I’ve been waiting quite some time for Caracal to replace my carry gun. Regular readers will recall that I had a whole “Caracal C Held Hostage” thing going on. I’m pleased to announce that the series pegged-out at exactly 200 days. As of this morning, my Caracal C is free! Well, headed back to meet its maker, leaving behind its box-fresh brother. To make sure that the United Arab Emirates gunmaker’s trigger fix hadn’t ruined the 9mm’s sublime go-pedal, I asked Caracal to let me keep the old gun for a side-by-side comparo . . .

No problemo, as they say in Dubai. If anything the new gun’s trigger is a tiny bit crisper than the one that made me cray-cray in a good way. I’m just getting used to it again, but stacking three rounds on top of each other at five yards is pretty good shooting for Coke bottle bottom boy.

It’s official: you may send your C back with confidence. Or buy one warily when they become available again in stores. That is all.

  1. Glad to know. I got a call this week from Caracal that they will be shipping my box for the replacement this week. I’ve lost track of how long it’s been since I called, but it’s been several months.

    • Yea that’s helpful, I called the guy out on the comment and now you want to apply it to blacks . Man the Internet sucks, people suck, they don’t even realize what they are saying or even worse they do and think it is acceptable.

    • What was that old line about a member of a hated minority hating another member of a minority group?

    • Um, what has that to do with Caracal?

Edit: This is supposed to be a reply to إبليس, but the board insists on putting it here.

  2. I feel as if I walked into a room right after someone farted real loud. If you’re going to delete the racist comment, you should probably delete all the responses and references to it, so those that come along later aren’t confused. None of the responses have any Caracal related comments in them, so you won’t lose anything by memory-holing them all.

Glad you finally got your gun back from purgatory.

      • Nice, thanks for the tip. I’m in Seattle, but next time I make it over to the eastside, maybe I’ll be able to check it out…

  3. My son bought a Savage Axis in .308 that came with a factory defect. From the time he called the Savage number to the time he had his rifle back fixed was 3 weeks. Apparently good customer service means different things in different parts of the world.
