Paul, a quality engineer, apparently subscribes to the “two is one and one is none” maxim. If you have the pocket space and sacroiliac, why not? See exactly what this engineer carries at Everyday Carry . . .

A fellow Eng after my own heart.
I’m rocking two guns and a few knives myself.
2 of everything but mags. Just me but always have at least one extra mag
He has an extra mag, it’s in the extra gun.
He has a spare mag with a gun wrapped around it. The merits of bug vs actual spare mag can be debated. Im much more concerned with lack of medical and lack of handheld light. Weapon light is preferred as well but optional if one properly trains with the handheld.
Two guns, two knives and only one watch. Dude, do you even operate?
Right? How is he going to know what time it is in England?
He can’t operate in England, so why care? (-:
He might want to know what the current Zulu time is if he’s an operator and Zulu time is Greenwich Mean Time, aka the time in England.
Zulu’s? We’re operating against Zulu’s? This is what I get for sleeping thru the briefing.
Nah, JWM, no more operations. The Maxim guns proved to be highly effective.
[Jesus that’s an awful historical joke. I’ll go punish myself with a beer.]
For CCW on a daily basis two guns seems a bit extreme to me but to each their own.
Have you ever fired two guns whilst jumping through the air?
Yarp!
Ah this comments section is delightfully ironic. Whenever a pocket pistol only edc gets posted my constructive criticism is derided as uncalled for, mean and judgemental. Someone posts an edc with two of something and most everyone loses their minds and resorts to ‘operator’ jokes.
And now you know why I don’t post my EDC.. everyone’s carry is their own business and 99.99% of gun owners haven’t been in a gun or knife fight
As someone who actually has seen the business end of a gun and a knife I’ll say this:
Two knives: Understandable, do it. One as a tool one as a weapon. I get that and I’ve done it in the past (sometimes more when I can’t carry a gun). A knife is relatively easy to lose in a fight whereas a gun is not as easy to lose due to something like having your hands covered in your opponent’s (or your own) blood. While many knives have great grips, transitioning hands (one of the great benefits of a knife) while those hands are covered in something similar in slipperiness to KY is a great way to lose the item. You don’t usually do that with a gun.
Two guns in a carry situation that has limited use for most people. A backup piece has an application for certain people but for most people who are carrying a quality handgun reloads are much more useful. I’d swap out the Kel-Tec for an extra mag or two on the XD.
Strych9, I totally agree. For me the benefits of a bug are less than 2 or three g17 spares so thats what I run. Debating carry choices based on the merits of them improves everyones ability to make rational and well informed choices.
Swarf, like I have gotten for suggesting someone carry more I felt it an apt descriptor, secondly ‘everyone loses their minds’ is indeed an internet pop cultue reference. Seeijg as this is indeed the internet its use felt doubly appropriate.
Hannibal, I most certainly do not. Bag up guns and neck knives are prudent effective defensive tools and if op deems it necessary who are you to say he’s a mall ninja wannabe operator? I’m all for debating merits and having a little fun and will readily admit that sometimes my pointing out the flaws in someones carry is done in a sarcastic way. I always have the goal of improving someones decision making process and ability to defend themselves and their families. To not insult the carry choices for lack of efficacy but the man who made them with no knowlege as to his reasoning and life circumstance is asinine.
You have a questionably low bar for “loses their minds”.
Because guys walking around like mall ninjas with neck knifes and backups of backups so they can go to the Chipotle is funny. Get it now?
Wait, wait, wait. I thought you had to OC a rifle and be all tac’d out to be considered a mall ninja.
One full size handgun, one knife, no mail ninja.
One full size handgun, one pocket gun, knife x2, mall ninja.
What is the next iteration for the mall ninja?
I’ve been looking at these EDC pictures for as long as TTAG has been posting them, and I’ve never seen what many folks won’t leave home without: a pack of condoms.
Or two, just in case you find yourself engaging multiple targets and need to grab your BUC…
But Seriously Folks, an unlubricated condom can be quite useful for things other than it’s primary design purpose. For example, it can carry and store a whole lot of water if you need it to.
What’s a condom?
Why does anyone wear a watch anymore? Doesn’t your phone have a clock in it?
Habit. Some of us were raised in a non cell phone, non pc environment. Also, just for my case, convenience. It’s quicker and easier to look at my watch than to pull out my phone and then look at it.
Go ahead and try to check the time on your phone while riding a motorcycle. A wrist watch is in the right place.
To be fair, when you carry a P3AT that doesn’t apply. 6+1 is 1.
