“Henceforth, anyone who is caught bringing a firearm through airport security can forget about ever getting the gun back, Clayton (GA) Solicitor General Tasha Mosley tellsĀ Channel 2 Action News. The weapon will be destroyed, she said.”

  1. I do find it hard to have sympathy for anyone that can’t accomplish the simple task of making sure they don’t have a gun in their luggage.

  2. If I did that, the confiscation is nothing.

Trying to splain it to my wife, that is the horror of my world.

  3. Maybe this will act as a good deterrent. I don’t like the idea of someone taking my guns, but forgetting where you put your gun is unsafe.

  4. Sometimes harsh medicine is best.

Anyone dumb enough to not know that their gun is in their carry-on luggage, or even not declare it in their check-bag deserves to have their ass kicked.

Maybe we could also force them to sit in front of the security check area wearing a tutu and a dunce cap and holding a sign that proclaims their idiocy.

I bet you wouldn’t have a lot of repeat offenders.

I am all for the 2nd amendment and people having guns in places where they are appropriate. But, a Pressurized aircraft cabin at 36,000ft is NOT a place to have any kind of gun or any kind of projectile weapon. I dont even like the idea of an Air Marshal having a loaded gun on a plane. If you put a hole in the aircraft skin and the sudden depressurization can cause the airplane to break apart. Usually it will just tear off a large chunk of the fuselage, but that could cause the airplane to lose control and crash.

As far as I am concerned, the only kind of weapons that should be allowed on planes – for federal marshal’s included – are things like tazers, stun guns, and mace because these things cannot puncture the thin aluminum skin of the plane.

    Nope. Not gonna happen.

There is a vent in the rear of the plane that adjusts the cabin pressure by venting to the outside to keep it stable. If you punched out a window with a round the vent would close up in response. Hollywood has convinced many people a small hole in the wall creates havoc. It does not.

An explosion that compromises the integrity of the shell while disrupting the airflow is another matter. Handgun rounds won’t do that.

    • Dont forget blaser safety slugs were designed specifically for airplane use. And chancing a hole in the plane Is probably better then just letting terrorists have your plane

      • Thank you for calling BS on this one.

I would prefer to get to the gate and have the boarding agent ask, “Do you have your own firearm or will we be issuing you one for this leg of the flight sir?”

  6. Uhh, so somewhere on Georgia’s books there exists an applicable law which provides for the destruction of someone’s confiscated weapon or is this a tiny tyrant extralegally destroying private property on a whim? It’s sounds like the latter.

    • Apparently the Solicitor General doesn’t feel that the judicial or legislative branches are able to come up with appropriate punishments, so the executive branch needs to step in to define the consequences.
