George Zimmerman's Kel-Tec PF9 (courtesy gunbroker.com)

Sales copy written by George Zimmerman at gunbroker.com. The online auction starts 5/12/2016 at 11:00 AM EST

UPDATE: GunBroker.com has pulled the listing. Click here for their statement.

Prospective bidders, I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012. The gun is a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm. It has recently been returned to me by the Department of Justice. The pistol currently has the case number written on it in silver permanent marker. Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History. It has been featured in several publications and in current University text books. Offers to purchase the Firearm have been received . . .

however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with. The firearm is fully functional as the attempts by the Department of Justice on behalf of B. Hussein Obama to render the firearm inoperable were thwarted by my phenomenal Defense Attorney. I recognize the purchaser’s ownership and right to do with the firearm as they wish. The purchaser is guaranteed validity and authenticity of the firearm.

Kel Tec PF 9 for sale by George Zimmerman (courtesy gunbroker.com)

On this day, 5/11/2016 exactly one year after the shooting attempt to end my life by BLM sympathizer Matthew Apperson I am proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds will be used to: fight BLM violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of Angela Correy’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric. Now is your opportunity to own a piece of American History. Good Luck. Your friend, George M. Zimmerman ~Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum~

  1. Most. Expensive. Kel-Tec. Ever.

And yeah, it smells of desperation – the equivalent of giving hand jobs in bathroom stalls. Guy is probably completely unemployable due to the media, SJW circus that probably follows him like Pigpen’s dust cloud.

It will, however, be spun as “proof” of blood lust in the 2A community. And the spin might stick.

    • Yea but the best thing that could happen to this would be for Big Media to take the story up, that would drive the price up like crazy. They know that too, so watch as this is buried, no one will even mention it.

        • Yea well the Beeb would understand American gun culture the least wouldn’t they.

Maybe some rich bloke will pick the thing up…

        • I wonder if the story will show up on “Daily Mail UK”, they typically seem to have the
more information than the news outlets here

        • You do work on BBC’s? How about little Black ones? Or do you just like the big ones?

      • They are certainly running with it (for all the wrong reasons of course) but that is to be expected. The left cannot be bothered by facts.

    • The glorification of Thuglife and beatification of a goon by a sitting US president are the disgraces of the event.

    • Wouldn’t surprise me. His write up doesn’t sound like someone who wishes none of this – the confrontation, the fight, the shooting, the trial, the aftermath, the various legal encounters since – had happened, but rather someone who glorifies. He sounds like he would love to have it all happen again. He sounds like someone full of bloodlust.

      • Bloodlust? Really? Reads to me like someone whose writing skill could use a little work, and that’s all.

So why do you think the guy is full of bloodlust, that’s a bit of an inflammatory accusation there Katy. Dude has had lots of accusations thrown at him rather unfairly that all turned out to be untrue, you think there hasn’t been enough of that huh?

      • I suspect that that was provided by your imagination. I don’t see it there. The ad was better written than I would have expected from him even.

        • Yeah. I saw 50 comments and just figured this must be a horrible thing to do. Then I read the sales pitch and I can’t say I disagree with GZ’s position. After all, it was the Obama administration that blew this story up, not Zimmerman.

      • Gee Katy. where’d you go? You think it’s ok to just attack a guy like this without any basis in fact and then slink off and don’t stand behind your words with any sort of justification or anything huh?

Makes your little name calling look pretty cowardly.

        • To answer the first, he seems intent on blaming Obama, Correy, Clinton, and anybody else for his troubles. Does he come out and say that he wants to go hunting for black folk? No, and I don’t think he is full of bloodlust.

But, he _sounds_like somebody who wouldn’t know how to walk away from the hint of confrontation or descalate and argument. And, for much of the public, especially those opposed to him, it’s not hard to pull off with his tenor. The silliest, and still most frustrating, of his comments is “B. Hussein Obama”. Yes, that’s his name. But, when it’s clear that you are attempting to villify someone because of their name – a given name that they didn’t choose – it suggests a certain immaturity. It’s no better than the Drumpf, Dubya, and Hitlery that we see on a daily basis – communicating like children through perceived insults instead of talking like grownups.

          Regarding your second question:
          1) digging through posts and having to find comments and responses under the current comment system is a pain. It is hardly worth the effort unless there was a specific bit of information you were hoping to get.

          2) I’m gainfully employed and have work to do. I can’t spend all day on TTAG, reloading in hopes of comments.

All of this is for naught anyway. My understanding is that the listing has been pulled. By Zimmerman or gunbroker, I don’t know.

        • Well I give you credit for responding, yes we all have jobs.

You think he blames Obama? He should as it’s justified. Obama, more accurately both state and federal AG resources specifically targeted the GZ case for national attention in order whip up the news media and to try and influence the public to be more accepting of all manner of gun control.

So yes, Obama is directly responsible for much of this, and the attack is against not just GZ but all of the US and our second amendment rights. This is pretty low of them frankly, it’s dirty pool and politics and they were attacking an individual who was totally unprepared and incapable of properly defending himself and his rights. Luckily for him he came out of this not spending the rest of his life locked away, no thanks to B. Hussein Obama.

So what’s your problem with GZ using Obamas real name?

And by the way, sure it’s his name and he didn’t choose it. Indeed, however he does choose now to obscure it, and the media goes along with it specifically to hide the name and its connotations, now that’s pretty low, don’t you think? GZ is free to use it, it’s his own damn business what he writes, and mine too.

Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama.

          Heh heh.

    • ” Guy is probably completely unemployable due to the media, SJW circus that probably follows him like Pigpen’s dust cloud.”

Umm… how about the guy is completely unemployable due to the fact that he’s a douche bag.

  2. Zimmerman is the man. Or *A* man, anyway and that’s rare enough in this day and age.

    How much is the bid?!

  3. Okay I got to call BS on some of this. “Offers have been received…however the offers to use the gun were in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with”.

So instead he decided it was a great idea to put it on gunbroker in which he has no idea who is buying it or what they are going to use it for. The same groups that made him the offer before could just as easily jump on gunbroker and buy it, or trayvon’s family member could buy it with the sole purpose of revenge killing Zimmerman, I doubt that is something he would feel comfortable with either. Let’s call this what it is a desperate attempt by a broke man to come up with a couple hundred more dollars, which probably won’t even cover the amount that he is paying his “excellent defense attorney” to keep the gun from being destroyed.

To each their own but shines a poor light on gun owners.

    • I don’t really think that, this guy has basically had his life ruined by the media, and the state in a terrible way. He doesn’t have many choices here and no doubt needs the money.

No, not the greatest role model, maybe not the greatest message, but he’s just selling something that does have an actual collectors value, give the dude a break. That’s what I think anyway.

    • BS Nancy. Doesn’t “shine a light” on anything except legitimate and properly used human right to self defense.

    • Kinda cute the way the cops locked the key ring for the gun lock… in the lock.

Maybe that’s the only way they can make sure they don’t lose it.

    • Sorry. The above comment was misplaced.

As for George – He can’t stay out of the news because his celebrity status is the only way he knows how to make a buck.

I mean, would YOU hire him? For ANY job?

      • But if he wants to put his trust in Jesus etc etc and stay in FL why don’t all these heroic right wing second amendment supporters give him a job? Vets get preference at the post office. …

Also I heard that his lawsuit against MSDNC was ongoing. Hope that comes in soon for him.

        • @Alex LOL GZ take a innocent persons life who was walking home minding his own business. You’re right he deserves to be a millionaire!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. He’s been persecuted for years now. His head is bloodied, but unbowed. I hope he collects a bundle from the sale. He’s a martyr in the modern civil rights movement.

  5. Used, skint up, marked up Keltec. I’d max bid $135, but this won’t be on my watch list.

  6. If I were him I would probably just be trying to lay low, especially considering his run ins with the law after it was all said and done. I mean he can do what he wants with the gun, it’s none of my business, but I personally wouldn’t be auctioning it of.

  7. Not sure how this is breaking news but whatever floats your boat.
Now if this was the gun Hitler used to kill himself I could see the excitement.

  8. Z should lay low. Any time he comes up in the media, it’s negative. This won’t help him, nor does it help us. Gunbroker should have refused to list the item.

I get that Z probably needs the money, but there’s other ways of doing it, even in his situation. Form an LLC (to keep your name out of it) and use Upwork or something to get gigs, I don’t know…

    • It looks like Gunbroker was informed about it and shut down the auction, probably for the best, nothing of value is lost by pulling this.

It didnt help that his description read like a computer genereted old man rant, trying to hit Bingo for as many buzzwords as possible.

    • Exactly wrong: collectivist thinking, just the like SJW’s that are sooooo cringeworthy.

No one “represents” me except me. GZ does not give me a bad name nor your.

Own your own life, and stop thinking in terms of “groups.” Group identity only provides “them” with a hook to control.

      • You must be a special kind of stupid if you don’t think that the preservation of our rights absolutely depends on popular perception of guns and their owners.

    • Oh lovely look what we have here, a peaceful progressive liberal who stands for liberty, peace and progress. And if you don’t like that then you need to he needs to shoot himself, that’s real clever.

Peace! Do what we say for peace, if you don’t we will kill you! That’s peace and love man!

Cognitive dissonance, do you understand what those words mean or are there too many letters there?

Oh and I have a bet, this maroon doesn’t have the stones or even the intellect to respond to this question, he won’t be back.

      Lovely.

      • You are very wrong and dumb at the same time. My belief and practice of the 2nd amendment and self defense are not conflicting. If you believe that any man that hunts down and kills a kid is justified then all of you can go to hell. Now he potentially capitalizes from it by selling the sword that he used to slay the dragon. You want to sensationalize every action of this piece of crap like he’s a legend. You can go straight to hell.

  9. What a tool. This guy is a walking embarrassment for gun owners. And he had to throw some “B. Hussein Obama” shade in his listing. Very edgy, like a 14 year old who just learned about politics.

    • 135,000 views from journalists reporting on yet another George Zimmerman non-story…

  10. My BS sense is tingling. I’m thinking this might be a fake listing that someone might have created to try to show that gun owners are blood thirsty racist killers. I’d be very skeptical about this. Something just doesn’t feel right about it.

    • Given Zimmerman’s almost superhuman ability to make poor decisions, this feels pretty authentic to me.

      • Apparently he talked to local news stations so I guess my initial reaction was wrong. I really wish I wasn’t…

        • I don’t understand why all you people want to attack GZ for this, why do you care and think it’s any of your business?

Remember, it is the media and the state that made this into a national obsession, not GZ. And they did so, using GZ as the vehicle with which to further push more gun regulation against all of us, and for that matter they mostly failed. They were using GZ as a tool to attack you.

This should have been a local story at best, and he should have simply had this thing investigated and followed up on fairly and impassionately by the justice system, not making him into a national figure, personally attacking him with the power of the state and federal government and basically ruining any chance this guy had for leading a normal life.

Did he make the best decisions, of course not. Was he stupid, yea, pretty much. But he was also attacked, his life was threatened and he acted. I for one am happy that it was him that survived this and not the other way around. Should he lay low and stay away from trouble and all of that, yea, sure. But if he wants to sell this private property which is his and does have a value to someone, why do you care? Why can’t you leave the guy to his own business, as so many seem to want to advise GZ to do for the rest of us?

This is private property rights and freedom, his gun, his choice to sell it. How can this bother anyone?

        • It’s not that he was selling the gun. I had no problem with that. It’s that he purposely went to media outlets to stir up attention for himself. Numerous posts say that no one is willing to hire him and he’s hurting for money. Perhaps drawing more attention to himself isn’t the best coarse of action. His life. His choices. But I firmly recommend he put a little more thought into those choices.

  11. It’s call Capitalism, b*tches!

Blood and sex bring the $$$, period.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

    • Capitalism doesn’t doesn’t set a value violence and sex, people do. Same with greed, it is a human trait not a component of capitalism.

      • Selling a product which you own for a higher than standard value because it has a history attached to it is not Capitalism…

What do you call it then?

  12. How do we know that this is real? The user name at gunbroker uses handle “GZ1776.”

I didn’t think Zimmerman was a 1776, Gadsden kind of guy.

Also “GZ1776” is a new user with no feedback.

How do we know that the user is actually the real George Zimmerman and this is the actual firearm used during that event???

Ok – maybe it is the real deal:
    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/05/12/george-zimmerman-is-auctioning-off-gun-used-in-trayvon-martin-shooting/

  13. Cool. I hope the auction does well.

As far as I’m concerned, whatever, it’s a Kel Tec. But it obviously worked fine that evening.

  14. Why would the Smithsonian want the gun? Does it actually have some sort of famous/infamous handguns display?

    • Yeah, that strikes me as pure BS. The Smithsonian might be interested in it if it had some historical value, but it doesn’t. That shooting wasn’t some watershed case that changed American jurisprudence forever, it was just a media shitstorm that we’d all have forgotten about by now if GZ didn’t keep douching his way into trouble every six months.

  15. I believe that the jury reached the correct decision in the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case.

I also believe that George Zimmerman is a monumental tool, and due to his history of domestic violence and assaulting police officers, should never be allowed to possess a firearm.

This auction is in extremely poor taste, and is further testament to GZ’s lack of maturity and judgement.

    • Indeed. Only someone capable of evaluating evidence could possibly come to either conclusion. Err, yeah.

On a more serious note, I don’t know anyone who thinks GZ is a hero. He was a regular guy stuck in a horrible situation, and did what he had to do to save his life. Doesn’t make him either a villain or a hero.

      • I guess you trust any policeman who is willing to admit that he hates “niggers,” particularly when a black man is on trial. Good to know, Old Ben, whom I infer to mean old Ben Franklin, “nigger”-owner.

On a more serious note, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t think Ben Franklin is a hero. He was a regular slave-owner stuck in a slave-owning situation, did what he had to do to remain in business. Makes him both a villain and a hero.

On a more serious note, I don’t know anyone who thinks OJ is a hero. He was a father stuck in a horrible situation, and did what he had to do to save his son’s life. Doesn’t make him either a villain or a hero.

  16. Breaking?

How is this “breaking” news? How is this “news”, at all? Guy lawfully uses deadly force in self-defense, and sells the gun used lawfully in self-defense.

  17. It all seems in bad taste; the bravado.

It would be entirely different if the dialogue said somethin like, because of how I’ve been demonized by the press and the president, I can no longer earn a living through traditional means. So I am auctioning off this pistol.

In other words throw it back in their face. You know damn well that if the roles had been reversed and he had killed Zimmerman (the “white” hispanic) , little Trayvon would have a reality show by now. (Keeping up wit’ da Martins??)

    • +1

But are you surprised? The man did murder someone who was walking home minding their own business…

      • There is no evidence to suggest that was the case. Everything with this case points towards GZ following TM (which is legal), then TM attacking GZ (illegal), then GZ defending himself (legal).

However, that doesn’t excuse GZ seemingly going off the deep end after the whole thing, not does it make this auction anything other than tasteless.

      • The man did murder someone who was walking home minding their own business…

Wait: I thought we were talking about the George Zimmerman who defended himself after being assaulted by Trayvon Martin. Is there some other “George Zimmerman” that you’re talking about?

  18. I had a PF 9-I don’t want another one. Unlike some of you mopes I wish the white hispanic well. I dunno’ what you’d do if a young high homie jumped you(in the dark) and bashed your head against the pavement. And they still bring this up as a “stand your ground” event…

  19. The party’s know who they are that made this a racial incident. Since when did a Puerto Rican shooting a Black American make news?

His behavior keeps him in the news. He’s Teflon that he can follow someone to their work and brandish a firearm. Touching a gun during a police stop is not recommended anywhere. His violent outbursts with girlfriends that involved unsafe gun handling point to..? Guarding the gunstore/motorcycle shop without the owner’s permission or knowledge….is he a cop wanta be?

Not a good representative for gun ownership.

A defensive gun use doesn’t make one a hero.

  20. What I want to know is how and when did he get it back from the feds. Remember when they took the gun as “evidence” for a possible civil case against him?

  21. You need to upgrade your trolling game, son. Every one of your posts is about shooting somebody, it’s just too over-the-top, a caricature of what a nineteen-year-old SJW thinks gun owners sound like. Tone it down a bit, and you might actually fool some people.

  22. Listing is GONE…had it saved as a watched item. It was scheduled to go live at 1100. Now it is GONE. Sounds like a publicity stunt if I ever heard of one.

  23. Only time I’ve heard of a PF-9 actually working… Atleast one worked when it mattered.

  24. Once again George Zimmerman proves what we probably knew from the beginning… he just loves putting himself in stupid situations. It’s how he got arrested the first time, it’s how he ended up in an altercation that resulted in a deadly use of force, it’s how he’s gotten in trouble about a half-dozen times since then.

I still wouldn’t convict him for the shooting based on the evidence but I won’t defend him either.

  25. It’s a free country.

What’s funny is all the inevitable social justice warriors who will drive the price up by making this inanimate tool out to be evil incarnate.

The power of perception, persuasion, and ignorance at work.

    • Whenever I run into one of those frothing-at-the-mouth SJW’s on the street, I just tell them THEY and their ilk are one of the top reasons I carry concealed and own guns. Then I just walk away.
That usually causes them to throw a hissy fit of epic proportions in a public place, making the people around stare at them and see how truly pathetic SJW’s are.

      Always makes me smile. 🙂

  26. GZ, along with this move, seems bound and determined to seal his public pariah status. I thought he had every reason to claim “stand your ground,” but since then he’s done everything possible to make it worse for himself. Certainly not the brightest bulb in the pack.

  27. One thing Zimmerman certainly does not have and that is any form of higher intelligence. Stirring up more headlines should be the last thing that he would want. He must be in some very tough financial troubles to do this. And the shame of it is there are a lot of Right Wing Fanatics that will probably bid big bucks on this gun. If Zimmerman had done as he was told by the Police dispatcher he never would have had to kill Martin but being fair about the incident when you study what happened Martin did attack Zimmerman from behind and did try to smash his skull to a pulp on the cement pavement. At that point Zimmerman did indeed have the right to shoot him. Its called the right to self defense and even a low life like Zimmerman has this Constitutional right.

Later in time evidence showed Martin had indeed robbed homes and sold the merchandise he stole. So we had two men neither of which were shining examples of Citizens get into a deadly altercation and then it evolved into a black v/s white and a Liberal v/s Conservative fight in the courts. When all this was going on there were several hundred shootouts in Chicago most of which never even made the news because it was blacks gunning down blacks. The Conservative Whites could not care less about such black deaths and the Liberal Whites would rather pretend it never happened and if it did should not be compared to the Zimmerman case. Neither side is right on that one.
