“I walked out into the street to see what was going on, there was a man lying in the street,” the witness said. “I assume he was dead because he wasn’t moving.”

The witness tells us the shooting started before police arrived.

“This was not a come at police shooting,” the witness said. “There were men out here shooting at each other before police ever got here.”

  1. “”The witness tells us the shooting started before police arrived.
“This was not a come at police shooting,” the witness said. “There were men out here shooting at each other before police ever got here.””

Or this was a staged incident to draw in the police so that they would have many targets.

    • Add to that the fact that BLM has been protesting in that exact location every day since Alton Sterling… Just sayin’ it’d be one hell of a coincidence

    • Didn’t that exact situation happen the other day, in Georgia or something? Guy in an apartment balcony starts shooting a rifle, then shoots down at responding officers before getting deep sixed?

    • Right because if the Michael Brown shooting taught us one thing it’s that witnesses in the hood always tell the truth… You know the kinds of whitnesses for whom “hands up” can totally mean he same thing as charging like an NFL linebacker.

      • Several news sites are reporting this morning that it was looking like an “ambush style attack.” Still under investigation, but looks like Long may well have ‘baited’ the police response.

  2. Or there was just one guy like in Dallas. Another 12 hours before we have enough information to piece together the actual events.

    • They wear soft Level II or Level IIIA body armor. A rifle round will go straight through both. Level III armor doesn’t come out until this kind of a threat shows up, and by that time, somebody is probably already dead.

      • Correct. As a cop on a beat, I would definitely be finding a way to run plates. mutli-hit capable ones.

        • Look at these, Jon. Remember also that NIJ IV does not test against M193 5.56.

They’re called Patriot Plate 2. There has been a Go-Fund-Me set up to but sets with carriers for individual LEO. There will be a set going to an officer with the Sheboygan PD as soon as the order comes in.

      • The soft vests police use minimally cover the chest and upper belly, at usually IIIA level max, but not usually the side. Any plate armor is minimal, and only brings it usually up to III level.

So, shots to the head, legs and arms or lower belly area, or a shot to the side, where there is little to no armor, will all allow pistol caliber rounds to incapacitate or kill.

Anything more powerful will defeat standard issue armor.

Most SWAT and other special teams have been moving, in the last few years, to level IV, but usually without groin, shoulder or neck protection. And SWAT and other special teams are like calling 911. When you need them, they are minutes to hours away.

Does anyone find it coincidental that the Black Panthers just set up a chapter in Baton Rouge the day before these shootings?`

  3. The Tennessee shooting was just a shooting that eventually involved the responding LEOs.
I’ll wait until the facts come out on this one.

That said, if you randomly kill a BR police officer, do you leave the world a better place than you found it? Your odds are clearly better than they would be in Dallas, but probably nowhere near Chicago odds.

  4. Staged week after week to get the common person so scared that gun control will be a slam dunk?
Or staged so some will blame the whites and some will blame the blacks. Divide and conquer has worked for the upperclass for three centuries here. Distraction. No one notices while they run off with the goodies.
