Since you claim to be an expert on firearms in Australia (as one of your listed enlightened nations) I challenge you to provide the process in my home state (New South Wales) to acquire a firearms license and then to legally acquire a firearm. And it took San Francisco PD a YEAR to figure out he indeed built and possessed an “illegal” weapon? Crack police work there. A couple of years ago, there was a local guy who was building full-auto AR15s for people. That investigation took all of a month.
