  2. i have the standard 91/30 infantry rifle. these rifles are a lot of fun to play with and they’re cheap enough to work on them without fear that you’re going to bugger something up. i corked the barrel and action on mine. opened up the rear sight with a little file work and replaced the steel butt plate with a 1 inch recoil pad.
    ammo is just about as cheap as you’ll find and quite effective also. as is i wouldn’t hesitate to hunt with mine if i kept the range down to 200 yards or less. iron sights and bifocals do have their limits.
