To wit: a new CBS poll reveals that “Currently, support for stricter gun control laws stands at 47 percent today, down from a high of 57 percent just after the shootings. Thirty-nine percent want those laws kept as they are, and another 11 percent want them made less strict.” Note: this is also a cautionary tale. It seems clear that another spree killing could push support for CD right back up, maybe even higher.

    • While shameful-media does not see it that way. Waving the bloody shirt causes people to demand action. The media abides by Rahm Emanuel’s code-“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”

    • Because it’s hard to undo stupid legislation, and it can do damage before it’s undone.

      Best we do our best to prevent as much of it as possible, an such polls help.

      Yes, it’s a civil rights issue. Sometimes civil rights get trampled, or it takes awhile for them to be recognized in the first place.

    This is not an issue that is up for debate. It is a civil rights issue. It is an issue of national security, and of the distribution of power between government and citizens. And I’m damn ready to fight anybody who says otherwise, in the polling booth, in the courts, with my wallet, and, if all else fails, with a rifle from behind every blade of grass.

      The Left loves it when we mistakenly misquote. My “progressive” daughter nailed me on one recently and used it to totally derail my otherwise brilliant argument, ouch!

    Exactly. The ball in firmly in our court to now show that we are in fact committed to trying to reduce violence, and actually doing things that work (or have a chance of working). We will likely face another violence-filled day, and if we are not proactive now we may not survive another barrage of “how many more?” type questions.
