Brooklyn College’s woke president has banned campus police from carrying guns and during a recent active shooter threat the school was forced to call for help from other CUNY schools which still allow armed patrols.
Top administrator Michelle Anderson, formerly a Yale Law school professor who specialized in rape law, yanked the Glock-19 pistols from peace officers on the Flatbush-Midwood campus in early October last year after a school official said she was ‘triggered’ by the sight of a female campus security officer wearing a firearm.
‘It is all somewhat ironic because this woman peace officer had been personally authorized to carry her Glock on school grounds by Anderson herself several years ago,’ a source told DailyMail.com.
On February 3, the school issued an ‘active shooter’ threat and at least 10 peace officers from five other institutions were called to respond to the shooting while on-campus security were dispatched to collect their locked up guns from lockers.
While the threat was not acted on, the new edict raises questions of how the school can ensure the safety of students on campus in a city where gun crime has risen 30 percent year-on-year, according to the latest NYPD crime statistics released on Wednesday.
In Brooklyn south alone, where the college is located, gun crimes have risen a staggering 111.1 percent year-on-year.

Nothing unusual here. Everyone (in a free state) has the choice to either carry a weapon or call on others who do when a one is needed. Most choose the latter. Of course most people do have the sense not to disarm the people they intend to call.
Those of us in treasonous states have the same choice as everyone else, and many choose to carry anyway.
I’ve had three LEOs tell me – within the past few weeks alone – that they recommend carrying even without a CCW permit (which are nigh impossible to get here in L.A. County, regardless of what lying Villanueva tells the press). They said (1) most LEOs here recognize the difference between a thug and a family man, and (2) even if you get caught by an unreasonable LEO who wants to arrest, it’s only a misdemeanor. The chances of being caught are practically nil, but at least you’d have the ability to protect yourself and live to tell the jury your side of the story.
And you trust these cops??? Never had a cop tell me THAT(I’ve known a bunch in 67 years). It helps to be an OFWG. My 71 year buddy worries about that. He shouldn’t. I always carry a knife & pepper gel even if I don’t have a gat on me…
Errrr, uhhhh, cops do tell you some strange things. Big city, heavy traffic at rush hour, and an impossible corner to make with an illegally parked (expensive) vehicle on the corner, I was stuck. Cop came along, asked me “what’s the problem?” I explain. He says “I don’t see an illegally parked car on the corner. You have one minute to put your truck in gear, make that turn, and get the hell out of here!”
I ran the car over, and never looked back. Literally, trailer tandems crushed the engine compartment when they rolled over the car.

Hmmm a similairy parked car in Seatte a few years ag, decent looking ride, had parked ON a corner, farily narrow streets, and I had to make a turn wiht a 48 foot dryvan. Nuther time up in Vancouver BC I had to make a stop to pick up some parts (I was in my LandRover that time) I grabbed the end spot at the corner, backing up wo within four inches of the car poarked beind me. My bumper was right AT the corner, maybe two feet back. Came back and some clown had parked a Crown Vic within two inches of my FRONT bumper. I now had six inches space to wriggle my longbase LandRover out of the poarked cars and be off. It was five mnutes to four PM< when the coppers gather to plaster tow tickets on the cars parked where we were, to open up another lane for trafic.. No driver in sight, I checked , our bumpers matched height, so I simply put the LandROver in four wheel low, slipped the clutch, and pushed that Crown Vic halfway into the intersection. I left. No clue what followed. I'm sure Mr. Crown Vic was scratching his head as to HOW his car ended up right in the middle of the intersection. Maybe he figured it out. Maybe he develpoed a coule more manners. DOnt know don't care.

I still say…organizations have the right to be as stupid as they wish. BUT I want a law that requires an organization, property etc that bans citizens right for self defense to be required to provide $10,000 payment to any citizen who was barred from defending themselves on the property.
SO if after say a violent crime, citizens can come to the management and identify themselves the liability insurance provider will cut a check for 10K to each person within 7 business days of the claim. The payment will not effect any future damage payments.
SO lets say You have a facility or what not and there is a robbery (say a mall with a smash and grab or other violent incident) after the incident is over 30 or 40 people identify themselves and the insurance provider will pay 300 or 400 grand in claims along with whatever else comes out.
A college or school or mall or store…will quickly discover that the insurance provider sets their business model.
When her campus police were rightfully allowed to carry guns, in an emergency situation they could intervene and perhaps save lives but since the “woke” college president was “triggered” and she disarmed her campus police, they now have to call the police to do the job that they are paid to do. I complain to Brooklyn College President, and I don’t understand how far some people can go with their “passion” for guns.
