It’s official. The FBI released their numbers from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System for November and 2016 is “The Year of the Gun” with 24.8 million guns sold. This bests 2015’s red-hot year for sales by well over a million and a half guns.
2016’s gun sales will continue to grow as December traditionally represents the biggest month of the year for gun sales.
IT’S NOT OVER YET !!!
+ NOW GO BUY SOME AMMO, THE POS (D)TARDS HOLD OFFICES UNTIL JANUARY.
Hmmm. I bought way more guns in 0-15 than 0-16. A record, to be more specific. But if things get unstable in 0-17, then it will beat 0-15.
Oh wait, 0-16 isn’t over. There’s still hope for a new record this year. Gotta run!
Look’s like ‘Gun salesmen of the year’ go’s Hillary Clinton. Who, I would like to thank for supporting firearm manufactures.
“go’s to”
“goes to.”
I often wonder what apostrophes ever did do deserve the abuse they get.
I’ll try to remember that.
If it is before the “S” it means singular possessive.
If it is after the “S” it means plural possessive.
IIRC.
They got high. Otherwise they’d be a comma. Don’t do drugs.
Tom is correct.
Of course there are no apostrophes in personal possessives.

The actual number is far more than the official figures show. I got 4 guns this year (so far) but only two of them required a background check. I got two very old used guns that were sold decades before there were any requirements to report anything. One doesn’t have a serial number and both of my old guns could have been sent to the original buyer through the mail (and they probably were).
I think I’m only at 1 rifle, 1 pistol, but neither had a BC, as I have a LTC and use a dealer who accepts nothing else, he *never* does BC. You don’t have a permit? Go away. Meanwhile, it could be argued that all those big numbers are largely new guys, although I see published figures still say we have 80 million gunowners, just like it said 20+ years ago.
Same here. My purchase had no BC since ccp is sufficient.
CRIME IS WAAAAYYYY UP TOO !!!
It’s mostly violation of our Constitution by our President with a wink and a nod from our POS globalista sh_tass neighbors in the House, Senate, and SCOTUS; espionage by our current and former Secretary’s of State, dissolution of our national entity by the President through lapse border security; the return-to-service-before-expiration date of some REAL POS BAD-ACTORS IN GITMO (FU to all involved); giving away of our national territories and national resources; abdication of sovereignty to the UN; abandonment of our allies and the innocent(s) in the world; etc., etc., etc. . . .
BTW, I too like to paperweight my 4473’s with a new firearm when I fill them out too. XD in drab, nice.
I did my part. And I’ll try next year to keep the fun going!
I wanted to but I’m still recovering from the boating accident.
This provides a nice counter argument to today’s quote of the day. Unless 3% of gun owners bought all those guns, too. The number is definitely low, too, not accounting for private sales in free states and those with a CWP buying in their state of residence.
Gun ownership in Illinois – where we are cursed with government registration of gun owners – has grown from about 1.2M when Barack “57 States” Obama took office to nearly 2.1M today. That’s better than 70%.
I think that’s probably a good barometer for the rest of the nation.
JOhn
I suspect that Illinois’ relatively new concealed carry law is still giving birth to new gun owners. Nothing wrong with that.
On the weekends in NJ you can wait 2+ hours for a lane on a weekend. Never used to be that way. New ranges are popping up all over the state as well.
But what about on the weekends?
I’m confused, it that how it is on the weekends too?
😛
Sorry, couldn’t resist. That’s really encouraging news though. As more awaken, the people will continue to take back their country from the fascist elites.
Dammit! That’s what I get for phone posting! Ha ha.
Also of note is that the crowd is far more diverse than it used to be.
If liberals really thought about how many guns were in circulation they would never leave their house. They would probably just curl up in the corner sucking on a binkie.
Just imagine what will happen if the HPA passes! A slew of innovative integrally supressed firearms come to market. Replacement barrels for all those existing firearms. Silencers for everyone! This could be a real boom for the firearms industry.
…or not-boom, as the case may be.
Boon? Fersure!
Only one of those 24.8 million guns is mine, but I’ll try to do better next year.
Bought 2 this year!
And a bunch of ammo to feed everything I have!!!
C’mon, John. That’s NICS checks, not guns sold. Still, yes, the number of guns sold will likely be the highest so far. We need to wait for the 2016 ATF Firearms Commerce report in Jan 2018 for that number.
You’re right. It’s on the conservative side as more than a few of those are multiple gun purchases.
I may or may not have had a couple of those this year myself. By the way, guns make wonderful gifts.
Nothing says “I love you” like a gift that says, “I trust you and want you to be safe.”
John
A couple of years ago a liberal in a group I participate in went ballistic when I talked about buying a gun as a Christmas gift. 🙂
Bought 4 this year:-
1- CZ P-07 Duty
2- Ruger AR-556
3- Mossberg 500
4- Sig P938
Just trying to do my bit!! Glad to help!!
Nice!
So far I bought two custom ARs, two AR-10s, A Glock 23, Sig 229, Ruger 10/22 Takedown Mossy Oak, and I’ve got another AR-15 and AR-10 lower en route.
I did however, sell 2 guns.
I’m also looking at buying land in WI since CA is buggered. The LA election protest demonstrations really helped with OT.
I wish that I had your budget!!!!
Oh yes, almost forgot I bought an Aero Precision stripped lower, so that makes 5 guns in 2016!!!!
I wish I had your room!
1- Remington RM380
2- Para 18.9 Commander
3- H&R 44MAG Handi-rifle.
I did my part!
I bought a couple on paper. A couple not papered and inherited 5 that were never papered.
I’m curious if my purchases counted. I have a Utah CCW permit (and live in Utah) and I believe that means I don’t need a background check – they just call the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification to confirm my CCW permit is still valid. So does my 4473 get counted or not? I bought two this year.
Nope! Ain’t it wonderful?
No. Yours are ghost guns.
I helped with about a bakers dozen ?
List ’em or it didn’t happen! 😀

Baaah…..big deal.
All those guns were bought by the same 3% who bought all the guns last year. There is no growth in the dead and buried firearms industry. I know this because the infallible media told us so. As we all know……news polls are always accurate. Don’t believe me? Ask HRC when she takes office next month.
\Sarc*
This was a stock up on ammo year for me. However, I did at least get a circa 1973 Ruger Mk 1 and a Ruger bolt action 5.56 American Ranch rifle. And my wife bought a S&W Shield. Guess we did our part, although CHL holders in Texas don’t get a NICS check, so I wonder if we were even counted. Thanks to Target Sports USA with their free shipping on bulk ammo and “plain brown wrapper” outer boxes, I managed to get my inventory replenished before Hillary’s threatened 25% tax on ammo. Had to relocate some…all the lead was beginning to make one side of the house settle.
Sadly, I am not a part of that statistic. This year has not been kind to my firearms addiction. But I did get a few cases of gun food.
ETA: I think I clicked just to see the XD
Wow. 250 million guns sold in just 17 years. Maybe the figures are wrong on the total number of firearms in the US. Looks like there is a lot more.
Only bought a Marlin 1895 SBL and a .45 can this year. Love that rifle, its a reloader’s dream.
And the streets of America run red with the blood of Gun Violence Victims!
Wait, not happening? WTF man, I was promised streets running red with blood.
Damm Brady liars.
