  1. My local Cabelas/Bass Pro is fairly pathetic this year. The worst in the last 8 Black Friday’s. My local NW Indiana/NE Illinois gunshops have deals aplenty…go figure. Have fun!

    • Bass pro’s Black Friday sale is not even close to others. $399.99 for a shield gen 1. Academy has the 2.0 w/ CT laser for $299.99. How the hell they are still in business with everyone else completely under cutting them is beyond me.

      • box stores are almost always the worst to buy guns, they are horrible prices. You’d think they would buy a large enough number where they would get better purchasing prices for firearms than local shops, who knows.

Other than some deals for 10/22’s, some shotguns, etc., box stores never have great prices.

        • Agreed. My LGS has the best prices on any gun in the city, followed by another LGS right behind them. Ammo is pretty good, but it’s a little cheaper online. If I don’t buy the gun directly from the local, I make sure they get the transfer fee, and I try to buy a box of ammo and/or a magazine every week just to help keep them around.

        • Living in a small town, the LGSs are all close to full MSRP. They also charge $75 to do a transfer, on a gun they did not sell, plus DROS, so the internet deal is no better than the price they are selling for when you add in shipping and sales tax. Sportsman’s Warehouse has some decent prices, and you have to shop the internet pretty thoroughly to find a better deal–which is hard for anything constituting a firearm. Internet prices are usually better on almost everything else.

  2. Meh. Cabelas an Academy both seem lack luster, I’ve seen similar deals from both throughout the year. The other retailers don’t have locations near by so shipping and transfer fees kill their deals.

  3. BiMart looks to have some good deals on Federal ammo (though it involves rebates). Federal 36 gr. copper coated 22lr for under 2¢ a round is pretty darn good.

I think BiMart is only in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Washington residents should also note that BiMart has “assault rifles” like the Ruger 10/22 and a Rossi .22lr autoloader on sale. You should grab some before 1639 goes into effect.

  4. Aimsurplus has 15% off Spikes, BCM, Faxon, Ballistic Advantage, and a few other brands. PSA has Magpul flip ups $49/set shipped, and $7.99 Pmags, free shipping when you buy 10. Primary Arms has a crap ton of discounted parts and accessories, you’d just have to browse through. KYgunCo has some good deals on M&P’s (2.0 $399.99 W/extra mag and mag pump loader and a CT light), Howa, and some other guns.

  5. “Ruger Lcp for $200. Save $100”?
I don’t know about other places, but here in OK, seems like everyone sells them for around $219 any time of the year.

  6. I bought the local paper today and Dick’s had one firearm listed. A 22LR bolt action. Need we say more?

  7. Ordered 4950 rounds of .22 (and some hooks, since I wasn’t dealing with keeping 1 buck on a gift card for a store that doesn’t even exist in my state) for effectively 100 bucks (little over 2 cents a round). Used a pair of 100 dollar Cabela’s Gift Cards I got for 80 each and will get 60 dollars in rebates from the ammo.

Shame I had to wait so long to use these gift cards. In the past I was using them days after I got them on ammo or optic sales but the ones I used for this sat on my desk for months with no good sales from Cabelas (or Bass Pro)

  8. If you are in the market for a gun safe…..it would behoove you to stay away from the cheap Chinese made safes that look attractive at what seems to be rock bottom prices that many of these “Big box stores” sell by the thousands…..the Chinese are notorious for using drywall instead of concrete for the fire ratings only to find out that Chinese drywall is loaded with sulfur which when combined with any amount of humidity will release sulfuric acid……it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what sulfuric acid will do to metal…I bit the bullet and bought a Fort Knox gun vault and don’t regret it…there are others out there too…Liberty makes a good safe as does American Security….seems like nothing of much good comes from China….stay safe out there.
