I’m trying to get some gun reviews on the boil, so I’m offering this news McNuggett as the plain, unvarnished, uh, press release.
ACCOKEEK, MD Beretta USA is pleased to announce that the Fresno (CA) Police Department has chosen the Beretta Px4 Storm Type F Full Size .40 S&W handgun as the official sidearm of the department. The choice of the Px4 Storm continues the long-standing relationship that Beretta and the Fresno Police Department have shared through the years.
Citing the need for a durable, accurate and, above all, safe pistol, the Fresno Police Department chose the technologically advanced Beretta Px4 Storm. “An officer’s firearm is a critical tool in protecting citizens and themselves from dangerous threats. Having a reliable and effective duty weapon is essential. It is for these reasons that we have entrusted Beretta as the firearm of every officer in our department,” said Police Chief Jerry Dyer.
“Chief Dyer has been explicit in his pistol requirements and as a result, the Fresno Department will be utilizing the Beretta Px4 Storm,” said Gary Ramey, VP of Sales and Marketing for Beretta, “the Px4 Storm represents the latest in technology and is the most durable, accurate and safest pistol available in the marketplace today. We are proud of our partnership with Chief Dyer and the Fresno Police Department and look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”
That long standing partnership was evident on September 28, 2010 as Beretta stood alongside Chief Dyer, Mayor Ashley Swearengin and other special guests during a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the Fresno Police Department Regional Training Facility. This world-class facility is like no other in Central California and offers specialized courses in: driving; firearms; tactics; arrest & control/defensive tactics; and force options & driving simulators. The Regional Training Facility chronicles the hard work, dedication and sacrifice the Fresno Police Department has given and continues to give to the citizens of Fresno; prominently displayed in the foyer are the handguns that the Fresno Police Department have depended upon to protect the citizens of Fresno and themselves while in the line of duty, fittingly enough all are Berettas, manufacturer of the official sidearm of the US Military for the past 25 years.
Beretta, established in 1526, is the oldest industrial dynasty in the world tracing its roots through 16 generations of continuous family ownership. Firearms bearing the Beretta name have been sold for almost 500 years. Beretta USA Corp. was founded in 1977 and supplies the standard sidearm to the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, Beretta manufactures, distributes and markets a complete line of firearms, accessories and apparel. Beretta also owns and operates six retail Beretta Gallery stores worldwide. I own a PX4 Storm 9mm and it's been very reliable and accurate for me. I also have two other friends who own the same pistol and they like it a lot.
Beautiful gun, like every Beretta, but I'd be more impressed if it was chosen as the official handgun of the Crips.
The gun in the picture is actually the type C. It has no safety/decocker or hammer. I’m looking to get a type F full frame in 40 S&W next week and I’m yet to read a negative review on it. I’m pretty excited to shoot it.
Has anyone tried out the .45 version?
Excellent choice, for a good PD; Fresno SO should do the same. A friend of mine bought one (F) and loves it, I want one in .45 tho đŸ™‚
