In the wake of the Sandy Hook spree killing, CNN’s Piers Morgan launched an anti-AR-15 jihad. “Show me one example of someone who used an AR-15 for self-defense!” he sniped. Again and again and again. Anti-gunners adopted the resident alien’s cri de coeur, constantly labeling the AR-15 a “weapon of war” useless for civilian self-defense (ignoring the fact that AR-15-wielding police are also civilians). We’ve chronicled several examples where Americans used America’s favorite rifle to defend life and limb. And here’s another one: “Jasper Brisbon, 32, wandered up to a couple late Friday at the Lynnewood Apartments [in Cheltenham Township, PA] as the pair spoke outside their unit,” philly.com reports. “Brisbon, they told police, appeared to be on drugs. He stared at the pair for several minutes before the couple decided to go into their apartment . . .

But as they entered their home Brisbon jumped between them, forcing his way in.

The male of the couple ran to get a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle and insisted Brisbon leave. Brisbon refused. Instead, as the man yelled “Stop! Stop Stop!” Brisbon moved menacingly toward the man, police said.

The man fired a shot striking Brisbon in the torso and immediately called 911, police said.

An ambulance rushed Brisbon to Abington Memorial Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. According to court records, Brisbon was awaiting trial on a charge of aggravated assault stemming from an incident in December.

Police said the residents of the apartment were cooperating with police, did not know Brisbon and that the AR-15 was legally purchased.

‘Cause that’s the most important bit. Or not.

    • He can’t. If he goes back to England he would be subject to investigation as part of the massive BBC child abuse coverup.

  1. Weapons of war are used for defensive purposes. There is a reason soldiers and police officers have these weapons, which is plain and simple self fing defense.

People like Piers Morgan aren’t for gun control, they are for a class system of, these guys have the guns, and these guys don’t. If they were really for “gun control”, they would demand that ar-15’s be banned for all persons that is gun control!

  2. The one shot “stopping power” only a rifle can offer…huh no one was killed by the round going through any walls? The lawful owner somehow resisted the urge to go on a killing spree inspired by his evil black rifle? Who’d of thunk it?

I keep a handgun and an AR-15 by my bed side to be ready for anything, the AR is to go to weapon just from a power standpoint. I know its all about shot placment but if I only had time to fire one shot at a bad guy before he was ontop of me, I would rather it be a shot from a rifle.

    • It’s also harder to be taken away and used against you. It won’t go out of battery is pressed on someone’s body. The fully extended arms with pistol is about the same length as a carbine which allows it to still be easily maneuvered.

  3. Maybe clarkson AND the stig’s Chinese cousin can team up on ol’ Piers? I keep my AR close at hand for instances just like what is described here…

  4. Yup. Cheltenham is just a few miles away from me. Incidentally, Pennsylvania has one of the highest NFA per capita rates in the country. (I know an AR-15 is not NFA, but it speaks to a state of mind.)

Queer as it is to be surrounded by New York, New Jersey and Maryland, PA is still standing strong! We even have one of those No-Enforcement-Of-Federal-Ban bills (HB 357) in process, though it’ll probably die now that the ban amendments were soundly defeated.

And TODAY is Pennsylvania Gun Day! Gathering at the Capitol in Harrisburg as we speak. Media black-out in effect, of course. Even here the media is hoplophobic. Heh.

As an aside, I wonder how it is these people are cooperating… I would think they’d be deaf after a .223 or 5.56 in an enclosed space…

    • Haha! I love how Piers doesn’t realize that “How dare you?” is actually a question, and then Ben Shapiro goes on to explain exactly how he “dares.”

  5. Good ending. But it was Pa. Shall issue state. The man and woman should have been carrying. Having to foot race a druggie that’s inside your dwelling means you’ve done something wrong.

Where do 100% of home invasions occur?

    • thats right yall, in the home. there are tons of ccw dgu’s, what we need is more ar-15 dgu’s.

  6. Here’s the real issue. Not that a lawful gun owner used a semi automatic rifle to defend himself, the issue is that our so called legal system doesn’t protect us: “According to court records, Brisbon was awaiting trial on a charge of aggravated assault stemming from an incident in December.”

How much do you want to bet that the ag assault wasn’t Brisbon’s first run in with the law?

  7. I honestly believe Piers is positive for our side.

I believe rational people who are on the fence or even on the other side because of a lack of experience with a firearm or a lack of ever looking into gun rights outside of an event in the media know he does not make sense. His existence drives these people to seek their own conclusion elseware, which is usually a good thing for our cause.

Those that buy into his stuff are a lost cause anyways and will always have an irrational paranoia about the ar15 no matter how much logic, statistics, and commons sense is made available to them.

  8. Thankfully, the police were there in time to talk about it afterwards.

The police prevent crime. They cannot prevent crimes. They were originally successful in the former. It took an armed citizen for there to be ultimate success in the latter.

  9. This incident sounds like a great reason to carry at home. Remember, 100% of home invasions occur in the home.

  10. I’ve seen Piers Morgan in the locker room if the sporting club sans clothes and he is quie lacking in the manhood department. 4 inches rock hard I’d guesstimate with a pair of nuts like acorns. No wonder he’s such a pissy little wet hen of a Brit.
