The gun twirling-related carnage continues. Who knew that our first post mentioning the dangers of gun twirling would lead to this tragedy, wherein Nebraska resident Chance Paap twirled a .45-caliber pistol until he [somehow] pulled the trigger and killed his friend Nathan Kuhn (whom he stuffed into a closet). And then there was this one just two days ago, when Texas twirler Matthew C. Richie shot himself in the face. And today, wpxi.com reports that Pennsylvania twirler and bartender John Popinski also managed to unleash a self-inflicted head-shot. I think it’s safe to say that gun twirling is a skill best practiced with an unloaded gun. Or, alternatively, not at all.
I don’t understand why anyone would want to twirl a gun away. They should just buy a baton.
For Darwin’s sake, I can only hope that none of these morons have procreated.
These shootings are kind of on par with “Chainsaw Juggler Loses Hand In Mishap.” What the hell do they think is going to happen?
There are some very nice non-firing prop guns (I have a nice Colt Peacemaker one I got in an antique store) that one can get for $60-80 bucks on Amazon (maybe even less elsewhere). If you want to practice twirling, that’s the best way to go. The only way you can get hurt is if you drop it on your foot, or you’re an idiot and do it outdoors and get shot by a cop.
We have plenty of youth. What we need is a fountain of smart.

As far as Matthew C. Richie goes, he was not twirling a gun., his so called friend shot him point blank in the face with a loaded 45. A drunken soldier(former soldier shot him) now my son, thank God has survived but it took out his carotid artery and caused him to have a massive stroke. The other guy, Denver Lee Rearick 27, has been indicted on 1st degree assault.
