Beverly Hills Guns

In Beverly Hills, even the purchase of a firearm comes with certain…expectations. The city’s only gun store, Beverly Hills Guns, is a “concierge service” by appointment only, for a largely affluent clientele. And business is booming.

Since opening in July 2020, the store has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following several high-profile smash-and-grab and violent home invasion robberies. The apparent siege has brought in a daily stream of anxious business owners and prominent actors, real estate moguls and film execs, says owner Russell Stuart. Most are arming themselves for the first time.

“This morning I sold six shotguns in about an hour to people that say, ‘I want a home defense shotgun,’” says Stuart, whose store is discreetly located in a Beverly Hills office building, with no sign on the doors, down the hall from a diamond dealer. “Everyone has a general sense of constant fear, which is very sad. We’re used to this being like Mayberry.”

That fear has the wealthiest of local gentry contemplating [ever] more elaborate security measures: armored luxury cars, safe rooms and bullet-proof glass in their homes. One client asked about creating the “Tony Stark-level” security of a half-dozen automated drones to hover over his house, says Stuart, whose gun store is part of his larger security company, Force Protective Agency. “If you want the Gucci package, it’s going to cost money.”

    • They ran out of cold guns early.

Alec Baldwin: “I didn’t pull the trigger. Stand right there and I’ll show you what happened.”

      • I read in the news somewhere that he had actually cocked the hammer, and that when they were done doing whatever it was that they were doing, he took his thumb off the hammer “and the gun fired.” Maybe he should have (a) decocked the gun or (b) at least taken his finger off the trigger first. A SAA has a very light trigger pull, and he most likely pulled it when he cocked the gun.

    • This place is upscale, alright.
They have an excellent discussion of the California process and rules to buy a gun on their website.
      It is quite convoluted.
The fee to accept a transfer of a gun bought online is $175
The fee to buy ammo or order it online is $75.
When you are selling to the rich, money is no object.

      • And the actor holding a gun on the main page has his finger on the trigger of a cocked revolver, like a mentally-ill demented internet troll would do.

        That’s a famous 60s-era movie star, but I can’t recall the name…

  1. Well that explains some of the ammo shortage.
The elites, oh those people that thinks it’s all fine and dandy until it happens to them.
    Fck Bill Maher.

  2. Everybody, not just the ‘elites’, are buying guns.

We’ve had a taste of the kind of country the fascists like dacian and miner49er want to create. That should scare any sane person.

    • Totally agree, jwm, but . . . we’re not trying to tell THEM when/how/why/what gunms they can buy. It’s more the blatant hypocrisy that I think most of us are reacting to. Having lived/worked in that environment for decades, I can guar-an-f***ing-tee you that every hypocritical s***weasel in Hollywood who bought a gun in the last year has a long history of having contributed to and publicly supported Bloomberg and the other gun-grabbers. The difference is, I recognize and support their right to support who/what ever they want . . . it’d be nice if they’d extend the same courtesy to me. And, I reserve the absolute right to criticize/mock what they do, and they should feel free to criticize/mock me . . . and I give exactly zero s***s what they have to say.

      • I think I wouldn’t go watch their movies if the mocked me.
Let think , ahhh yes, it was Mary Poppins, my sister and myself were treated to the theater by Aunt (ant, that’s how I say it) Mary.
It was actually a bad experience, Aunt Mary was a prude and didnt have any children of her own, after an hour her patience grew thin with children. Worked house keeping for a Catholic Monastery. Monsignor Gunning( fitting name) would shoot pigeons off the steeple with his shotgunm. Us children were on the play ground one day when the cops showed up and preferred that they’d rather he didn’t do that.

  3. I remember during the Rodney King riots the elite were calling gun stores and begging to be sold one and not having endure the waiting period. Typical elites; wanted the rules changed or ignored for them. A gun store owner told them, “Sorry, but the policies you support prevent my selling one to you without the waiting period you demanded.”

  4. Who is surprised? Not I. People with any semblence of intelligence are buying a gun for self defense.

  5. The smart thing to do is stop voting for leftist. The second smart thing is buy a gun. They should concentrate on the first since they already did the second

    • Yes, the smart thing would be to ask yourself how we got here and how can we reverse this trend. These people are such brainwashed ideologues and partisans that they would rather drive tanks and have security drones than elect a law and order candidate.

“whose store is discreetly located in a Beverly Hills office building, with no sign on the doors”
The gun store even has to hide in shame.

Notice the article never said why this was happening. They made the usual propagandist effort to go out of their way to disassociate any violence from BLM. Riots and violence merely exist because they do. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes there’s a riot. Sometimes your watch gets stolen while you’re dining out.

        • It’s a smart move on the store’s part, other businesses and service providers like doctors probably have their businesses on the same floor of that building, and only negative things would happen to them if some Karen told everyone she knows on FakeBook “There’s an evil gun store next to my chiropractor’s office, let’s organize a protest”.

I honestly have zero problem with the business ‘flying under the radar’, so to speak…

  6. You can call them whatever you want to I don’t care. But the Black Panther Party for self-defense was absolutely correct. The open carry of long guns provided protection to the Oakland neighborhoods.

And when you open carry guns you don’t have to shoot anybody. Unless you get three people stupid enough, to try to take your gun away from you. Like they tried, failed, and died, in Kenosha Wisconsin.

But you can’t open carry in California. Because of Democrats passed laws making it legal to open carry guns. Now only the police and military are allowed to open carry long guns in the state of California. Unless you’re hunting and that means you’re far far away, from the major metropolitan areas of the state.

    • “But you can’t open carry in California. Because of Democrats passed laws making it legal to open carry guns“

Interesting fact, it was actually Republican governor Ronald Reagan who signed that bill into law… Thanks Saint Ronnie!

      • Yes, MinorIQ, there are stupid/pandering politicians of BOTH ideologies. And water is wet. The sun rises in the East. And you are a moron.

Any other “news” we should consider????? Did you have an actual point, or were you just engaging in intellectual onanism???

Oh, and get on with that effort to micturate up a cable.

      • False. Reagan signed a bill making it illegal to open carry a LOADED firearm. The carrying of unloaded handguns was outlawed in 2013, and long guns a year or so later. (Thanks Jerry Brown.) The only legal way to carry a firearm is (a) concealed and with a CCW, (b) in unincorporated areas of the state, (c) on your own fenced property or with the permission of the owner of that property, or (d) in your own home or business. Meanwhile, the Ninth Circuit ruled that there is no right to a CCW (it is a privilege granted by the State) and in fact no right at all to carry firearms off of your own property. Carrying firearms off your property is therefore also a privilege granted by state laws.

There is lots of blame to go around.

        • Mark N, Regret to inform you that the 9th Circuit was OVER RULED by the Heller and McDonald decisions.

  7. The liberal elite have always been in favor of the elite having guns for their own protection, it’s the idea of everyone *else* having them that horrifies them.

    • Of course our “betters” want gunz. Like slave owner’s in the antibellum south you can’t have those dregs of society getting their grubby paws on you. I don’t fault rich jerks being armed. But when you support & vote for every evil under the sun you deserve the mayhem that follows…

    • A very real, “unintended” consequence of Bidenflation will be that “affordable” guns will be less so. I quietly wonder to what extent that was considered a feature, not a bug, of Bidenflation.

Biden’s horrendous economic policies will ultimately prevent more people from acquiring guns than any “gun control” legislation he could possibly get passed.

      • The rate of inflation in the mid-70s was more than double what it is now. Not saying that the current circumstances are a good thing, but it could be a lot worse.

        • doesky2 You are expecting a Lefty to pay attention to the differences between today and the 70′? It’s not in their interest.

    • I have an inside source which tells me that black-powder muzzlerloaders (which are not “firearms” under federal law and therefore legal to own after felony convictions) are flying off the shelves in that Hollywood, California gun store!

      • “inside source“ “flying off the shelves”

“CA does not allow felons to posses even black powder firearms“

Nothing but lies from these right wingers, no surprises here.

        • MinorIQ,

That cable isn’t going to micturate up itself. And the “right wingers” under your bed will still be there tonight. You create them in your own . . . mind??????? Observation and thought are the friends of the intellectually curious . . . and the kryptonite of the fascist Left.

        • Dunno about Cali but NY bans felons from possession of black powder, shot, and firearms. Additionally while anyone else can order a black powder revolver and have it shipped to their doo, the moment they own shot or powder for it they need to apply to have it added to their pistol permit. NYC is a bit nuttier.

        • Miner49er And just what is a lie? That California has a very high gun crime rate? Get real.

    • Be interesting to see how it changes the typical tv shows. Doubt it will be included much because of agendas but firearms are getting popular enough that it may be profitable for some media outside of typical hollywood/cop dramas. With that said not looking forward to Keeping up with Khar(dashains).

      • SAFEupstateFML,

Be interesting to see how it changes the typical tv shows.

Up to this point television shows on very rare occasions include armed citizens and those shows always portray armed citizens in one of two ways:

        1) Blundering idiot who shoots himself, a bystander, or an innocent person who he/she mistakenly believes is a violent criminal. (A similar variation is the blundering idiot shoots an actual criminal for a minor offense that does not legally justify using deadly force.)

        2) Bitter-clinger who raises his fist as he shoots at law enforcement officers–of course he misses and crack-shot law enforcement officers promptly shoot and kill him.

What we might see in a television show is a Hollywood Elitist deploying a firearm with exceptional skill, accuracy, and effectiveness while some schmo continues to be a blundering idiot who shoots himself, a bystander, or an innocent person mistaken for a criminal attacker.

        • So Hollywood to TV because that is brining in the viewers lately. Eh can hope for better but you are likely right.

        • “Blundering idiot who shoots himself“

Let me brighten your day by introducing you to a series of Hollywood movies, featuring Charles Bronson, showcasing an average citizens armed response to extreme violence.

          ‘Death Wish 1-n… ‘

        • Miner not often I agree with you but yes excellent movie/franchise. Seem to remember he was a veteran in the films but eerie watching them last year and just noticing it’s essentially present day without cell phones Glocks or police able to do their jobs. Death Wish is an improvement in short.

      • They’ve treated gun owners with disdain and contempt for 4 decades. Or made them parodies. Option 3 is the gun exudes a “miasma of evil” that infects and warps those within it’s vicinity.

  8. Since opening in July 2020, the store has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following several high-profile smash-and-grab and violent home invasion robberies.

As they say, “Reality is a harsh mistress.”

  9. They won’t change their voting patterns. They have the money to buy firearms, private security, armored cars, and to bribe officials for concealed carry permits. California is now the Third World, with a tiny wealthy elite, and masses of poor people. If anything, it’s going to get worse. The Third Worldization of the country is in earlier stages in other cities, but it will proceed at a faster pace, no matter who wins elections. The US elite has more in common with the upper crest worthies around the globe than with a poor American who lives thirty miles away.

Anyone with an IQ above room temperature would have exited the communist s*holes years ago.

  10. These people buying these guns taking ably security still fully support any and all gun control. I bet most of these rich people living in Beverly Hills even after buying a gun to protect themselves still support a complete and total ban of all gun ownership with the deployment of the entire United States military to be used to confiscate every single gun and literally kill the entire population of the United States that does not give up there guns.

After all to them we are not rich and important with the correct political opinions like they are and have

  11. Pray for the pets, gardeners, cooks and housecleaners of these jumpy, sheltered and childish limousine libs.

    • Muffy: “Biff! I hear a prowler outside!”

      Biff: “I’ll get the AR-16!” * BANG * BANG * BANG * BANG *

Muffy: “Biff! You shot the gardener and the maid!”

Biff: “No problem. I’ve got Shyster LLC on retainer, and there’s a lot more when they came from.”

  12. Sheriff Bart went with the Gucci package. No better endorsement than that. ‘Excuse me while I whip this out.’

  13. I laughed at the moron who inquired about “next-level” security ala Tony Stark (the fictional technology wizard who makes and operates the Iron Man suit).

I almost feel sorry for those Hollywood Elitists. They live in a world immersed in fantasy (television and movies) where quite literally everything is possible. Adding to their delusional world view, they have obscene amounts of money which puts almost everything that is actually possible in the real world within their grasp.

Is it any wonder that Hollywood Elitists conduct themselves as they do?

  14. This is soooo unfortunate. The Hollywood elite should experience the same fate they desire for the rest of us. Anything else would be undemocratic.

  15. Keep in mind that some probably significant percentage of those new purchases are going to BLM, AntiFa, and similar groups as they gear up. The billionaires are funding their private armies….probably don’t realize they will be a target when the time comes for their “final solution”.
