Shake Shack, the Los Angeles Clippers and Insight Partners have all been added to the “Don’t Feed Them” list of anti-gun-rights businesses by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

“When we launched this project,” recalled CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “we promised our members and supporters there would be occasional updates, and we keep our promises.”

CCRKBA’s “Don’t Feed the Gun Prohibitionists” project has developed a list of businesses and CEOs who have been supporting groups and efforts that push new legislation designed to impair the rights of law-abiding firearms owners. The current roster lists some 200 businesses and their CEOs.

The L.A. Clippers made the list because the wife of billionaire owner Steve Ballmer is listed on the SEC website as donating a staggering $3.5 million to the Everytown for Gun Safety Super Pac, Gottlieb said. The Ballmers have supported gun control measures in Washington state over the past few years, he added.

According to FEC records, well-known restaurateur, entrepreneur and Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer donated $5,000 to the Gifford’s gun control group earlier this year. Currently, there are 275 Shake Shack brick and mortar locations globally, including 168 in the U.S.

Venture capitalist Jeff Horing is also active in gun control politics. The CEO and co-founder of Insight Partners donated thousands of dollars to Everytown for Gun Safety. His private equity firm has raised over $30 billion in seeding a list of notable innovative tech entities.

“People can spend their money wherever they choose,” Gottlieb said. “Our purpose is to educate the public about businesses, and business owners, who use their money to support causes that erode the constitutional rights of millions of American citizens who also happen to be consumers of their products. We think that’s something our members and supporters across the country need to know so they can make spending decisions that don’t come back to hurt them.”

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

  1. I’ve never seen a Shake Shack. I quit watching pro basketball 20 years ago. Talk about yer low hanging fruit…

      • If you or any pro 2A friend or family member eat fast food, tell them to stop eating at the following businesses, which are all owned by YUM Brands which heavily subsidizes gun-grabbing groups:

        KFC
        Pizza Hut
        Taco Bell
        WingStreet
        The Habit Burger Grill

  2. Sick and I mean Sick everytown Gun Control Zealots share the mindset of the rotten cowards who assisted Gun Control nazis and Gun Control klansmen and helped to send millions of defenseless men, women and children to their graves via hell on earth. Sieg Heil, Sieg Heil, Seig Heil.

    • “Gun Control nazis and Gun Control klansmen”

absent from your list is gun control communists. why?

      • There’s not a shred of difference in a communist and a fascist these days. They are too blind to see that they are the same people.

        • They always were. There is no Right or Left. There’s the Constitutional Republic in the middle. Go one way, you have Tyranny. Go the other way, you have Anarchy. That’s it.
Fascists and Communists are both Tyrants. Simple.

      • I have complete faith Deborah will get around to it in the near future, just keep reading TTAG…

      • “There’s not a shred of difference in a communist and a fascist these days”

obviously there is to her (and she’s right). there is not a single white national socialist or klansman anywhere pushing for gun control anywhere, while overt boolshevik leftists posing as legal officials are frantically pushing for it – yet debw is loudly sounding off about naazi’s and the klan. why is that?

“I have complete faith Deborah will get around to it in the near future”

obviously she is diverting attention away from it.

        • The klan or white nationalists want gun rights for all?

I want some of what you’re smoking.

  3. I know lots of veterans that call them selves patriots, but actually NO their NOT…
They are rabid sports fans, and cannot stop watching & supporting the NFL, MLB, NBA, Soccer, the OLYMPIC’S ,you know, the sports that take a knee or turn their back on the AMERICAN flag. Then they wonder why I diss them, even after I explain to them they can’t be a PATRIOT if they support this crap. Anyway, good job CCRKBA.

  4. This approach is ill defined from my point of view.

A different approach would be to select a few that are struggling with CEO’s who live in red states where the company is struggling. Hammer them til a difference is made, no more than 5 companies, this list is way too long!

Let them die by a thousand cuts.

    Good luck with this list.

  5. Shake Shack? Its still okay to raid their dumpsters though ain’t it, it’s not like I’m buying nothing.
Damn I went on that gunms.com either I’ve been living under a rock or them prices seem high or I’m rich with what I’ve already got. $608 for an H&R Hunter used, wow. With everyone into auto loads youd think that’d be a $300 gunm.

    • “Its still okay to raid their dumpsters though ain’t it, it’s not like I’m buying nothing.”

You should be fine, just watch out for the rabid raccoons… 😉

  6. Well I guess its OK then for Trump supporters to be fired for supporting Trump!
That’s exactly what the CCRKBA is asking these companies to do under threat of financial boycott.
Only the CCRKBA is going one step further, its not just the employees political views they are attacking but the employees spouses or family members.
None of which the company has any responsibility for.
If the company supports a particular position, that is one thing.
Going after a company for the views and actions of its employees or the employees family members is neither patriotic or even moral!
I don’t shop at Dicks and several other places because the COMPANY made certain political decisions, but I will not boycotts a company because of its employees.
That is a slap in the face of the very Constitution and freedoms you all pretend to be defending.

    • “Well I guess its OK then for Trump supporters to be fired for supporting Trump!”

hey, we’re just playing catch-up. like clausewitz said, war begins with defense.

“That is a slap in the face of the very Constitution and freedoms you all pretend to be defending”

the ones behind the leftists hate the constitution and want to replace it with their own direct personal – i.e. boolshevik – rule by decree. this isn’t a political argument or civil disagreement, for them this is ethnic cleansing tribal warfare, and they’re the ones setting the rules. fine, we’ll play, and better than them. if they don’t like it then they can get over their superior attitude and respect everyone else first.

    • Excerpt from CCRKBA website:

“We’re not calling for a boycott of these companies,” Gottlieb explained. “Businesses and the people who own them can support whatever kind of philosophy they want, and gun owning consumers can likewise not spend any money with those firms. Let the marketplace decide.”…
No one is asking you or anyone else to “financially boycott” any company fo ANY reason, they have simply made the information available for you to use as YOU see fit…

  7. I financed my first car through Amalgamated Bank of Chicago.
I had a credit card with them since I was 18.
I found out that they were Anti 2A.
A call was made and that card was shredded after I found out they were one in the same.
They were told the reason why and to not send a new card when the shredded one expired.
I could go into details about how I never eat at any of the fast food places on the list.
That really isn’t about the 2A, I just don’t consider it food.
The Whopper was bad enough but the Impossible Whopper? No.
Uber and Lyft? Doesn’t anyone have friends anymore?
Besides I was rear-ended by an Uber, their insurance is an evil nightmare.
There are a few on the list that I do business with, I knew that Costco was Anti 2A.
My store isn’t posted and really doesn’t care if you carry.
I could on and on but I try and not to do business with most of them.
I’m stuck with Comcast until my contract expires, they could make guns for all I care.
They have priced themselves right out of my house.
I canceled HBO Max after watching Wonder Woman 1984.
I may need therapy after watching that god awful horrible movie.

    • I dont know about that movie, I did notice the jail cell had a pillow on the cot. Must be nice, the last two times I went to jail I didnt get no pillow, well no sheet for that matter. Just a sht blanket and a thin blue mattress, a cup( somebody took a pencil and wrote all over it) a little tube of toothpaste, little toothbrush, a cheap plastic comb, and a little pencil, no paper. I guess that’s why they wrote on the cup?
I feel left out, I didn’t get no pillow. If I ever go to jail again I want the ones that give you a pillow damn it . In making some phone calls, you reckon they’ll think I’m nuts if I ask , ” Does your jail have pillows?”

    • “I never eat at any of the fast food places on the list … I just don’t consider it food”

      it isn’t.

after my surgery I had to be at the hospital every morning at 0700, so I was driving by mcdonald’s at 0630 christmas morning. the drive through line was already around the building and out into the street blocking traffic. I don’t know what they’re putting in those happy meals but I don’t want anything to do with it.

      • McDonald’s isn’t even on the list but never was food.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a McRib was kosher.
Whatever they wash the lettuce in is what hazmat fires are.
Yum Brands was formed by Pepsi.
This was KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s and A&W.
Yum claims they sold Long John Silver’s and A&W in 2011.
The problem I have with that is there was a Taco Bell Long John Silver’s combo restaurant down the street until about 5 years ago.
When I was a kid you knew you were in the boonies when there was a A&W.
Yelp is basically an extortion scheme, I wouldn’t feed Sonic to my dog,
AT&T is a joke compared to Verizon, GEICO makes you go to bad body shops (they cant match paint – ask my neighbor who sold his car after a fender bender),
I thought Gateway Computers folded about 20 years ago.
I have eaten Subway and Chipotle twice just to make sure it isn’t me having a bad day. How do people eat that nasty crap? Don’t they realize there are decent Sub places and REAL Mexican food? Panera Bread? I went there once and the place was literally on fire. The Fire Dept had me move my Jeep when the firetruck showed up.
eBay and PayPal? As in I got scammed on eBay and PayPal refused to pay for an online ammo/gun parts order but the place should have known not to put ammo on the invoice.

Like I wrote, I could go on and on.

  8. Good luck not using or or buying from all these 200 companys. If you are reading this, you are probably using/paying one right now.

  9. I looked at the list and I counted 5 that I have done business with.
I think it’s damn near impossible to not deal with at least a few.
Doesn’t mean I give them a lot of money but I do like my Whoppers occasionally.

  10. I feel REALLY special, I’ve been sent to “moderation jail” two days in a row… Yesterdays post (which contained NO disparaging, sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic or personal dispersions OR evil four letter words just like todays post) was finally pardoned and released on the public… Further guidance from the powers that be at TTAG might be helpful, or at least an explanation of the selection process… Some might become discouraged and possibly even consider a boycott of TTAG if this were to continue…

    • Now THAT is class, sending my complaint about moderation jail to moderation jail? Wow I really MUST be special… See ya…

  11. Any actually believe the CEO won’t get paid if business drops? Me either. Sure, we can all ditch Microsoft. Good luck with that one.

  12. 25% of that list, you’re supporting just by turning on your PC and reading this comment. Turning on your TV supports another 25% of that list.

I see two or three that make money just from us waking up in the morning.

The CCRKBA needs to adjust and have some realistic expectations.
