It may be fair play, but the way a Nate’s Bar patron turned the tables on a shotgun wielding robber early Sunday would also appear to betray a pair of two-pound hairy huevos. According to abclocal.go.com, owner Nate “Stritzinger says the suspect put a money bag on the bar after firing one shot into the ceiling. He fired a second shot over the head of his bar manager after she told the robber, ‘We don’t do that here,’ when he demanded money.” That’s when the plucky patron wrestled the shotty away from the butterfingered burglar and chased his ass out the door. Who knows, maybe the bad guy was a dim bulb (what are the odds?) and walked in brandishing a side-by-side — in which case the barfly only had to count to two to know the robber was holding a couple of empty tubes. Then again, if he was waiving a pump or an autoloader around, disarming him took the steely nerves of a riverboat gambler. That, or a bellyful of Jack.

  1. I do have to point out that unless the guy grabbing the weapon is wearing ear protection, he’s going to get a disorienting blast in his ear when the other guy says bang with his finger. That’s something to keep in mind.

    • But thats not tacti-cool enough.

The OpsGear Guys drive me nuts. He’s in EVERY picture of tacticool crap sold on their site. I dunno man.. For a while they had everything listed as in stock and it seemed like every time I ordered it took weeks to get at which point it would have been nice to order from somewhere else.

  2. That was risky, but hey it worked.

Next week Pres. Obama will unveil a new plan that provides for the defense of Americans. This new plan is called the National Affordable Defense Act or ObamaArms. Mr. Obama knows how expensive quality arms are for some Americans, so he plans to offer every American the opportunity to purchase two discounted handguns per year. The firearms will be purchased from major manufactures with the help of government issued vouchers at an 80% discount. The average Glock should be about $110. This program will in no way attempt to regulate the current handgun purchase process, nor will it limit the amount of firearms that can be purchased in the open market. It will only provide arms for those Americans who would otherwise be defenseless. Please support Mr. Obama by voting for him in November.

    May God bless America.

Paid for by Committee to Elect Barack Obama.

      • Well then Sammy you should move your happy ass on over to Iran and give him your vote. A vote for Obama is a vote for 2nd Amendment preservation. #OBAMAARMS for all Americans because #OBAMACARES

      • I was gonna say… YOu mean to say a glock would cost less than a Hipoint… What alternate universe are you living in.

  3. Even if it was a 2-barrel breach loader the robber could still have had a handgun as backup so the patron did take some risk. The manager’s naive comment was a good laugh ‘we don’t do that here’. I wonder if the front of the bar had a no guns allowed sign out front?

    • The statement made by the manager was unexpected. Such things can throw some people off balance. Others would probably have shot her for being smart with them. It’s a risky tactic.

Now scarier still for the would-be robber, is if all the patrons were packing and after the first shot at the ceiling, every gun in the place was on him. Not that alcohol and drugs normally mix well for proficient (and sometimes sane mental) use.

  4. don’t try that at home folks… Aubrey I’m pissed at you….I fell for that for a second…i actually got excited…that really ain’t a bad idea….

    • You got that right, but unless Jack Nicholson and Ice-T become president, and VP forget about it!!!
Course that wouldn’t be so bad, everyone would be afraid of us with those two at the helm.. 😉
