of sponsored posts. “TTAG has over 100k readers in The Lone Star State,” Johnson says, “and plenty of ‘love guns, will travel’ readers throughout the U.S. We’re delighted to work them again this year.”

“No matter how you slice it, we’re getting it done,” Johnson opines. “We sold nearly a thousands tickets already. That’s about a thousand tickets more than we sold this time last year. For 2015, the Texas Firearms Festival is gonna go big and we’re already home.”

  1. Are we going to have Cimmaron this year? I’m thinking about a BBQ gun and leather possibility for after Jan 1.

  2. I’m having difficulty buying a ticket from “eventbrite”. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make it work?
