There are reports coming in that there has been a shooting incident at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, where the NRA Annual Meeting is set to begin in less than 24 hours. Initial reports indicate that the incident happened at the Terminal B security checkpoint and that the person involved used an AR-15 rifle,
than committed suicide with a handgun. No doubt the combination of the weapon used and the proximity to the NRA event will be used to great effect by the media to paint the shooter as an NRA member and a nut job. I’m currently sitting in the baggage claim area of that very airport waiting for Robert to get off his plane, and will update with more information when I have more available than just my cell phone.

  1. “KHOU reported that an air marshal fired at the shooter before he shot himself”

Gee, an armed response may have averted another mass shooting…

    • Yea but it wont be painted that way. Only that a government agent protected their sheep and that we need them

    • Ah, you underestimate the gun grabbers’ ability to twist reality to their delusions. They will simply claim that this was an exception, or that the guy that shot him was somehow magically more “professional” than you. Gun grabbers don’t let facts get in the way of civilian disarmament.

  2. Air Marshal (i.e. good man) with a gun fired back. Criminal commits suicide. No other causalities or injuries.

  3. DisThunder beat me to it, guy shot himself.

Edit: details released, initial questions answered.

Good on the air marshal for bringing down the bad guy. Probably won’t be heavily reported as a potential mass shooting was stopped by an armed bystander.

    • Probably not an attempted mass shooting. Although mass shooters do tend to off themselves upon encountering armed resistance, they typically avoid places with armed guards, and they target innocent people first.

This guy showed up where he knew there would be armed guns and threatened with a weapon without shooting anybody. Garden-variety Suicide by Cop.

      • ?// An airport is a place fully of guaranteed to be unarmed citizens (and a bunch of TSA clowns).

        • Did you some how miss the loads of armed security personnel there are all over the airport? The average joe will be unarmed, but there are very few public places you can go to with more armed security people than an airport.

  4. Until proven other wise I am calling false flag. All these things are happening at just the right time to push the gungrabber/anti freedom agenda. Once Okay its a coincidence, twice its fishy three and four times well thats what we call a pattern.

    • Yup.

Let’s see. Man walks into an airport, with an AR-15, just before the NRA convention. Fires two shots into the air, then kills himself after being shot at.

      What does this tell us?

Well, first, he didn’t want to kill anybody. If he wanted to kill people, he would have shot at the crowds of people, not into the ceiling.

Also, he didn’t want to be taken alive. Whatever his story is, he wanted it to be told secondhand.

So he didn’t want to kill people, and he didn’t want to spread his manifesto firsthand. What could his motivation possibly have been? Perhaps he wanted to bring the “debate” over the AR-15 back into the spotlight right before the NRA convention? This has false flag written all over it.

    • If this was a false flag, it’s the lamest one in history. This will get almost zero news coverage.

No victim’s blood to splash around in = no story for the MSM.

      • Agreed Stinkeye, this was not a false flag or there would have been a real body count.

  5. false flag the timing of all these events is just too perfect.

had a longer response explaining but captcha is a PAIN not typing it again.

  6. It looks like the Air Marshall missed and the guy turned his weapon on himself. Good guy with gun cause coward to end himself, but the MSM will spin it that the good guy didn’t do anything to stop it.

  7. From what I can gather so far the story is:

    1. A lone man walked into the airport and fired two shots into the air with a rifle.
    2. An armed Homeland Security Special Agent was immediately on top of it, confronted him with force and threat of death.
    3. The man shot himself with a pistol just as the Special Agent shot at him.

Idle speculation? The guy may have been there to shoot as many people as he could before his time was up in typical nutcase fashion, and since there was an armed presence AT THE SCENE to confront him INSTANTLY, time was up before he could start Phase 1 and therefore initiated Phase 2 of the “massacre/suicide” algorithm.

    • The NRA REALLY NEEDS to get out in front of this and make a unofficial national holiday out of the fact that it looks like an impending massacre was stopped because of a good guy with a gun. Like pull out ALL of the stops.

      • I agree that story would sound good to the chorus. On the other hand the MSM story will read that a .gov agent stopped a crazed gun nut with a machine gun in a gun free zone on his way to the NRA convention . The gun free zone worked will be their headline, no need for regular citizens to be armed.

I don’t agree this is the story for the NRA to latch onto and empty our coffers since the hero is a .gov employee.

    • So the media will report that a potential mass murder was averted by armed resistance? Maybe we can revisit “gun free zones” with a fresh public perspective.

Of course not but it does fit with one of my favorite quotes:

“The universe never did make sense; I suspect it was built on a government contract.” Robert Heinlein

      • The national media will (and is) reporting that a gunman opened fire in the airport and one man is confirmed dead, without mentioning that the gunman and the confirmed dead are the same person. Counting on people will just read the headline.

        • Case-in-point:

CNN’s headline is (and I quote):

“Man shot and killed at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport, authorities say”

The comments section is … ugh. Grabbers and libs, while not dancing in the blood of victims, because there aren’t any, are dancing with “wow! So it’s true! If you’re a ranging lunatic gun-nut, you can stop yourself! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!! GIGGLE!”. ugh, I say.

          http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/02/us/texas-houston-airport-shooting/index.html?c=homepage-t

Read comments at your own risk (it is CNN, after all)

      • No good will come from this. If anything, it will be spun as another argument in support of gun free zones. The only thing that keeps antis from coming after the right to keep and bear arms is the complete absence of guns in the news.

Everything the antis know about guns they learned from the news. If they had a broader knowledge of guns, history, and the importance of civil liberty, they wouldn’t be antis.

  8. “As soon as he walked in, he just automatically started shooting quickly,” said the employee, who said her name is Kendra. “And we hear two shots and we just automatically started running. We ran all the way to the back.”

    CNN sure loves that word…

  9. Why is it always an AR? There are more AK here in America then AR yet everyone has an AR. I get that its popular, I love mine, but when we’ve got 3/1 AK to AR ratio you’d think someone would have an AK for once.

    • Hah! AK is now the weapon of the freedom fighter, comrade! Unlike your stinky capitalist AR-15. We have, how you say, win hearts and minds, yes?

  10. Did this guy want to go out in a blaze of glory and take a lot of people with him? If so, then the Air Marshall may have changed his plan. Mass murderers can’t wait to eat their gun once an armed defender shows up.

Question: Is the airport a “gun free zone?”

    • Yep. That’s a very strong pattern I see in most of these mass murders: The perp eats their own muzzle when confronted by the LEO’s.

      • I agree. It is definitely a pattern that the deranged individual is not looking for a fair fight, and many do end their lives rather than being taken into custody. This certainly qualifies as another firearm maliciously taken into a “Gun Free Zone.”

Or maybe not. The parts of an airport prior to the metal detectors do not necessarily make it a gun free zone unless posted. I’ve concealed carry off duty whilst picking people up at various airports before. Anyone have any more info on that?

Perhaps the plan was to take the gun to the *fully gun free zone* area past the metal detectors, and he was thwarted by the DHS agent.

    • The pattern is pretty simple. Phase 1 – Massacre until time is up. Phase 2 – Suicide. Time is up when someone is there to put the completion of Phase 2 into jeopardy.

  11. What the hell is an “intercontinental airport”? Is it some different level from an International airport?

    • I’m guessing an International airport could refer to a one-continent only carrier that flies between “nations” whereas an Intercontinental airport flies between continents… 🙂

    • Houston to Canada = International
      Houston to France = Intercontinental

      A Bit pretentious but accurate.

  12. You KNOW the rumor mill is cranking hard: “I just heard on TV that Bush was shot at an airport!”

  13. He wanted suicide by cop. If not, the first two shots would not have been into the ceiling. Mental health reform anyone?

Better yet, societal reform; people rarely just snap and go bad on their own. They are like fruit left on the counter; slow decay. Mental heath reform only catches the ones they identify. Kind of like how cops catch criminals, always after the crime. Societal reforms stops people from becoming criminals and crackpots.

    • Nah no reforms, just gun bans. Afterall, if we take away guns then crazy people cant commit crime. Duh! Besides, its cruel and unusual to punish crimminals.

    • I initially thought that too, but if he wanted suicide by cop then why was he in such a rush to shoot himself as soon as he realized suicide by cop was imminent?

    • Not quite suicide by cop. More likely, he wanted to kill himself, but wanted to be sure he got on the TV news. He shoots himself in his sad apartment or wherever, it barely gets mentioned in the local paper. He shoots himself in a crowded airport, he’ll get at least a few minutes of coverage on the national level.

Possibly he thought he’d do a spree killing, but once he got to the shooting people part, realized he didn’t have the stomach for it (hence the shooting into the air, not the crowd).

  14. Manchurian Candidate. Self terminate upon first encounter with LEO or serious resistance. An arrest would be problematic to say the least.

  15. Tin Foil Hat time! That’s just TOO convenient. I’m gonna guess he is white, male, late twenties/early thirties, was on anti-depressants, now or recently, and was a bright promising student at one point but dropped out mysteriously – probably an internship with a government agency at some point in there as well.

Ok, final answer! Do I win?

  16. Potential mass shooter kills himself at the first sign of armed resistance. Any questions?

  17. I used to joke about how unsurprised I would be if the antis recruited one of their own to “take one for the team”some day. This just seems too well timed.

  18. This BG has an AR fires two shots, gets shot at and so shoots himself with a pistol? I’m trying not to second guess the air marshall but why give the BG more time by ordering him to drop the weapon? He already missed the BG once, he should have put him down and not given him time to decide if he’s going to fire a few more rounds in a crowded airport.

  19. Breaking: False Flag Shooting Interrupted

I guess the DHS responder didn’t get Obama/Brady’s memo.

The timing? The NRA convention? It’s either false flag or an anti recruiting one of their own. At the very least, given the backgrounds of every mass shooter in recent history, he was a leftist voter.

  20. ON MAY 2 I said Death By Cop.
May 4th-confirmed. the guy left a note and told his brother

He used a Glock. the AR was never used.
