Has Mothers Day snuck up on you again? That’s right, if you haven’t been shopping yet, you’re in deep kimchi. But never fear, your friends at TTAG are here to help. Your first thought is probably flowers, right? Way too cliche. Chocolates? They’ll only make her fat. A Hallmark card? Please. You need to give her something unique. Something unusual. Something family and friends will ask her about . . . You need to give her a silver or gold flattened bullet . . .

The craftsmen at Hot Caliber Jewelry have painstakingly perfected a method for getting a fired bullet to flatten rather than disintegrate. They then make a mold of the pancaked projectile and cast them in mom’s favorite precious metal. So while you’d never consider actually firing at your mother, give her a bullet to keep close to heart.  You can thank us later.

  1. Mr. Zimmerman, Et Alii:

    “Deep kimchi”?

Boy, it’s been a long time since I heard that phrase.

So, I know where you’ve been, and I’ve been there, too.

My units were 307th Signal Battalion at Won Ju, and 142 Military Police Company at Yong Son.

Hey, I even had surgery at the 121st Evac in Seoul, just like on the TV series!

Did you take tae kwon do lessons?

I did, and with lots of time on my hands, it’s also where I learned to play guitar

But, it was many, many years ago.

Thank you. (or should I say, “Kamsahamnida”?)

  2. Doesn’t seem like a winning gift idea (and I bought my fiance a revolver for valentine’s day).

  3. Deep kimchi? You say that like it is a bad thing. Some good kimchi makes a meal.

Neither my wife nor my mother would really appreciate this idea. They would appreciate a trip to the range though.
