Franklin Armory just released a new version of their Binary trigger. The AR-ELITE Binary Trigger is for AR platforms and now offers more options than the basic Binary kits.
When you bought a Franklin Armory Binary kit before you had to decide between a straight and curved trigger. I know because I just ordered one, and ended up going with a curved one myself. With the AR-ELITE kit you actually get both trigger styles so you can try both, and see which works best for you. Or you can swap out if you use one for a while and decide you want to try the other style.
In addition to coming with bother triggers, the AR-ELITE kits also come with multiple hammer, trigger and buffer springs. This will allow you to fine-tune the Binary trigger for your particular AR, in whatever caliber you’re running. The new more modular set up also paves the way for future custom configurations, such as new color anodized triggers and selector levers.
The AR-ELITE package will be replacing the previous separate AR-C1 and AR-S1 models. You might expect the new enhanced package to cost more, but Franklin Armory has actually kept the cost the same. MSRP is $429.99, which is the same as the old AR-C1 and AR-S1 kits.

Pass.
Would vastly prefer full auto but happy to see more options that build upon that idea. Probably would look more at a 10/22 for use but I could see potential for other non AR ideas (which probably already exist but no fun allowed in NY so haven’t kept up).
Binary triggers are a dangeous range toy. Nothing more
That’s nice still would get one and use it on several firearms including defensive if I could until full auto becomes an option.
Only dangerous if a retard is pulling the trigger.
I have one on one of my AR lowers. It is a blast, especially when used with a .22 upper. I plan on putting one on my HK SP5K.
Let me know how that ends up if you do it, between that and the original(ish) pattern were my first two thoughts for 9mm.
This is what I want to see on a Colt 6951 (9mm AR Carbine).
Controllable and effective for both home defense and range entertainment.
You don’t know what you’re talking about and obviously have no “range” time with a binary trigger group. While mag dumps with binary triggers are an expensive and pointless way to burn through ammo only slightly more accurate than spraying 2 foot groups at 25 yards with a bump stock range toy, 2 or 4 shot burst with a binary trigger are very controllable and accurate allowing 4-6 inch groups at 25-50 yards with minimal familiarization and practice.
“2 or 4 shot burst with a binary trigger are very controllable and accurate”
Don’t need to spend 500$ to do that double double thing… Further, what if you habitually hit your target on the first shot?
Some like to do it faster and find the money issue to be a non-issue……. awful lot of complaints against a near bust fire option when the mg registry has been closed longer than a growing percentage of the gun owning community has been alive.
It still takes time to adjust aim for recoil. I note 2x is the upper bound, not likely attainable.
It is not exactly Wyatt Earp’s day, but the first hit still counts, relative to self defense. A hunting application for binary triggers is a non starter.
That said, if you pull the trigger and take a fatal hit at the same instant. you will get one last shot off. So there’s that, lol.
Range toy. But if it pleases you, have at it!
Think more indoors at hallway distance especially for people who would have issues with shotgun recoil. Admittedly what I am thinking of is largely non-existent but a high volume of fuckoff is sometimes needed and often nice to have even when not. Hunting is……no also why several options have a normal fire mode it seems.
I recently bought one of these for my AR (gen3 flat trigger). No other reason than I thought it was neat. It works exactly as advertised and was easy to install just like other triggers (I had built 2 ARs previous to this). I just have to wait to really run it at full speed because the current range I go to is a stickler for shooting speed. I believe it was worth the money. I didn’t put the selector sticker on because I didn’t want to advertise to the range staff that it had a third position (that is also one reason why I picked a flat trigger. It is different from every other trigger I own.)
Uh, no.
Well yeah you couldn’t after all…..well legally anyway.
In addition to coming with bother triggers, …………. <<<<<< wtf is this???
But but but…mass shootings or something…we can’t possibly be safe or something with a gun that fires….twice….once when you pull the trigger and once when you let go! Why all life on earth may perish.
As you imply, very light recoil would seem to be required both for accuracy and approaching the theoretical maximum of 2x the rate of fire with a standard trigger.
“$429”
Holy crap! YGBSM.
LOL, meant for safe up top. Sorry about that.
No worries sometimes posting gets weird. I would also think MP5 clones and that m249 semi auto monstrosity would be good matches. I wasn’t much impressed with a version on an AR9 but that also had a surprising amount of recoil to begin with for such a comparatively small round in that firearm. Need more out of state friends for this sort of thing.
Judging from what I am hearing from an unknown someone about a mile away, it makes for well-regulated double taps.
… count us out over here in Minnesota – they’re illegal to posess after the first of next year. It was thrown in with 1400-some pages of an omnibus spending bill that came up for a vote with about 3 minutes left of the session, but Tampon Tim signed the bill – which should have become null and void at close of session due to the incomplete voting – over the protests of the GOP members. They also allowed a vote from a censured DFL senator who was arrested and charged in a burglary to break an otherwise tied vote. Just a glimpse of what we’d get with Tampon Tim as V. P.
Tim’s brother has some choice words to say about him.
Probably best purchased with cash at a crowded gun show and in disguise.
