In what might have been his last major grandstanding event concerning gun control, President Joe Biden on December 14 used the 12th anniversary of the horrible mass murder at Sandy Hook High School in Connecticut to brag about his few anti-gun accomplishments and call for more restrictive firearms laws.

“With the strength of this emboldened movement by our side, we have made historic progress to reduce gun violence over the past four years,” Biden said at the press conference, where he outlined what he called the administration’s “accomplishments.”

Among those, of course, was the creation of the first White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, a farce of a federal office whose name is even based on a core fallacy that when criminals used lawfully produced, legally sold firearms for illegal means, what results is “gun violence,” not criminal violence. That allows Biden and other soft-on-crime Democrats to continue to coddle criminals while blaming the gun and lawful gun owners for the country’s criminal violence problems.

It’s likely—and we can certainly all hope—that the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention isn’t long for this world with President Donald Trump moving back into the White House. Many observers speculate that one of President Trump’s first actions might be to immediately close the office.

Other  Biden “accomplishments,” namely the multiple executive orders he put into place concerning everything from redefining what was a “firearm” to changing the definition of who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms, are also likely on the way out soon. Not only have several of those actions already been found to be unconstitutional, but President Trump can undo them just as fast as Biden executed them.

That leaves what Biden considers his one crowning accomplishment concerning gun control—passage of the so-called Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA)—which some turncoat Republicans supported and allowed to become law. Since then, the Justice Department has worked to put some ill-thought-out provisions of that law into effect, in the process making no one safer but life more inconvenient for lawful gun owners.

With Republicans retaining control of the U.S. House of Representatives and gaining control of the U.S. Senate in last month’s elections, that law might also be on the way out. In fact, if pro-gun groups get their way, Congress next year will not only be working to get rid of some of America’s restrictive gun laws but also put more laws into place that protect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners.

Not only does Biden not seem to be aware that his legacy of gun control as president is nearly nonexistent—thanks to pro-gun groups and gun owners around the country—but he also doesn’t seem to understand that most of the “accomplishments” he did make will soon be relegated to the dustbin of history.

With that in mind, he made one more plea for Congress to “do something,” even as his own party put forth such a bad candidate for president that the Democrats managed to lose the Senate, too.

“Congress has an obligation to ‘do something’ in order to protect our children and communities from this scourge of gun violence,” the president said.

To that, we can only reply with what we are all looking forward to saying on January 20 of next year: “Don’t let the door hit you in the ass.”

      • Debbie is on our side. And her claim that gun control has the history that it does is NOT WRONG. Respect that. Move on.

Why do we waste so much time and effort fighting each other? This is how we lose our rights; we fight each other over stupid and foolish disagreements on semantics. All the while, the other side just keeps making more and more unconstitutional laws.

Stop it. Direct your ire toward somebody who is hurting our gun rights. You pretty much have your pick of the usual suspects.

And if you’re not in the US, as your grammar might hint at, then I suggest you direct your energies toward your own country’s anti-self-defense practices.

Pick your battles, and only fight those that will actually MATTER. Anything else is a waste of your time and effort.

  2. Congress ain’t doing shit. There are too many Rinos, establishment types, spineless jellyfish, etc to get anything pro gun passed. The margins are so slim that it is almost impossible to get anything good

    • We have to stay on their cases. Write. If you have other voters living with or near you, have them write too. It’s not hard.

Also, bear in mind that the gun rights organizations all will begin a new year in just a few more days. On December 25th, I like to donate to my charitable choices.

On January 1st, I like to make my donations to SAF, FPC, GOA, and about 4 other choices. Work on that, because when one or more of those organizations brings a case before SCOTUS, it brings more attention to the issue(s) at hand than a thousand emails to our congress-animals.

Just about the only org I don’t support is NRA/ILA. I need to see more results from them. More suits, more appearances before Congress and the Supreme Court, and more WINS. My donations are performance-based, and I’m still angry with Ted Nugent and others for serving on the Board and doing not a damned thing while they were there. I think Ted is mellowing in his old age, lol.

Yes, Congress sucks out loud. But that doesn’t mean we can’t show them the way to water. They just need to see with their own eyes that an anti-2A platform can lose elections.

And don’t forget that any discussion about Congress must include Santa’s list of the naughty…that is, those Congress Critters who should be shown a really hard fight for their next primary election.

Make it a pain in the arse, and some politicians will learn. They just occasionally need the human equivalent of having their nose swatted with the newspaper.

    • He was able to raid the treasury which was the main point of his presidency from the beginning. A select few people became even wealthier as a result. This continues to work for Dems as they promote envy politics. Then they’ll come into power again. Rinse and repeat.

    • I heard a segment this AM on NPR about how his big legacy moves, CHIPS and the IRA, were nothing more than corporate welfare that won’t amount to anything beyond a taxpayer grift.
I considered it a late Christmas gift and was floored NPR ran it.

      • They’ve decided to practice a little journalism while no one is paying attention during the Christmas holiday season long after Biden quit pretending to be a relevant figure head. They’re warming up for #Resistance, the sequel, Mandarin Mussolini Still Bad.

WSJ just ran an article about the WH coverup of the Puppet’s senility. Why wasn’t that written at the beginning of the year when Biden said he was running for president? Why wasn’t it written a week after he was sworn in? These people are a joke.

  3. Joe Biden was in politics for 50 years and also president and yet, he failed to do ANYTHING to make American citizens lives better. During his presidency he has spent 50% of his time on vacation. When he was a Senator, retirement Social Security was not taxed until Biden was instrumental in initiating a SS tax. This man has been detriment to America his entire life. Jan 20th can’t come fast enough.

    • Despite all of the obvious signs (for decades!) of incompetency or even maliciousness, about half of the country was gullible enough to support his presidential candidacy in 2020. Furthermore, an amazing number of people didn’t even realize that he was senile until his debate with Trump this year! These clueless people are more responsible for the dire state of the country than politicians.

      • Oh they saw it and knew. The problem is democrats are controlled by their emotions and will overlook the obvious as long as the person in question is saying the right words and supporting the things they want. This was again proven to be true by their support for cackling Kamala who may well be less coherent and competent than Biden.

  4. Hey democrats… ya wanna know what the almost $2 billion Kamala spent on her campaign paid for? It was this > h ttps://x.com/OmNomNomPL/status/1871968272457027646

  5. BSCA passed because there are so-called conservatives like John Cornyn who think they are accomplishing something noble by appearing “bipartisan.” There are no Democrat equivalents when it comes to making life better/easier for gun owners.

    • Cornyn, Thune, and Scott were terrible choices. Every one of them has done SOMETHING anti-2A in nature in their career.

We need to write to POTUS after inauguration and let him know that we don’t support them. I already told him, but we need a critical mass of writers for him to realize what’s happening when the US Senate starts dragging its feet on confirmations of Cabinet members, federal judges, and cooperation with the Executive branch.
