To be fair, he only survived because he was busy getting arrested while visiting Nelson Mandela on his way back from almost moving to Idaho after he visited the Tree of Life synagogue to inform them of how he finished top of his class in law school before he lost a son who served in the military.

    • Yes I’m afraid so…

Our 2nd grade class teacher asked us about the future, this tied into math IIRC “how old will you be in the year ‘2000’, The Space Race with the evil Soviets, cold war, Star Trek, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea were things I watched and thought about in the 60s.

2nd Grade me: “The future is going to be super cool!! We will have a moon base, and jet packs.” ect ect

Future 2021 me visiting in time machine: “Yeah..no. The future sucks bad kid! don’t be in a hurry to get there.”

      • By the story line of Star Trek:
The biggest portion of the worlds population died and very few of the worlds governments still existed and THAT happened BEFORE anything we saw in the tv series.

        As to the future:
There is a price to be paid for the bulk of the population being on drugs and shifting all responsibility to government. It’s more “no fate but what we make” than anything else. Keep in mind that there was a central theme to what the 60’s were. So many of those grand visions of the future were nothing more than psychedelic hallucinations induced by druged up fools that never understood the need for religion, personal responsibility, family, or the importance of simply having a job.

      • “2nd Grade me: “The future is going to be super cool!! We will have a moon base, and jet packs.””

Joke from 20 years back : “They promised us Jet Packs, but gave us Facebook…”

Yeah, I had similar thoughts back then, in the year 2000, I was gonna be as old as my parents were back then…

    • And people joked about Ronald Reagan’s alleged cognitive impairment.

For Progressives that was fair because he was a Republican.

      • Ronald Reagan was formerly a Democrat. He never changed, hated non whites and guns. Dunno why you Republicans idolize such a shitbag.

        • We didn’t beat the USSR, they just naturally collapsed as all socialists nations must do. You cannot successfully operate a socialist economy. They are non functional. The harder you try the faster it will fall. Reagan just happened to be in office near the end.

Nazi Germany was another example. The Germany economy was a disaster. If the US had stayed out of WWII Germany would have collapsed economically by 1946 or 47.

He also presided over the biggest tax increase up to that time, and as governor of Kalifornia he legalized no fault divorce, granted amnesty to tons of illegal aliens, and banned open carry.

        • {Reagan}

“We didn’t beat the USSR, they just naturally collapsed as all socialists nations must do.”

He sped the process up greatly with his ‘Star Wars’ defense budget. The Soviets even admitted as much.

The ‘Star Wars’ missile defense wasn’t all smoke-and-mirrors bullshit, one of the things that came from it was adaptive optics, used in all the major observatories to this day. Ground-based telescopes today can see as clearly as the Hubble space telescope, except for the long wavelengths like infrared…

  1. theBiden lost a son in the military?
They’ll probably find him sooner or later.
Not that anyone really wants to.

  2. I was arrested when I was 21 for walking into the Capitol and sitting in the presiding officer’s seat. It was a Saturday. No Joke!

  3. This comment has nothing to do with this article but if you take the current worldwide number of deaths from Covid-19 and divide it by 7.8 billion (current world population) you get .06% or 6/100ths of one percent. The bubonic plague deaths were 8% of the estimated world population at the time. So I will let all of you who think this pandemic has been as bad as projected by those who wish to control you contemplate the numbers. Furthermore, you might want to think about how taking a vaccine that does not prevent you from getting the disease it was intended to protect you from and can still make you sick or kill you is any better than not taking it at all. You can have the same results including spreading the disease to others including those who have been vaccinated? Additionally, the idea that anyone has proof that it is the unvaccinated spreading it to the both the unvaccinated and vaccinated needs to show me that proof. There is no way anyone can prove that is the case, period. So wake up folks and admit you have been and are being scammed by those who wish complete power and control over you and to make this Country an autocratic ruled nation. While I believe strongly in free choice, I also believe your choices should be informed ones and that before you do something that is potentially harmful you research it thoroughly and don’t simply listen to what the power brokers tell you to do which in many cases is contrary to the science they claim to follow.

    • I make the same argument. In the United States, using the most inflated numbers they have, total deaths went from 2,9 million to 3.2 million. That means last year, an extra one person per thousand died. And yet people think we are walking around with ox carts ringing a bell while bodies lie in the streets.

      • The plague is one of a relative handful of pathogens that strike down people in their prime. I am grateful to the researchers who developed vaccines that prevent, and medicines that cure, those illnesses.

Overwhelmingly, mathematically, COVID is not one of those exceptions, but fits squarely into infectious diseases’ historical (and benign) role: To bookend the natural human lifespan by ending lives around the time we stop living. To remind us that prolonging death, decay, and suffering is not extending “life” in any meaningful (active, productive, and enjoyable) sense of the term.

  4. He also used to drive a semi truck… Yes, that’s what he said while visiting a truck factory. But remember orange man bad or whatever. How’s your gas budget going you myopic retards?

      • “Wolf Creek Pass up on The Great Divide, truck’in on down, the other side.”

        (C.W. McCall… 😉 )

        • “Me an’ Earl was haulin’ chickens
On a flatbed out of Wiggins
And we’d spent all night on the uphill side
          Of 37 miles of hell
          Called Wolf Creek Pass
Which is up on the Great Divide
We was settin’ there suckin’ toothpicks
An’ drinkin’ Nehis and onion soup mix
And I says, “Earl, let’s mail a card to mother
And then send them chickens on down to the other side
Yeah, let’s give ’em a ride”
Wolf Creek Pass, way up on the Great Divide
Truckin’ on down the other side
Well, Earl put down his bottle
Mashed his foot down on the throttle
          And then a couple’a boobs
          With a thousand cubes
In a 1948 Peterbilt screamed to life
          We woke up the chickens
We roared up offa that shoulder
Sprayin’ pine cones, rocks, and boulders
          And put four hundred head
          Of them Rhode Island Reds
And a couple a’ burnt-out roosters on the line
          Look out below
          ‘Cause here we go
Wolf Creek Pass, way up on the Great Divide
Truckin’ on down the other side
          Well, we commenced a-truckin’
          And them hens commenced a-cluckin’
And then Earl took out a match
          And scratched his pants
And lit up the unused half of a dollar cigar and took a puff
Says “My, ain’t this pretty up here”
I says, “Earl, this hill can spill us
You better slow down or you gonna kill us
          Just make one mistake
          And it’s the pearly gates
          For them 85 crates
          Of USDA-approved cluckers
          You wanna hit second?”
Wolf Creek Pass, way up on the Great Divide
Truckin’ on down the other side
Well, Earl grabbed on the shifter
And he stabbed her into fifth gear
          And then the chromium plated
          Fully illuminated
          Genuine accessory shift knob
Come right off in his hand
I says, “You wanna screw that thing back on, Earl?”
He was tryin’ to thread it on there
When the fire fell off a’ his cigar
          And dropped on down
          Sorta rolled around
And then lit in the cuff of Earl’s pants
And burned a hole in his sock
Yeah, sorta set him right on fire
I looked on outta the window
And I started countin’ phone poles
Goin’ by at the rate of four to the seventh power
Well I put two and two together
And added 12 and carried five
And come up with 22 thousand
          Telephone poles an hour
I looked at Earl and his eyes was wide
His lip was curled, and his leg was fried
And his hand was froze to the wheel
Like a tongue to a sled in the middle of a blizzard
I says, Earl, “I’m not the type to complain
But the time has come for me to explain
That if you don’t apply some brake real soon
They’re gonna have to pick us up
With a stick and a spoon”
          Well, Earl reared back
          And cocked his leg
Stepped down as hard as he could on the brake
And the pedal went clear to the floor
And stayed right there on the floor
And he says it was sorta like steppin’ on a plum
          Well, from there on down
          It just wasn’t real pretty
          It was hairpin county
          And switchback city
One of ’em looked like a can full’a worms
Another one looked like malaria germs
Right in the middle of the whole damn show
          Was a real nice tunnel
          Now wouldn’t you know
Sign says clearance to the 12-foot line
But the chickens was stacked to 13-nine
Well we shot that tunnel at a hundred-and-ten
Like gas through a funnel and eggs through a hen
We took that top row of chickens off
Slicker than scum off a Louisiana swamp
Went down and around and around and down
We run outta ground at the edge of town
Bashed into the side of a feed store
          In downtown Pagosa Springs
Wolf Creek Pass, way up on the Great Divide
Truckin’ on down the other side
Wolf Creek Pass, way up on the Great Divide
Truckin’ on down the other side…”

        • Not remembering US160 over Wolf Creek Pass into Pagosa Springs from South Fork the way CW MaCall did. But, then I was not haulin’ cluckers stacked to 13-nine on my Harley. CW McCall shoulda’ made the run over Slumgullion Pass on CO149 between South Fork and Lake City in a mid-July afternoon sleet storm had he wanted a real ride for a song…. Just pondering past experiences.

    • I found it weird he would claim that considering his wife and two year old daughter were killed by one back in 72.
