And damning stuff it is too, including a bizarre warning from ATF Group Supervisor David Voth’s emailed to an ATF agent unhappy about enabling gun smuggling to Mexican drug thugs. “If you don’t think this is fun, you’re in the wrong line of work. This is the pinnacle of domestic U.S. law enforcement techniques.” If that’s the pinnacle, what’s the nadir? And what of this? “Agents simply monitored the purchases of ‘suspect guns’ and entered them into a database of firearms ‘suspected to eventually be used in criminal activity.'” So the ATF knew full well they were supplying what the ATF likes to call “crime guns” to Mexican drug cartels. The question is, were Holder and Melson amongst the “they” in question. “The time for truth is now,” Grassley concludes. Ain’t that the truth.
Unfortunately, Chuck Grassley is the “ranking member,” which means he’s from the minority party and has no power. The committee chair is that sniveling pantywaist puke Patrick Leahy, and he has refused and will continue to refuse to hold any hearings. So, basically, we’re screwed.
