Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun control advocacy group backed by Michael Bloomberg (and not very many other people), has purchased some airtime this evening’s Republican debate on CNN. Its their attempt to shame the government into closing the “terror gap” and scare the public into further trading their civil rights in favor of the perception of safety. The ad will show “terrorists” walking into a gun store, purchasing evil “assault weapons,” and then proceed to terrorize America . . .
It’s important to note that none of the prior mass shootings would have been prevented by denying people on the “terrorist watchlist” access to firearms. As admitted by the White House, neither attacker in the San Bernardino terrorist attack was on the list and their firearms were purchased 100% legally.
In a statement about the ad, Everytown for Gun Safety said “The day after the San Bernardino shooting – the deadliest mass shooting since Sandy Hook – the U.S. Senate blocked a bipartisan bill to close the Terror Gap that makes it easy and legal for suspected terrorists to buy guns. It’s time for Congress to put the safety of Americans ahead of gun lobby interests and support common-sense measures that will save lives.”
I would be remiss if I didn’t note that Everytown’s definition of “bipartisan” seems to be inaccurate, since there was not one single Republican co-sponsor on the proposed legislation they are referring to. Then again, Everytown for Gun Safety are notorious for “bending the truth” to fit their narrative and this appears to be another such situation.
For more information about why using the “terrorist watchlist” to ban people from buying guns is a terrible idea click here.
no giving that a click, but let me guess. comments disabled?
No comments, barely broke 300 views and the ratings (likes/dislikes) are disabled.
They say they want a ‘discussion’; an ‘open dialogue’, but to me it’s clear they just want to please the oligarch funding Everytown’s operation.
I tried to comment and dislike as well, but those features are disabled. That’s par for the course with gun grabber vids.
‘Cuz… These ads are like Australian Shepards running a herd.
CNN sheeple herd?
Then, once the herd (target market) is rounded up, it’s just preach’n to the choir.
No other voices need apply.
These ads almost always backfire on them. Wonder how it is going to backfire this time.
This time it will be because they are hanging their hat on the controversial no-fly and terrorist watch lists that both right wing and left wing activists consider to be unconstitutional…
Wait! didn’t big ears odumbo tell us the way to fight terrorism was thru climate control?
With barry as an example I think it’s dangerous for the left to talk about terrorism. They’re going to come off second best in that talk.
No Islamic Terrorists here, just evil NRA and Tea Party members in this video.
BTW, what are they going to do about the Inspire designer bombs?
I want, nay DEMAND that the loophole loophole be closed.
Because loopholes are loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole loophole.
And if we don’t then the terrorists have won…for the children (cue sappy music)
ps- LOOPHOLE!
Look at this baby!™
They use that for every part of the liberal agenda.
“Global warming is Settled science”
“Well, actually,-”
“Look at this baby! Do it for the children’s future!”
Hey, wait a minute. Is it a “Terror Gap” or a “Terrorist Loophole?”
I’m confused. Is a “terrorist loophole” the same thing as a “camel toe”?
No. They’re going for a very different part of that poor camel.
We don’t need no stinking 5th amendment!
“Bipartisan” apparently means they expected both parties to vote in favor of it…
The whole Constitution is a loophole to those people.
Which is the inverse of the founder’s intent. The only loopholes are the ones that allow government regulation.
Wait–I’m gathering from the description in the text that the vid on the header is not the one running tonight. And I’m wondering id Bloomberg is really going to show a bunch of Middle Eastern males buying guns and terrorizing America–do you realize what a PC storm would fall on his head?
Heh. I’m imagining the fallout, and I like it. Let them run with it.
Love him, hate him but Bloomberg is about un PC as his buddy Donald Trump. So yeah, Bloomberg would go there.
This rings especially hollow given the fact that we’ve just learned that Jeh Johnson’s Dept of Homeland Security wouldn’t allow investigators to check social media profiles for suspected radical terrorists, and if he had, they would have found the profile of the female San Bernardino terrorist.
It was even worse than that! Literally, at the same time agents of the administration were telling us that all the refugees have been thoroughly vetted, Johnson was telling us that they have not been reviewing the social media profiles of those same refugees. That was actually happening at the same time on different networks.
Anyone who actually thinks they aren’t looking at everything, everywhere at all times at anybody they want, legal or not, is naive.
Folks, pat yourselves on the back. This is what our opposition has resorted to. They have lost on every rational front, and by abandoning rational, fact based arguments, they have conceded to that point.
At this stage, they are abandoning bad arguments that didn’t work, for just ridiculous arguments that are even more sure to not work.
Get how far we have come as supporters of the civil rights of American’s, that the enemies of those rights must now brazenly call to eliminate due process itself to present any argument at all.
“Terror gap” scored better with the focus groups than “Due Process gap”, “Constitution gap”, or “Freedom gap”.
There is a terror gap, there are way too many people that don’t own weapons, or if they do, don’t carry.
I’ll try to summarize:
We have to close the Terror Gap right now because the Middle Eastern refugees, who are all peaceful and will be fully vetted by the government, are going to GET GUNS AND MURDER OUR PRETTY BLOND GIRLS!
Well, to return the favor: Can’t wait to see them try to fly that–sort of like Bloomie getting caught on that hot mic saying young black males in particular should be prohibited from having guns.
The concept of Due Process is lost on most. This video is based only on an emotional ploy….for most that is enough.
If the Soviets had used this level of propaganda the USSR would be the most powerful country in the world today.
So Bloomberg can buy airtime showing terrorists purchasing weapons and terrorizing America, but Daniel Defense isn’t allowed to buy airtime during the Super Bowl? Typical double standard leftist media.
“Under Republican legislation sponsored by Senator John Cornyn, the federal government may delay the sale of a firearm to someone on the watch list for up to 72 hours. During that time, if the government can show a judge there’s ‘probable cause’ — the same legal standard used to obtain a search warrant — that the individual is plotting terrorism, then the gun sale is denied outright.”
Well, the Republocrats will fix this problem.
Interesting fact just revealed. Everytown and the NRA use the same Lobbyists.

I imagine the Terror Gap as being a terrorist themed Gap, selling ISIS themed clothing, turbans, and beard conditioner.
Yes that was very un-PC, yes it was worth the joke.
But can I get men’s khaki Chinos for $17.95?
Lol and the stuck up sales girls give you the cold burkha…
No “assault clothing”?
The only “terror gap” is the one between POSPOTUS’ ears.
Well played sir…
Well I had to work this evening and would not have watched the “debate” anyway. My vote will go to “anyone but Hillary.” But seriously, to air this type of ad during the Republican debates would only serve to inflame the Republican base — few Bloomie supporters would have watched it. Just to be insulting? Seriously immature and S T U P I D.
Democrats pass laws that require me to do things I don’t want to do even when there is no victim involved. Police show up to violently force me to do things I don’t want to do when there is no victim involved. The threat of more prison time and intimidating parole officers and police force me to do things I don’t want to do even when there is no victim involved.
How are these people not terrorists?
I went to a school that had a lot of gang-related issues due to some interesting redistributing. I remember sitting in class hearing that one gang was threatening to shoot up the school and thinking that there is nothing here to protect me or stop them. People were being checked out by their parents and I was just a fish in a barrel because no one except one SRO officer for two schools was there.
If I ever die in a gun-free zone, I hope someone sues whoever set that policy for not providing a level of security.
By saying they are known for “bending the truth”, of course you mean they are known for spewing flat out lies.
