The father of a A 33-year-old man was forced to shoot his son in self-defense after a family argument broke out and the younger man began physically attacking his parents.
Officers in Lenoir City, Tennessee, responded to the family’s home around 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 after a neighbor reported a fight, Chief Don White told WVLT 8 News. Upon arrival, they found Isaiah Gonzalez dead inside the home.
Initial investigations revealed Gonzalez had returned home and engaged in a heated argument with his parents, reportedly over his use of drugs. The confrontation escalated and then Gonzalez attacked both his mother and father. In an act of self-defense, the father retrieved a gun and shot Gonzalez, Chief White stated.
Both parents sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the altercation and were transported to a local hospital. Gonzalez’s mother was later transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center due to the severity of her injuries, according to WBIR.
District Attorney General Russell Johnson highlighted the challenges officers faced due to a language barrier with the parents, who primarily speak Spanish. However, the involvement of a newly hired investigator fluent in Spanish helped expedite the investigation. “
Tuesday’s incident marked the second time in recent weeks that Gonzalez was involved in a violent confrontation. On Nov. 24, Gonzalez was shot by Salvatore Mora Gutierrez in an unrelated incident tied to drugs, police said. Gutierrez was later apprehended and faces charges including attempted first-degree murder, according to WBIR.
Authorities confirmed that no charges have been filed against Gonzalez’s father as the investigation continues.
Late term abortion. Over due.
I prefer the term “post-natal abortion”.
I concur.
Ok boys and girls, darwin word math problem solving time. Select the correct answer:
A. Will getting shot twice within a few weeks of each incident concerning drugs give Gonzalez a clue?
B. Will getting shot in both incidents concerning drugs make Gonzalez try one more time to be involved in an incident concerning drugs?
“Upon arrival, they found Isaiah Gonzalez dead inside the home.”
So… yeah, probably C. “None of the above.”
It was a trick question.
I had heard of a father shooting his son here locally when the son was on a drug induced rampage.
I thought how could a father kill their son.
Then about 2 years later one of my sons who started doing drugs went off on me.
I didn’t have to kill him but it was quite a fight.
After it was all over I understood how the first dad could do it.
Whatever “Dope”(Meth) they are doing turns them into monsters not sons, not humans.
I’ve taken up the proliferation of “dope” around this area with the local police force however its pretty hopeless.
Seems they are really not concerned with stopping the drug use, they only get involved when something bad happens.
Can the drug manufacturers be stopped?
Probably not when they can make it using pop bottles.
As an aside, my son got rehab and is now a productive member of society.
bless you both. that shit turns you gray fast.
those nonstop brilliant minds are the ones i miss the most, but they all got what they asked for. once the switch is flipped there’s not much to be done.
I thought it was going to be holiday related. According to local news we had two double homicides and one double homicide/suicide. I’ve seen it before. Family loves to kill family during the holidays.
Illegal drug use kills one way or another. Sometimes it takes years…sometimes it takes just once.
“Illegal drug use kills one way or another. Sometimes it takes years…sometimes it takes just once.”
If we remove the stigma of drug use, by legalizing all drug use, things would be better, all around. Peace and safety prevailed in America after repeal of booze prohibition. The attempt to control behavior of individuals is useless, and leads to crime. Indeed, “Law” is the root of all crime; no law, no crime.
Well if we decriminalize all drugs,i would prefer useless dangerous druggies confined o camps rather than let them stink up th streets.
I would point out that being confined to a camp, as a drug user would not be the hallmark of de-criminalization.
If recreational drugs are decriminalized, could I get the latest allergy meds without a prescription? Or would we all kill ourselves without doctor and pharmacist oversight?
“If recreational drugs are decriminalized, could I get the latest allergy meds without a prescription? Or would we all kill ourselves without doctor and pharmacist oversight?”
Even asking such a question is proof the public must be protected from its own irresponsible self. Freedom, any freedom, is born of eternal children who think there should be no restrictions, nor any consequence for mistakes, or bad behavior.
In the end, government serves as in local parentis. Not some doting grandparent who just wants to see girls having fun.
Oregon tried this and it was a total failure.

Today’s drugs are not the weed of the 70s. Today’s drugs are made in factories and labs and are FAR more destructive than the mild stuff of 50 years ago.
It’s not really possible to be a “functional” addict with the high-octane stuff on the streets.
Self-indulgent satire aside, I have heard of shootouts where beer was a factor. But I haven’t heard of any shootouts OVER beer.
Not since it was re-legalized, anyway.
I, as a tax payer, refuse to pay for some ones addiction. Rehab yes, pay for their dope or paraphernalia, NO. Spend some tax money/LE resources getting them off the streets.
As a tax payer you should want your money used wisely. Billions, possibly trillions, ha been spent on the ‘war on drugs’. Can you name me one battle that has been won in that war?
Sure!!! Your rights, the rights of the sober, have been steadily eroded. Winning!!!
Family loves to kill family during the holidays.
So you’ve eaten my sister in laws Tuna casserole?
As the old saying goes, “Visitors are like a tuna casserole; after three days, they both stink!”
..or something!
Illegal peasants kill their us born son that was 33 years old and they couldn’t speak English after 33 years being in the US of A – What else does everyone need to know about this ethnic class of people?
My grandparents’ parents were immigrants, and lived in an immigrant community in Chicago. They never learned English nor needed to since all their neighbors spoke the same language. But their children were bilingual. My grandmother said that they spoke English in school, the native language in the home, and a mix of both in the street with their friends. Back then, about a hundred years ago, there were many ethnic neighborhoods in Chicago, and this was true in most of them.
My grandmother, who came from the old country a few years after her husband did, learned very little English. But all her 8 (or 9?) kids learned it as a second language. Grandma rarely left the house except to go to the market. She didn’t vote and they didn’t even have PTA meetings.
As a young mother, there was horse/carriage delivery, and then the kids were grown enough to send one of ’em out whenever something was needed.
There were no cars or planes when she was a little girl, and even when the 1970s came along, she was nearly blind and fully terrified to ride in any car at anything faster than 30 MPH.
So she rarely went anywhere, and probably didn’t leave the house once in the last 10 years of her life, except when they took her out on a gurney after she passed.
There was no need for her to learn English, except to learn her grandkids’ names and ages. There was EVERY need for her husband to be able to speak English, and he did. And the kids were all fluent bilingual speakers.
Should you learn the language? Yes.
But sometimes you don’t NEED to learn the language of the new place you had to move to because your husband moved the family to America and sent for you once he had the money for your passage on a ship. Her job was in the home, not in some secretarial pool somewhere. She was well-suited for her job.
rich…Right genius, if they only knew how to speak English this tragedy couldn’t have possibly ever happened and they would have lived happily ever after.
My grandfather who was born near the turn of the 20th century didn’t hear a word of English spoken until he went to the town school in Rural Wisconsin. On the home farm and all the neighboring farms there was only German spoken. His parents immigrated in the 1880’s.
This is nothing new. Nobody in my entire family ever went to jail, much less ever killed anybody in or outside of the family. That is something new here The only drugs they were exposed to were alcohol and tobacco.
Bullshit. Prior to 1905, it was ALL completely over the counter. Opium as sold mailorder to children who were encouraged to peddle it to their neighbors. Pot was legal to 1937. Meth (pharmaceutical) was easy to get legally thru the 60s. Not to mention barbiturates and chloral hydrate…
The Japanese and German armies ran on meth. The Allies used benzedrine.
Had your caffeine this morning?
Marxist much?
and paregoric was an over the counter baby laxative. mom kept carbon tetrachloride in the linen closet for stain removal and to soften gum stuck in my sister’s hair. you can still by leaches at some apothecaries.
Are these people here illegally ?.
In other news, a New York judge ordered Wayne LaPierre to repay almost $4.4 million, while the NRA’s retired finance chief, Wilson “Woody” Phillips, was ordered to pay back $2 million.
And they don’t even get the free range bag and ball cap.
LOL, nor do they get the leather jacket!
Well, they should pay something, that’s for sure. I just don’t trust any NY judge to do anything right. Oh well.
Do they get to keep all of the issues of Shooting magazine?
Wayne and Woody & and all their lackeys on the board ruined the NRA.
“couldn’t speak English after 33 years”
That’s kinda the USA’s own fault. You wont find leche written on a gallon of milk in Russia, nor will be the instructions on how to get food assistance or welfare checks written in Spanish.
As my father said, “We are Americans now, we speak English.”
I have to wonder whether the son was in a drug-induced rage or whether the son desperately wanted a fix and went Neanderthal on his parents for money.
Reportedly over his use of drugs.- Uncommon Sense.
I’m thinking poppi was telling his boy get your shit together and get a job.
Kinda like the scene off Cheech and Chongs up in smoke only “We’re Not Going To Have A Family BRAWL” didnt work out.
Just say at the beginning that you are talking about ILLEGALS! The survivors should be returned to their home country post haste.
Returned to their country post haste.
The illegal immigrants are here for the money.
Sue the hell out of the companies or people who hire them.
Once they can’t get a job they’ll move back(or to Canada), no need for a wall or ICE.
