When Ms. Reeves ran across Ralph Goss slithering around inside her home yesterday in the middle of the afternoon, she drew her firearm. Staring down that barrel was enough to change Goss’s mind about whatever it was he had planned.
“I’m one of those people that can go from zero to a hundred in 2.5 seconds and I’m not a nice person normally, but as soon as I got on the phone with the sheriff’s department he was out of sight. The severity of it hit me, and I was in hysterics. I was crying, I was scared, I was very shaken.”
Oconee County deputies tracked Goss down within hours of Ms. Reeves’ call. And surprise! He already had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Catch and release …not just for black thugs…white thugs, too….SMH

Remember, we have a legal right to use “reasonable force” to defend ourselves. Whether or not an attacker survives or dies as a consequence of our legal use of “reasonable force” is out of our control.
What we do NOT have a legal right to do is summarily execute strangers in our homes.

There is a price paid when a homeowner shoots an intruder. There is second guessing, the physical mess, police questions, the perps family. Blaming the homeowner, insurance, the press the neighbors asking questions. Worse of all is being along in the house and jumping at an odd noise. The lack of sleep and the nightmares.
It’s easy to say “Shoot them dead” as the one saying it doesn’t have to live with the resulting trauma.
Thx God she home carries, if she had to run to her vault, remember the right combination, pull the gun out, find the mags and load them up,…..she’d probably end up dead while the perpetrator ends up armed with new handgun (taken from the victim who desperately tried to load it up)…and yet, the government still wants to see its citizenry fully disarmed.
You missed a few steps.
Run to the safe your ammunition is stored in. (As required by local laws.)
Spin the dial and open the safe.
Retrieve ammunition.
Load ammunition into gun(s) or magazines.
Deal with intruder in a lawful manner.
(NOTE – Consult beforehand with a qualified attorney as to what ‘lawful manner’ means in your jurisdiction…)

In the “civilized” countries we’re told to emulate, she would’ve been raped/beaten and robbed, and *then* called the police to report it…if she lived through it. I bet she would’ve felt a lot better about herself if she hadn’t protected herself.

SC is a mixed bag when it comes to RKBA, it looks good on paper but the reality is quite different. Search the name Leandus Pickens in SC. Home invasions are becoming cash lotteries for surviving fambly members of criminals, and a flurry of anti gun legislation is percolating in SC since the Dylann Roof church shooting.
It doesnt end when the DA says there will be no charges, your civil court journey just begins. And the leftists are demanding the NRA quit offering self defense insurance to pay for attorneys, they call it “Murder Insurance.”
Of course they call it murder insurance, after all if the true victim of the criminal is all lawyered up, how can they bully that victim into handing over their entire life savings to the family of the criminal who forced them to kill him?
I use Law Shield myself, since I don’t have to front the money and wait for reimbursement from the NRA version of the insurance.
Does the NRA even offer it any more after its carrier decided to exit the field and its broker quit to avoid bad publicity?
Anyway, I think it is the height of hypocrisy for liberals to demand that gun owners carry liability coverage if they have a CCW, but then describe the resulting policies as “murder insurance.” [Some California counties demanded that as a condition of issuance of a license, the applicant provide a certificate of insurance for $1 M naming the Sheriff as an additional insured, despite the fact that the Sheriff is absolutely immune by statute for its decision to issue.]
So maybe that’s the game: you have to have insurance, but no one sells it, so you can’t have a license to carry.

The people who would suggest I have no right to what amounts to prepaid legal defense in such a situation can hop and go F themselves.
If some ambulance chaser (or would that be coroner’s van chaser in a case like this) can come after me on behalf of a criminals family for no retainer and a portion of a settlement, then I should be able to have my own legal representation. How I paid for it is of no matter.

According to the story, she told the perp in court, “You came within 2.5 seconds of having a full clip unloaded into your skull.” So there’s your rate of fire.
Judging from the picture, I’m thinking maybe Goss’ family tree has a few branches that merged somewhere.

He looks like an okay guy to me and a person’s got the right to slither where ever they want. His warrants are !!outstanding!! too, it’s not like they were just regular warrants, that should count for something
First of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support. Also thank you to The Truth about Guns for getting the story out there. I think it is important for people to know that in that type of situation you would much rather be armed than not. Yes it was a scary situation at the moment, but it was also very empowering to know that I can handle myself in a situation where my life is in danger and know exactly what to do. I’m also incredibly grateful that my gun was not locked into a safe because as stated in previous comments I most definitely would have been brutally beaten and probably raped as this person does have a history of that on his record. Praising God today and everyday for Clear thoughts, Swift movements and the strength to confront someone who was literally blocking my only exit. It was very much a fight or flight incident except flight was not an option

I’m not a doctor but I play one on the internet and after consultation with my associates we are in unanimous agreement that an immediate injection of “copper-jacketed lead” is the only known and sure cure for the disease that is Ralph Goss
