TTAG tipster DrVino is on the moveon.org hit mailing list. He received the following colorful communication:

More than 20,000 people signed a petition by MoveOn member Sandy Phillips—whose daughter, Jessi, was slaughtered in the Aurora, Colorado theater massacre in 2012—asking the DNC to reject donations from the gun industry.

This weekend—the DNC, the governing body of the national Democratic Party—heard us and took action: They passed an official resolution rejecting donations from the gun lobby and other corporate donors that conflict with the Democrats’ platform.

Additionally, dozens of members of Congress who have received NRA campaign support are now facing pressure from thousands of MoveOn members in their districts to give back or donate NRA contributions to causes focused on gun violence prevention. Click here to find out if your members of Congress have received money and sign or start a similar petition to #RejecttheNRA.

And would you know it, it’s true! As thehill.com reports . . .

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Saturday passed a resolution banning donations from corporate contributors whose areas of interest come into conflict with the DNC’s stated values.

The resolution, which was introduced by California member Christine Pelosi, passed unanimously. Christine Pelosi is the daughter of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). Christine Pelosi has introduced similar resolutions before that were shot down over concerns about which industries the measures would target.

The move was celebrated on Twitter by progressive members of the Democratic Party who have been pushing to reduce corporate influence in the party.

An online petition created by MoveOn member Sandy Phillips indicates that the resolution was designed to target “gun, tobacco, payday lender, and other corporate donations counter to our values.”

“Thnx Pelosi for taking a stand. Admire that you have always been for eliminating these positions of cronyism,” wrote Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on Twitter.

The resolution’s strength in the DNC is unclear. Hours after the resolution passed, Pelosi warned that DNC officials were whispering that the vote is not legally binding, allowing DNC Chairman Tom Perez to ignore it. Pelosi issued a call on her Twitter account, challenging Perez to uphold the vote of DNC members.

Wait, there’s another Pelosi in California’s future? Yup, one who’s worried that the “NRA cash not welcome” resolution is not as resolute as a resolution could be. Here’s the text:

If the DNC hews to this resolution the choice between anti-gun Democrats and pro-gun (at least in theory) Republicans just got a whole lot clearer. As if it wasn’t clear enough already, what with the Democrats’ party platform calling for universal background checks, a new “assault weapon” ban and a call to strike down The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Firearms Act.

  1. Well G they’ll take money from known terrorist organizations and known people that deal with terrorists just like Hillary did but they won’t take it from the gun lobby. Well good the gun lobby doesn’t need to be giving you money in the first place anyways.

  2. And look at the Dems who received contributions from the Political Victory Fund, spent them in getting elected, and now claim to be giving the NRA’s money to the Anti-Gun Lobby.

I guess that’s good enough reason to quit giving money to so-called “Pro-Gun Democrats”.

  3. MOVEON.ORG IS A DOMESTIC (AND FOREIGN) TERRORIST GROUP. SPOUTING AND SUPPORTING FAKE NEWS IN THE ATTEMPT TO OVERTHROW THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AND TO INSTITUTE COMMUNISTIC TERRORISM.

THEY SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF THEIR 501(c)(3) STATUS, AND BE AUDITED BY THE IRS/DOJ/DEA.

    • Since the DNC has said they will not accept money from corporations that do not support their values that lets you know the DNC is pro-sexual assault and harrassment.

It also lets you know that, also like Weinstein, they prefer powerless and unarmed victims.

I consider it a service that the DNC has been so clear in their anti-woman and anti-victim stances.

      • I consider the POS (D)’s relentless work on and for abortion to be that of “satan’s willing pawns” [sWPs]. They are a bent and broken POS people, all of them. F them all, especially their voters and donors.

    • Well, yeah, of course. But they will SAY they did! A primary tenet of Dem orthodoxy is that the voter is so stupid he’ll believe anything, just make up a good story and he’ll hand you the keys to the country.

  4. Well, it isn’t like they are getting a bunch of money from pro-gun sources. Becides it’s likely a conflict of interest as far as their friends at CAIR and Brady are concerned.

  5. “an official resolution rejecting donations from the gun lobby and other corporate donors that conflict with the Democrats’ platform.”
I’d wager they’ll still take contributions from police and law enforcement lobbies… can’t be a more clear conflict of interest than that…

  6. Weinstein child-molester-by-the-truck-load $$$ = OK ? ? ? But they turn down money from people hoping to prevent the POS (D) from violating the actual Constitutional rights of real U.S. Citizens.

    Hmm?

Bet they turn down a lot of donations.

  7. Conveniently, Operation Choke Point has already prepared a list of industries and organizations to shun.

  8. Gee, did it take this to understand which way the (foul) wind is blowing with the Dems? I understood this back will Willy Jeff was doing the nasty with an intern.

  9. So no more TAG gun raffles in support of the progtards? And I have rubles burning a hole in my pocket.

    • EDIT – Make that –

“Wait, there’s another Pelosi in California’s future?”

No, there are *two* new generations of Pelosi in the pipeline, a daughter, and a granddaughter :

      https://www.christinepelosi.com/about-christine/

This is the Leftists heeding the call to go even more Left.

We should encourage this political shift as much as possible…

      *snicker*

  10. Any pro-liberty organization that would donate to the Democrat Party has their heads screwed on backwards anyway.

    So this looks like a win-win. 👍🏽

    • I seem to recall Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms recently donated to Democrat politicians.

So, yeah, that sounds about right: both of those companies have their heads screwed on backwards.

  11. Dunno’ about the DNC but in Illinois certain gun companies DID donate to the enemy. Green is green Springfield…😫

  12. Wait, whoe, WHAT. Who’s believeing them lying gocksuckers. I bet a donation to a dollar they’ll take a Donation from anyone, I am not believeing them.

    • While they’re likely to lie about if they do accept any donations, Sun Tzu comes to mind: “Never interrupt your opponent when he’s making a mistake”

  13. Perhaps the DNC should explain why 7 of 10 spree killers are registered Democrats. A bit more than a statistical anomaly.

  14. … Pelosi warned that DNC officials were whispering that the vote is not legally binding, allowing DNC Chairman Tom Perez to ignore it.”

That sounds like standard operating procedure for Progressives who operate under the maxim that rules only apply to little people.

Of course our enlightened elite will do whatever they want, which includes accepting money from any source.

  15. It’s a turn on the old joke– What’s the difference between the NRA and a rapist? The DNC will still take money from the rapist.

  16. No doubt, they have their hands full with donations from HarveyWood and the enabling pedophile-rape culture.

  17. Well, GOOD.
The gun grabbers do not deserve donations from ANYONE except more gun grabbers.
Pro-gun people will not donate to the anti-American anti-freedom anti-2A Democrats anyway.
    They want to be dictators.

  18. Corporations shouldn’t be allowed to donate to politicians anyway; if that have money laying around it should be paid out in dividends. The business of business should be business, as the business of religion should be religion. If we wouldn’t want donations from Islamist organizations to further their agenda, we shouldn’t want donations from IBM or Wells Fargo to further their agendas.

  19. It is not uncommon for exile politicians to
mount an opposition from abroad, something blogs make easier, so caution is advised with the reason. The relationships you establish would be
the difference between your ability to succeed and time
wasted. You must realise that whenever you open a whole new Forex position that you simply are, in reality, trading currency pairs as a single unit.
