If you missed it, James reviewed this beauty back in March. But for you visual learners out there, the Grants have just come out with a burst review of Henry’s little lever-action lead launcher.

Who wrote this script? I thought that it would be a review, not a 2:50 commercial for Henry. I am disappointed.
I bought one about 8 years ago for my little brother (I think the barrel is round though). I honestly don’t know of anything bad you could say about it.
They do sound like they’re reading mechanically from a script. But presentation issues aside, if I were to start talking about the pair of Henry .22’s I have (a plain base model and a Golden Boy that’s technically my son’s), I’d probably sound a bit like a Henry commercial too.
Whatever else I may have chosen to take to the range, my little lever-action .22 goes along too. It’s an absolute joy to shoot. Going to the range without it just seems wrong.
I agree with Layne and Ing – there’s a reason it’s so hard to find a review of any of Henry’s lever-action .22’s that’s not crazy positive. For the money, I don’t think there’s any other rifle that’s more fun to shoot.
I’ve never regretted buying my Henry.
Is Henry still having production issues since Sandy went through the area?
I cannot find one in stock anywhere.
Nope, no more issues. Some of the employees from Henry post over at Rimfirecentral.com It is just heavy in demand. Lots of people want them. If you search online you can find them. Just have to keep watching or have your LGS order one for you. I was recently at Cabela’s and they had few.
I still see them in stock at Wally World and LGS.
I picked mine up in December, Love it~
If you have a big 5 in your area check it. I’ve seen them since Sandy at ours.
Lgs in my area has them in stock from time to time. They just don’t last long on the shelves. It’s on my list of firearms to get. My marlin 60 satisfies me for now.
Only ding on the Henry is the cheap paint on the receiver… But if you remove it with some paint thinner you find a great steel receiver. Look up silver boy. Great .22. Shoots shorts as well. Never had an issue with mine. Great gun.
I’m actually kind of looking forward to the day when the receiver cover on my Henry is scratched and scuffed up enough to justify stripping it down and making a “Silver Boy” out of it. I think that’s a great look for these rifles, but I can’t quite bring myself to strip the cover down while the paint still looks good.
I have the round barrel version for the last 4 years or so. I mounted a small 4x scope on mine and it has been the bane of the squirrels in my little neck of the woods. Well over a 100 taken.
On paper, it doesn’t measure up to the Marlins or Winchesters with the all steel receivers. But, in practice, I think it outdoes them both. Big words, I know. I own a BUNCH of guns and this one is in my top 2 or 3.
My LGS’s have Henrys in stock. On the Web, Kygunco and Impact Guns usually have them. They are a joy to shoot.
