Press release: Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to introduce the PC Carbine™ chambered in 9mm Luger. Practical and versatile, the Pistol Caliber Carbine is ideal for any shooter, from novice to experienced. Built to excel in a number of roles from plinking or competition to home or personal defense, the PC Carbine is highly configurable and compact, making it the perfect portable companion to match with many popular pistols.
Uniquely designed for use with a variety of magazines, the PC Carbine features an easily interchangeable magazine well system that allows the rifle to accept common Ruger® and Glock® magazines. This new rifle also features a dead blow action with a custom tungsten dead blow weight that shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise.
Similar to the popular 10/22 Takedown® rifle, the PC Carbine is designed for quick separation of the barrel/forend assembly from the action for ease of transportation and storage. Takedown is as simple as locking the bolt back and verifying that the rifle is unloaded, pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart.
“Our customers have long been requesting the return of a Ruger pistol caliber carbine and we are excited to bring this versatile design to market,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger President and CEO. “Designed with shooting enthusiasts in mind, the PC Carbine’s interchangeable magazine well system allows customers to use some of the most commonly available 9mm Luger handgun magazines in their rifle.”
The rifle also features a reversible magazine release and charging handle to accommodate right- or left-handed shooters. The bolt is machined from heat-treated, chrome-moly steel to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning and features a 1/2″-28 thread pattern to allow for use of standard muzzle accessories.
The rifle’s accurate sighting system features a ghost ring adjustable rear aperture sight and a non-glare, protected blade front sight. The durable glass-filled nylon synthetic stock includes a forward-mounted accessory rail and a soft rubber buttpad with spacers to allow the rifle to be adjusted for different sized shooters or varying levels of outerwear.
The PC Carbine ships with the SR-Series / Security-9® magazine well installed and an additional magazine well that accepts Glock® magazines. A Ruger American Pistol® magazine well will be available separately at ShopRuger.com.
MSRP: $649 (about $525 on Brownells)
Ok this just made the gotta have list.
That’s excellent news, I’d be more than happy to buy one. Anybody know if there’s a magwell adapter for P-series magazines?
Awesome! Now make it in 10mm or 44 Magnum.
I was thinking .357 Sig. The longer barrel would produce higher velocity and reduce muzzle blast.
Ruger has been knocking it out of the park recently. It’s almost like they’re listening to their customers or something.
I’d rather have a Sub2K but Ruger will surely be able to pump out more of these in one month than Keltec has been able to produce Sub2K’s in the last 10 years.
Why do you prefer the sub2000?
curious as I am in the market for a carbine.
Well, acquiring this one may just push me over the top in the media’s eyes from having a cache of arms, to maintaining a stockpile of weapons–or is that the other way around–but I have to have it.
I will definitely buy one of these, was getting tired of the same old stuff out there.
Glad Ruger is still innovating, aside from the Trump effect, we are getting a little bored, and need new stuff, thank you Ruger.
Let’s not give them too much credit here. They’re just bringing back a product that they discontinued back in 2007. Some accountant probably saw that PC9s are going for over $1000 on Gunbroker and popped a chub.
If this performs as well as its feature set is laid out we have a winner here.
I think it looks like a mini 14, but with a 10/22 take down twist, good looking rifle and I’ll be looking for one after I get the two off layaway I’m currently buying, only $1000 to go!
On their website they talk about the trigger having 10/22 components, hopefully it’s a BX trigger , not the standard 10/22 trigger.
If it’s me or the pachyderm, the pachyderm is going down. (Which is why I carry a .357.)
You know I love our .357s, Gov, but even our .44s would not be enough to keep Jumbo from turning us into chunky primate salsa.
🤠
You aren’t taking an elephant with a .357.
No, No, No.
Of course I’m goin’ to protect myself against beasts of the jungle, in the same way as I’d protect myself against an aggressive member of the human race.
I just don’t see the sporting attitude in shooting a slow moving creature that’s bigger than life itself, just for the sick logic these trophy hunters must have.
If it wasn’t for those trophy hunters, there probably wouldn’t be any elephants around. As for slow moving, you should go piss off an elephant and see if you can outrun one. Hunters don’t shoot things moving fast. They shoot them when they’re standing still regardless of how fast they could potentially run. That goes for deer, bear, antelope, elephants, lions etc. Your ignorance on this subject is showing. Maybe you should read up on it before you start demonizing the people who are keeping the elephants around.
It’s been several years since I bought a firearm. This could well replace my trusted shotgun as a home defense weapon.
I’m not getting any younger. A modern take on the m1 carbine might be just the ticket.
I wouldn’t shoot an elephant even to save humans, and I would sign a directive not to harm an elephant even if necessary to save my own life, if that was a thing.
There are more than seven billion of us, while these animals are endangered. Given the numbers, their lives are more valuable than those of us, the metal-forging hairless chimps.
(If a rogue is an imminent danger to the herd itself, that’s a different situation where you would have to choose the lesser evil.)
You’re mere existence has an enormous impact on the environment, other animals, microbes, and endangered species. Perhaps you should do something about that. You’re only one out of 7 billion, so you are pointless anyway.
We can all at least agree that we wouldn’t shoot an elephant to save this weirdo.
Cops should carry them. They wrestle with bad guys a lot and get int ok situations where they can lose control of the gun.
And that won’t happen ever.
I have a Ruger Model 44 carbine in .44 mag and I love it. My only quibble is it only holds 4 rounds.
So here’s hoping Ruger releases this in other calibers, eventually a .44 mag or even a 10 mm would be great.
Of course I could shoot an elephant, as could anyone else capable obtaining transport, tools, licenses, guides and operating said tools. The question I think you wanted to ask is would I shoot an elephant.
And my answer to that it, no. Too damn much hassle for too little gain.
Meh, I’ll pass. 9 mm isn’t much more powerful from a 16″ bar rel than a 4 or 5″. They could at least feed the mag up the pis tol grip to make it more compact than a lev er g un that’s way more powerful.
If it takes off well enough to expand the line to .45acp, I may consider one as an East Texas brush gun.
🤠
It depends on the grain of bullet you’re using. 147 grain tends to have the same ballistics out of a handgun and carbine. Going lighter (115 grain) really steps it up. More propellant, better burn, it’s not unusual to gain 200fps. That means more energy and expansion. Using really light fmj should defeat most level II-A and II armor–plenty of difference.
http://ballisticsbytheinch.com/9luger.html
How is this different than Ruger’s discontinued PC9 and PC40?
Well shit. They’ve finally released something I can’t resist.
There’s been plenty of stuff I *liked* but this… I have to have it.
If they make it for SR9 mags, that is.
Edit: guess who didn’t read to the bottom before commenting?
🙂 .. again.
Yeah. There are some bigguns down in Botswana. I just can’t afford the tag.
I’m wondering if it will be available for sale in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia. I was interested in the Chiappa M1 9mm Carbine until I started reading the crummy reviews. I want one. I really want one.
In this configuration, it is “featureless” and therefore not an illegal “assault weapon.” It therefore should be perfectly legal.
If Magpul were to make a stock for this like the 10/22 backpacker, it would be perfect.
“The PC Carbine ships with the SR-Series / Security-9® magazine well installed ”
The way that’s phrased makes me thing the Security9 takes SR mags, is that true?
Dammit Ruger. I do have other bills, you know.
Why not chamber it in 30 caliber carbine instead of a pistol caliber.? The M-1 carbine reinvented.
9mm is cheap and plentiful.
the ‘ol decoy gun trick
The people sponsoring this sort of legislation try to avoid public input by twisting the process, because opponents (people who possess knowledge of the legislation’s topic) will say things that do not advance the sponsors’ agenda. If public input cannot be avoided, those carrying that unapproved message must be attacked and discredited during their allotted testimony time. Since subject matter knowledge is actively avoided, of course the resulting legislation contains flaws that render it unworkable.
Evan Low was Mayor of my city (and member of MAIG) before he ascended to California’s State Assembly to broaden his noxious attacks.

Not in New Yorkistan … threaded muzzle.
There is a model that ships w/o a threaded barrel and 10 round magazines.
There’s a reason why we don’t suffer from a shortage of beef cattle in this country. It’s called livestock management. Same applies to wildlife.
May we safely anticipate Ruger will soon announce a 9mm integrally suppressed barrel section, as they offer for the 10/22 Takedown rifle (http://ruger.com/micros/silent-sr-ISB)?
Ruger will have to compete with the (aren’t they announced yet?) 9mm Takedown offerings from TBA, Innovative Arms, KGMADE, etc.
I sure hope so…
Probably not, for the same reason I have no desire to go whaling, eat a dog, or go bald eagle hunting.
Carry cheap a** Bersa Thunder 380 w/10 round magazine. It’s easily replaced if ever used for SD
Took Texas Concealed Handgun License with it, and passed with a respectable score. Also got to practice two clearing drills with it during the test. Backup is Ruger LCR 22lr or Ruger SR 22lr with 10 round magazine. Have a second LCR 22lr in event of LEO seizing weapon upon SD use.
Car carry is Bersa 22lr because that is only handgun that fits a Sneaky Pete holster, other than Glocks, not a fan of those.
If you say the LCRs are not effective due to heavy trigger pull, you are a girly man for not either not knowing trigger position for revolver vs pistol, or haven’t dry fired 200-300 rounds with metal snap caps. I’m a 66 old woman with some hand weakness. If I can do it, you can too.
I do have much more expensive handguns GP 101 and GP 100, they have vintage grips on them in great condition. Because I admire form vs function they are “Safe Queens. Take them out for cleaning and lub job. I do love handsome handguns and old style steel frames. But maybe just me, your mileage may vary.
This will sell like hot cakes in Cali. No “evil features” like a pistol grip. The blow-back system (short throw) and short cartridge is so it’ll all fit in front of the “wrist” in the traditional rifle stock config. Good thinking on Ruger’s part 😀
to me that is the ultimate cowardly kill. unless of course its charging someone. its a smart, usually docile animal. it is what men with small dicks do to make themselves feel better.
You must be a liberal. Only liberals talk about a man’s penis when that man is doing something he doesn’t agree with. Drive a large truck, own a gun, hunt deer, etc., they’ll always have your penis on their mind. So you, Mr. Liberal pansy, have our penises on your mind because we are willing to do something that you don’t like. Not that any of us ACTUALLY did it. We are just saying that we are willing to. And for that, you’re thinking of our penises.
I think you lost this mind game. In the interest of accuracy for your imagination, I’m 7″.
I’m sure the Inquisitr was all over Obama’s shitty form.
His shotgun pic looked photo shopped. Poorly.
She looks like she’s actually holding a shotgun.
NY is good to go, as Ruger makes a non threaded one to . PC stands for politicaly correct as well….. should be a big seller here .
You go girl! Give ‘em hell!
LOL. Just because you suck at hitting game at averages past 75-yards, it doesn’t mean those who regularly use the 6.5mm, or any other effective cartridge past that distance, could be considered “unethical hunters”. There is no established distance that identify when someone is hunting unethically. If you suck past 75-yards and take a shot at 76-yards, you’re an “unethical hunter”.
The fact of the matter is, some places allow for such long shots and those who take such shots that are well within their skill and effectiveness usually drop their prey like a ton of bricks. Heck, in some parts of the world you’d be lucky to get presented with a shot that is closer than 600-yards.
I don’t hunt, but I did start shooting PRS matches starting in early 2017. And just about every match I’ve ever participated in was dominated by cartridges that were claimed to be fads by such know-it-alls as this article’s author. I also think that you’ve been shooting against some mediocre “shooters” if you don’t believe these games can make a better shooter out of people who are already good shooters.
There is a reason real life pipe-hitting long range trigger pullers who hunt the most dangerous animal on earth, both foreign and domestic, participate in these games. HINT: doing so allows them to hone their fundamentals in marksmanship while inoculating themselves against stress.
By the way, I switched from the .308 to the 6.5 Creedmoor because the nerve damage I suffered from thoracic surgery a couple of years ago made the .308’s recoil way too much to effect a good hit after the first shot. It is the same reason I have installed muzzle brakes on all my rifles that are chambered for anything larger than the .223/5.56.
Social media created a society that thinks their moral duty and core values are to sit and wait for a chance to attack with criticism
Fk’n shit bags.
What started off as a platform for college kids to try to get laid has transformed into a cesspool of hatred, anger, and disgust, where murders, rapes, and assaults are live streamed and people willingly overshare the most mundane details of their lives, all because they’re hopelessly addicted to the faux-satisfaction of receiving “likes” and “follows”. Social media is literally destroying our society.
Wonder how this compares to the Beretta CX4 Storm? Almost bought one but hated the trigger. Ended up with an AR-9 pistol that takes Glock mags, which I love.
That… is one crazy OCD dresser top organizer.
🤠
Hell. Yes. I’m gonna get one, and I’m gonna name it Mr. Plinkett.
I purchased one Thanksgiving Eve did not shoot till Friday, would not load a shell when bolt carrier advanced a few rounds, then some stuck to the bolt c after shot could not fire more than two in a row without pulling out by hand. Worried call manufacturer, sent back in a week. New upper parts, stated over charged. Sluggs, 000, were hot enough and chambered nicely. Shoot well with hot enough load, fun gun. I enjoy mine. Apparently there is an issue with the gun itself from manufacture when first on the market. They corrected mine.
Sadly in my part of the country, ( The south ) there is a constant shortage of police in the county I live. Hence the requirements for a Police Officer is dumbed down to allow lesser qualified candidates to fill these empty spots. I carry every day but I do so knowing these lesser experiences Officers know almost nothing about the carry laws in the State I reside. I have a very queasy feeling when I have one pull in behind me. We have had our fair share of shootings where the Police were obviously in the wrong but it was ruled a “Good shoot ” any way . I think a real lack of proper training is helping to fuel the tread we are seeing in cops who spook to easy and pull the trigger before thinking that is fueling a sense of uneasiness in law abiding , legally licensed citizens. These candidates need it stressed to them that you are to totally take race out of the equation and rely on training . Please don’t take me wrong, Most Police Officers are capable of performing at a professional level. It is the ones that are not I am the most concerned with.
Yes. Next question.
The new Ruger 9mm carbine might find a way into my home.
My view is simple my right to life liberty and pursuit of happiness is endowed by my creator God almogjty himself. Thst means mams written word or spoken word we never render me defenseless. Everythimg i need for a single shot fireaarm is sold at box stores. Not to 80% lower kitsm
They can preach gun grabbing but i dont see how 2miilion , if thst many law enforcement and military are going to go door to door where armed pissed off scared nerverous gun owners live numbering at least 270 million as low end estimate. Reality is if Half of us turned to violent rebellion we would put a fear into them that hasnt been seen since the civil war
Ruger has been killing it lately with economical offerings that don’t suck.
That new Ruger pistol carbine with an integrally suppressed barrel like they did for the 10/22 takedown would be the cat’s ass for home defense.
Ruger, make one in .45ACP.
Willya? Please???
(And, RF? Not enough nookie makes the lawyer wealthy as well…)
What about a Kel-Tec SU-16C ? ‘C’ model
Ok, I know its not a pistol caliber, but still…
Not elephant, not rhino, not tigers, lions, or bears, not hawks, or eagles, buzzards or frigate birds, whales or sharks. Critters are my brothers and they don’t bother me. However I am not against trophy elephant hunting, as at this time it appears the only way to stop extinction. I could shoot a Chinaman dealing in ivory. Oh and elephants have be killed with a 44. and so has Chinamen.
I will never have to make that call. I can’t see spending multiples of my net worth on tags, travels, guns and guides to find out if I could pull the trigger on such a magnificent beast, and I can think of other things I’d rather do than hunt dangerous game. I have had one run-in with death, and I don’t particularly want to tempt fate. That said, I have no moral objection to trophy hunting for conservation purposes; I understand the need. I just won’t be the one participating.
I fell in love with pcc’s a few years back. I have several now. Lots of fun
what i would give for some of that sort of stuff here in australia. BTW i have been telling people for over 20 years that the only way to get australia back on track is 1776. TBH it will probably be the same as what it takes to get the US back to being truly free again too sad to say. in both our countries we have the exact same forces at work but here in australia people rolled over rather than standing up and fighting back hard
How about making it compatible with the P series mags , waaaay more of those out there than the 2 new models combined, and not everyone has jumped on the polymer/ striker bandwagon and still use the older pistols regularly
How come none of these pistol caliber carbines have levers?
Awesome.
The fact that this many people care about, much less use a muzzle brake on their AR15 makes me dissapointed in humanity.
I have one with a nice wood stock – called a Henry Big Boy in 45 Colt with a 16.5″ barrel. Only .45 I shoot, but the action is like butter, easy to cary, and recoil is virtually nothing.
If they just made one with an 18.5″ barrel, there would be a whole market in Canada….
Anything below that is Restricted and can’t be taken out regularly.
Hope that it is coming soon
I like my Sig MPX Carbine. It handles like an AR, so no retraining needed, and it’s as much fun as a litter of puppies. It replaced a much more primitive Uzi Carbine, which I don’t miss at all.
I pestered CZ to make a carbine barrel for the Scorpion, which they denied that they were going to do. They did eventually make a Scorpion carbine, but by then I was sold on the Sig.
I have a Marlin (real one) in 357 and Winchester Trapper in 45 Colt.
Excellent for deer and goblins.
Had a sub2000 in 40 but did not li,e it amd sold it.
Considered a CX4 but didnt likemthe sights and trigger.
I will add a new Ruger PC when the buying frenzy dies down.
Fun and practical
Here’s a cool trick, given enuff land. You can use a 22. Have barrel parallel to the ground, hold an object( Rock) with a couple fingers. Pull trigger and drop rock at the same time, the bullet will hit the dirt the same time the rock does. No matter what the caliber is , fast or slow. MPBR depends on size of the target.
“…when the rifle, as it is fired, is perfectly vertical.”
Vertical means pointed straight up……
which I’ve only done once, out in some dunes miles from anyone else, just to see if we could get the bullet to land near us.
Only with a camera, unless said elephant posed a real and serious threat to someone.
Though if that someone were a government bureaucrat, I’d be really slow to respond.
chuckhawks.com has a much more succinct explanation here: http://www.chuckhawks.com/mpbr_hunting.htm
And an excellent trajectory table here:
http://www.chuckhawks.com/rifle_trajectory_table.htm
Obviously your rifle will need some fine tuning from what’s on the list, but it makes a great starting point without having to sling near as much lead down range.
He discusses an AR with a sight center 6 cm above the bore center and then shows a chart using a hunting rifle with the sight center 1.5 cm above the bore. This is really poor writing and editing; it took a re-read to realize that the chart and text do not match. The gundata.com calculator and chart is available free. I am not sure what round he is using, because I get a longer second zero distance (using 55 grain Fiocchi FMJ as a proxy for cheap enough to afford for practice.)
I have a CZ Scorpion and a 9mm AR with a 16″ barrel. My local range doesn’t allow rifle calibers in the tactical bay, but PCCs are GTG. I went there with a few friends and we went crazy in the cold weather blasting steel. It’s a lot of fun, I just needed to bring a lot more ammo. 200 rounds wasn’t enough.
The effect of coriolis on shooting is actually pretty simple. The thing to remember is that, because the earth rotates on its axis, both the shooter and the target are moving. Their speed depends on their distance from the earth’s axis of rotation. It is highest at the equator and decreases with distance from the equator. At 60 degrees north or south latitude, the speed drops by half. At the poles, the speed is zero. You aren’t going anywhere. You are just spinning in place.
If your target is north or south of you, its speed is different from yours. It’s exactly like shooting from a moving vehicle at a target in another moving vehicle. If the target vehicle is moving faster than you, you have to lead the target. If you are moving faster than the target vehicle, you need to aim behind to score a hit.
A rigorous analysis of coriolis involves advanced mathematical operations like the cross product of vectors. Spend an hour studying that stuff and you will be ready for a stiff drink.
While the cross product of vectors is the most compact expression of the calculations needed, only simple trig is required. If you can do a back of envelope calculations using trig, you can calculate the Coriolis “force”. No advanced math needed.
Math Major, physics minor.

Comment if u like freedom and ur not a subject!
Banned! Semi-autos,lever-action,pump-action,bolt-action,double barrel,single-shot guns then black powder…its all in the Anti-gun Bloomberg BAN ALL play book!
UN-elected and appointed Department of Justice officials issuing a Notice of Proposed Rule-Making (NPRM) and BATF Regulatory Affairs, Enforcement Programs Services rewriting gun laws concerning what constitutes a NFA item or Machine-gun should worry everyone especially pro freedom people. Without our overwhelming input ..bump stocks and other devices of a gun could become banned or NFA items. Please help by sharing with all you know on all of ur platforms please! Its Very Important! Thanks!
If I had the money, I would buy one and disable the electronics. I think it’s a pretty good-looking gun.
Why is this chambered in 9mm Ruger ? Instead of .40 S&W or 357sig… I mean comon? How can anyone take this weirdo gun seriously??? Leave it to Ruger to create a weaker calibered “tactical” 9mm semi auto Duke Nukem toy looking gun with less bite power than a doberman. Who in the hell would use this? Up the caliber to a higher velocity .40S&W and 357sig and it increases the usefulness of this type of gun tremendously. Until then blargh and bah hambug.
In the long run, all blue states will become Chicago unless the Democrat crime syndicate is shattered. This will happen because gun control is now a pillar of their party platform. There no way for them now to abandon it and save face.
I have no idea how well she really shoots, but posting that particular picture set her up for instant criticism. That is what a noobie looks like when you have them take their first shots. Only after they miss (probably missing high since the gun is held low) a few times do they learn that they have to get down on the gun in order to aim it.
A different picture would have better served her purpose.
Yes. Twice. But I prefer Cape buffalo hunting.
In Re: MLee’s post December 28, 2017 at 00:02:
I have 5 Corvettes in my collection, two of which are bright red, the other three are blue and I do not open carry, so there goes your theory about that.
I have been playing with cars as long as I have been firearms and I have been conceal carrying for 40 years. I am a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer and have my Concealed Carry License.
For concealed carry, I chose the sub-compact .45ACP Springfield XD MOD.2 (XDG) because it has more features, is the same size as the 9mm Springfield XDS and S&W M&P Shield, but holds 13+1 rounds of .45 ACP +P.
I feed it Winchester Ranger T-Series (RA45TP) 230 grain JHP .45 ACP +P (the successor to the Black Talon) ammunition because it consistently expands to 1-inch and penetrates 14.5″ in the FBI heavy clothing, sheet metal, drywall, plywood, and auto glass ballistic gelatin tests.
My second magazine is loaded with 13 rounds of old-school (green & yellow box) Remington (R45AP6) 185 grain JHP .45 ACP +P (1140 fps) which is no longer available (replaced with less powerful Golden Saber) and my third magazine is loaded with 13 rounds of Speer Lawman (53067) 230 grain round nose TMJ (Total Metal Jacket – much better than FMJ) which has superior barrier penetration and tends to tumble after impacting several inches of ballistic gelatin).
For my second draw option (aka deep concealment or backup gun), I chose the sub-compact Ruger LCP II .380 ACP (9mm short), because it is the highest quality, safest, and smallest .380 ACP pocket pistol on the market.
I feed it Hornady Critical Defense (90080) 90 gr FTX 380 Auto ammunition because it consistently expands to .52″ and penetrates 13.2″ in the FBI heavy clothing, sheet metal, drywall, plywood, and auto glass ballistic gelatin tests.
My second magazine is loaded with 10 rounds of old-school (white box) Winchester Super-X Silvertip (X380ASHP) 85 grain JHP .380 ACP (1000 fps) which is no longer available (the current Silvertip, that comes in a silver box is not as good) and my third magazine is loaded with 10 rounds of Speer Lawman (53608) 95 grain round nose TMJ (Total Metal Jacket – much better than FMJ) which has superior barrier penetration and tends to tumble after impacting several inches of ballistic gelatin).
For the wife, I went with the Remington RM380 Micro Concealed Carry .380 ACP (9mm short) pistol mainly due to the current post-Christmas rebate which lowered the price to $99 including two magazines. This deep concealment micro pistol is Remington’s improved remake of the $1,200.00 Rohrbaugh Firearms model R380 which is all metal, hammer fire, and with an easier slide to rack. A super value on an extremely high quality firearm.
I feed it the same as my Ruger LCP II.
why does it take a month to get a barrel from texas to utah love the quality doesit really take a month to go from texas to utah.
The Just Right Carbine works really well. And you can purchase conversion kit for other caliber. 9mm, 10mm 40S&W or 45. The 9mm I have used Glock 17 mags.
Definitely worth a look see. And so much easier to take down and clean than the hi point.
We have to keep the Senate for at least two more years. If we can manage that we might win a justice or two. If we don’t we need another four years of Trump and a slim majority of Senators. I hope I’m wrong, but we aren’t getting anything useful through the Senate in the foreseeable future.
I must respectfully disagree with the author’s premise that “homebuilt” rifles are any less reliable than those assembled by commercial manufacturers. It depends upon the assembler. The home builder can take the additional time to assure proper assembly and operation, unlike manufacturers that grab parts from bins for assembly and “slap them together” with time constraints.. In addition, in the case of AR-15 type rifles, those who machine 80% lower receivers themselves can hold to tighter tolerances, making a rifle that does not have the typical “slop” or looseness between the upper and lower receiver.
“Can speech be more stringently regulated in Maryland than it can in Montana? Do police have broader search and seizure latitude in Arkansas than they do in Alaska? Why no, no they don’t.” The implication is technically incorrect. I don’t know whether or not it is factually correct.
“Can speech be more stringently regulated in Maryland than it can in Montana?” – Since the question is entirely hypothetical, the answer is yes. The courts allow quite a bit of regulation on speech. The states may, but don’t have to, regulate speech within the bounds laid out by the courts. So one state can regulate more speech than another.
“Do police have broader search and seizure latitude in Arkansas than they do in Alaska?” I don’t know, but most policing agencies have broader search and seizure latitude than Texan policing agencies. Under the Constitution, it is not prohibited for the government to use evidence obtained illegally by a private party who was not acting as an agent for the government. In Texas, such use is prohibited.
The Constitution draws a line states can approach but not cross. Some states get closer to the line than others.
Shut up and take my money!!!
MSRP $529!
Magazine capacity, buttstock, and pistol grip all make it illegal not the caliber…. Gotta love that SAFE act goodness.
damn good read.
Pistol caliber carbines fill a legitimate niche, expanding the utility of handgun cartridges. With that in mind the popular and inexpensive 9mm is a decent choice for a PCC- especially if one owns 9mm pistols. I imagine Ruger will release this carbine in other calibers in the future.
It appears Ruger has put considerable thought in this project. As with the brilliant and unexpected takedown 10-22, they may have a winner here. But it is kinda ugly.
.
My PCC is a Winchester Trapper in .357. It is solid, lightweight, compact and dependable, and chambering is common to revolvers. Using the factory irons it is accurate to the effective range of the cartridge. Various aftermarket sight options are available, and action work is relatively straightforward. Magazine capacity is adequate, though reloading is a bit tedious.
But: with no protruding mag, and no “evil” features it is unlikely to be mistaken for an “assault rifle”. Well, maybe in Cali…

A perfect storm of stupidity (for all involved except the victim).
“Hmm… what does that do?”
No, its not right.
but, my algebra has always worked out this way.
Gun Rights + Government = Injustice
now why can’t I meet a girl like that.
Most people commenting here do not know what a proper stop-and-frisk looks like. They simply are responding to caricatures and reacting with unnecessary bravado.
S&F is NOT when a police officer approaches someone to ask questions. That’s a consensual encounter and the person approached is free to terminate the encounter and walk away at any point.
S&F is NOT when police stop someone and search them without any individualized suspicion that the person has or is about to commit a crime. Unless this occurs in a special circumstance (e.g., airport), it is a violation of the Fourth Amendment to stop and search without any suspicion of a crime.
S&F is NOT when police arrest a person and conduct a search incident to arrest.
A constitutional STOP occurs when police BRIEFLY detain a person for whom they have a reasonable suspicion has committed or is about to commit a crime and make inquiries to dispel or confirm that suspicion. It requires specific, articulable facts that give rise to such a suspicion, not a mere hunch. If the person is detained more than briefly, it becomes an arrest, for which the police must have probable cause.
A constitutional FRISK occurs when the police have reasonable suspicion, based on specific articulable facts, that a person is armed and dangerous (to police or to others). The police may pat down the person’s outer clothing only to determine whether the person is carrying a weapon. Again, for it to be constitutional under the Fourth Amendment, it must be based on individualized suspicion and not a hunch or random search.
What the PA Supreme Court will be deciding is whether the mere possession of a firearm, even lawfully, makes a person presumptively dangerous and subject to the pat down.
The federal Fourth Circuit decided almost a year ago in United States v. Robinson that merely having a weapon makes a person “armed and dangerous” and subject to a stop-and-frisk. This was an ominous ruling for lawful carriers of firearms, but you can thank the “law and order” Republican-appointed judges who voted with several Democrat-appointed colleagues to render this awful decision.
how serious is this? two dead a year? I’m of the bring back fireworks stance. even there though people really do not care if their neighbor has to work.
Bump Stocks to ban Denver.
Ban that CO, just like the global-warmingists said. Or was that CO2?
Doesn’t matter, ban em all.
I would think an arsenal is a supply point for a group of people, characterized by multiple guns of the same type, ammo and lots support equipment, both weapons and other logistics. A cache better describes a smaller collection for one person, but both intended long term storage. 3 guns and 500 rounds of ammo is just packing my bag for a quick holiday trip to the range, a quickie at that.
Honey help me find all the pocket knives and mini flashlights we have in the house, I have to flex for the Internet.
Can (CALIBER X) theoretically function in (ROLE Y)? Probably.
But is CALIBER X significantly outclassed by other options for that role? In this case, yes. I have a .22 Magnum rifle. I wouldn’t want to be shot by it… or anything else including a good pellet gun. It’s also probably the very last gun I would bring to a fight. It has penetration going for it but that’s about it. If you make a object fast enough and small enough, it’ll penetrate anything but that doesn’t mean it’s effective at stopping someone. Sure, an attacker might decide to break off his assault once he realizes you’ve shot him but why not pick a weapon that will work faster even if he doesn’t decide to give up?
So how is this modular or innovative? Is it thay you can switch uppers or lowers? The only innovation I see is the baby poop color.
Since the DW Vigils have an aluminum frame, does this mean the feed ramp is aluminum like the Colt LWT Commander?
If it cost less then $7000 for the receiver I’m not interested. Any rifle that cost less then $26,000 to build is not very inpressive, my friends would think less of me if I quit trying to impress them.
I got mine yesterday and took it too the range as soon as I could. It does have some kick to it, but I’m very pleased so far. I’m old and my eyesight isn’t the best, so I now have an inexpensive multi Scope/Red Dot/Laser mounted on it, but have not tried it yet. I had to buy it off of Gunbroker because it just doesn’t seem to be in stock anywhere else.
Love mine, well made shoots all three of my 9mms. wish they made a larger caliber too. I have a Kel-Tec 40 cal. and not near the gun as the Ruger is..
