Bob Munden, friend, sportsman, gunsmith, entertainer and world’s fastest
shooter passed away Tuesday. Recognized as “The Fastest Man with a Gun Who Ever Lived” by the Guinness Book of World Records, Bob was 70. Just released from the hospital after treatment for a mild heart attack, he died driving home with his wife.
Remarkable shooter. Too young to go.
I am genuinely saddened at hearing this. Bob was one of my shooting heros. I only wish I had a chance to meet him.
Man, I’m already missing Mr. Munden…. My prayers are with his family…. See you on the other side Bob…
Prayers to his family, he served us well and has gone on to his reward.
Our prayers are with his family. Shooters like him are an extremely rare breed..
LOL
LOL ?
I’ve seen people use “LOL” as “Lots of Love” before. That was the original meaning before internet times from what I understand. Let’s just hope that’s what he means.
Met him when I was three.
What a way to go. His poor wife.
Sad, sad. I admired him his skills and his dedication to the shooting sport. His wife was/is a dandy shooter herself. He was blinding fast in his prime, and as of a video I saw yesterday, 8 weeks before he died he was still amazing.
RIP.
One of the best exhibition shooters ever
Hit a necco wafer, aspirin, tossed in the air or yards away with single action or semi auto, quick draw and hit he target at high-speed
The Munden family have a lot to be proud off
Bob Munden was an epic shooter! I’ll miss his contribution to shooting sports, and my prayers are with his wife and family. The world could use more men like him.
Met him a few years ago at an exhibition in NC. Friendly and gracious and generous with his time. I cherish the photo of me with him. RIP.
The world is down one great man. Rest in peace, Bob. I will remember your legendary talents every time I go to better my own.
RIP!!! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of his friends and admirers!!!
Rest in Peace Bob. You were truly a remarkable shooter and will be missed. My familys thoughts and prayers go out to your family and all of your friends.
wow man, im really bummed about this. RIP Bob!
RIP…my heart goes out to his family.
Truly the finest to ever touch a wheelgun. I remember a video of him firing three shots with a SAA faster than a 1911 can cycle 3 rounds.
My exact same thought. Of all the amazing shots he has performed, firing a single action revolver faster than a semi-automatic is what I will always think of first.
One less reason to watch impossible shots. Bob was a great shooter and entertainer.
My brother saw him do an exhibition about 20 years ago, and still talks about it in total amazement. To have seen him shoot in person, makes you realize that his shooting on TV is absolutely real, no camera tricks, no CGI, he really was that fast AND that good. My prayers go out for his wife and family. Mr. Munden may not have been a big man, but the shooting community lost a giant today.
