I’m not kidding. Click here for HB 432 which states “It shall be unlawful to sell, attempt to sell, or offer for sale a toy gun to a minor under eighteen years of age . . . Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than $2,000, imprisonment of not more than ninety days, or both.” The line “Introduced by” is blank. So who’s responsible for this affront to incipient masculinity? I found another link here, attributing the bill to SAIKI. That would be Scott Saiki (pronounced “psyche”, of course). He’s the democratic pro-smoking ban, pro-union, pro-tax increase state rep from the Moiliili, McCully, Kaimuki district. Or, as Twitter reveals, oenophile, teacher, father of two boys and professional fly fishing guide. I put a call in . . .

  1. You have to be kidding me! I sure this doesn’t cost taxpayers money! I grew up playing with Western Cap Gun sets, which by the way, are highly collectible. Maybe they need to concentrate more on our economy!

  2. I guess a minor will get these punishments as well!
