What can you do with a carabiner by itself?
Lots of things. I carry a large carabiner key chain and have used it to extend bungee cords and tie down straps, to connect chains, attach weights to light and mic stands, and clip bags and other bulk to my backpack to free up hands. I carry it for my keys, but I’ve discovered all kinds of other uses for my clip.
Right, but yours has a primary purpose beyond “being a carabiner”.
Perhaps the carabiner is to use with his para cord bracelet in event of an appropriate situation calls for it.
No dude stick? Clearly not Operating.
