Sheesh! It’s never easy culling through the tidal wave of worthy entries we receive in our content contests. As you may be aware, we have a uniquely talented group of readers who always put their best collective foot forward, making the job of picking the best of them more difficult than reloading a revolver in a gunfight. But now that Labor Day is in the rear view mirror and summer is unofficially over, pick one we must. The shame of it is that . . .

naming a winner and a runner up will leave so many worthy efforts on the table. Posts by John KornegayRokurotaAiden Pheil, Logan MeteshAndrew SmithAdam S., Chad Beaty and Anonymous come to mind. It’s a crying shame we don’t have enough swag to present to all of them. But such is life and in life, some rise just a little bit higher.

So without further ado, our grand prize winner, the recipient of a beautiful new Henry Lever Action Octagon Frontier rifle, is Bud Harton for his body of work, but his L-Lincoln, L-Lincoln 5 post in particular. Our first runner up and winner of a 50th Anniversary commemorative box of 250 rounds of Winchester AA shogun shells is Logan Metesh for his Little Rifle With a Big Impact post.

Congrats to the winners and thanks to all who entered for making my job more difficult. It was definitely worth it.

  1. Excellent choices; I very much enjoyed Bud’s articles, and shared them with my friends/family who are also PTOG & Vietnam or LEO veterans. And Logan’s recounting of his relationship with his Opa reminded me of my own Opa.

  2. I do not envy you the job you have picking a winner. I wholeheartedly agree that the talent in this group is staggering.

Congrats to all the winners and even submitters. Keep up the good work everyone.

  3. Good job Bud , concise reporting of facts and issues and I also noted you weren’t as combative as one could have expected in defending your perspectives allowing for good discourse . Well done .
Just because everyone doesn’t agree with your views don’t make em wrong necessarily , just human .
    God bless .

  4. Great job all around folks.
I haven’t been here as much as I would have liked due to furthering my education, but from what I have seen, the quality keeps going up. Keep up the good work.

  5. Lots and lots of worthy contenders among the entries. It’s both difficult and easy to pick the winner: it’s tough narrowing down to just one, but whomever is chosen, you almost can’t go wrong among these choices.

Well done to all of the entrants.

  6. As much as I would have liked for mine to have taken home the .22 Lever Bacon, I have to say those two definitely deserve the win
