If you’re not familiar with Brugger and Thomet’s awesome little APCK sub gun, you should be (read Travis Pike’s excellent review here). As he astutely noted a couple of years ago, “guns this short are natural suppressor hosts.” He was hardly the only one to notice that.
Now, based on popular demand, B&T is offering a limited run of integrally suppressed APC9K gun they’re designating the APC9K SD2. The SD2 has a scalable suppressor that B&T says makes it the shortest integrally suppressed sub gun currently made.
Here’s B&T’s press release . . .
B&T USA is excited to announce that due to continual requests by those familiar with the project, we have been persuaded to produce a limited number of integrally suppressed APC9K SD2 models complete with its scalable suppressor system. This variant was submitted for consideration during the United States Army Sub Compact Weapon (SCW) trials, with said branch ultimately selecting B&T USA’s APC9K and awarding it the SCW Contract.
“To win a US Government contract, you must submit a product that as closely meets their defined specifications as possible — not necessarily what you think the end user needs or even a product that is scalable to best suit its future needs — as was the case with the SD2; the advanced platform was not what the Army required in 2019, but one we anticipate it may in the future” said Chris Mudgett, Vice President of Marketing, B&T USA. “At less than 15-inches in overall length, the APC9K SD2 is the shortest integrally suppressed submachine gun currently available. It is optimized for low visibility carriage and discreet deployment; while delivering unsurpassed accuracy, controllability, and ergonomics. With its advanced scalable suppressor system, the SD2 is a solution for your future mission.”
About APC9K SD2
The SD2 in an integrally suppressed variant of the APC9K that features a scalable suppressor system and M-Lok compatible SD handguard. In its shortest configuration, the APC9K SD2 features a 3-inch ported barrel combined with an advanced over the barrel suppressor that is fully contained within a short SD diameter handguard. In this configuration, the platform measures only 15 inches in length.
Should the user require the utmost in suppression in lieu of compactness, a second-stage suppressor can be threaded onto the first, providing APC9 SD Compact-level (mid-length) decibel reduction and size envelope.
The APC9 PRO is the workhorse of the APC PRO line and utilizes a hydraulic buffer system to drastically reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. The PRO platform features ambidextrous auto-folding, non-reciprocating charging handles, improved lower receiver ergonomics inclusive of side positioned bolt hold open/releases, replaceable M4 compatible grip, and Magpul M-Lok accessory slots on the forend. Additionally, the APC9 PRO is compatible with standard B&T, Glock and SIG P320 magazines by way of non-serialized lower receiver replacement.
MSRP = $3,965
I’ll have to break open my piggy bank. Anyone got a hammer?
Cool.
Now, repeal the NFA so the FA variant is OTC at a third that price.
“Now, repeal the NFA…”
We’re working on the next-best thing, repeal of the ‘Hughes’ amendment.
LKB believes it’s a do-able goal…
I will accept “good” in place of “perfect” any day of the week.
This whole post made me think of…”Say hello to my little friend”…

Just like a playboy model-another thing I can’t have. Thanks.
If B&T keeps this up, I am going to be living under a bridge…
