  1. I make my own “bore snakes”, although probably not as good as Hoppes; and ain’t smart enuff to operate the mult-itool.

That said, Christmas comes but once a year…

  2. I can see the value of a bore snake as a field expedient, but they’re too expensive to dump after a single or just a couple uses, and after a few passes down a dirty barrel, they have to have fouling, copper, etc. embedded in the material which is impossible to clean. Makes me think of reusing toilet paper.

  3. ATF is good n cheap gun oil -especially the convenience/dollar store “universal” stuff that I wouldn’t put into any transmission I owned. Good enough for cleaner-lube. One quart lasts forever. Between that and Fluid Film lanolin oil it’s pretty much the only oils I use at the range. Lucas Assembly Lube with moly is another product I use sparingly here and there when assembling a firearm after a deep detail strip and cleaning. People go nuts on boutique firearm cleaners and oils. I almost never use gun grease unless it is necessary to “glue” parts together in some rare cases of difficult assembly situations. Marine wheel bearing grease works fine for that. Use the bare minimum necessary to get the job done. The Lucas Assembly Lube works well for most any other jobs that others specified gun grease. it’s like 90w and sticks like honey. You don’t need much.

  4. Nikita Tesla I had a watchmaker tell me transmission fluid will work as a mechanical clock lubricant.
    I didn’t believe him.
I’ll give it a shot on a gun part though.
    Thanx.

    • Xdduly, my dad was a watchmaker. When I was a boy I saw him use whale oil before he was forced to switch to synthetic. He would have laughed at the idea of using transmission fluid in an IWC.

  5. All my guns are rusted shut except for the AK.
It’s the only one that held up to the bacon grease.
Oil is for cars and cooking.

  6. “After all, what gets measured gets improved!”

there’s a ‘that’s what she said’ joke in there someplace.

  7. I’m not a fan of steel cleaning rods, brass or carbon for me. Aluminum if nothing else.

  8. And don’t forget your Trump deodorant:

“Donald Trump Success Deodorant for Men, Stick Fragrance 2.5 ounces
    2.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
    4.34.3 out of 5 stars (407)
    400+ bought in past month
    $23.50$23.50($9.40$9.40/ounce)

Guaranteed to mask the smell of failure and desperation…

      • you can smell Miner49ers failure and desperation in his posts – trying so hard to remain relevant now that his left winger brain mush has been basically stirred and shaken by Trump winning the election.

    • That smell of failure and desperation is coming out of the Biden WH, the Harris campaign and all those people who voted for Harris.

    • Read Hunter Biden bought several cases. Even a presidential pardon from his daddy cannot cover up that failure.

  9. I see Miner49 up there. Selling Trump cologne.
That’s mighty white of him ain’t it.
Hey dumbass, how you feel now that a majority of us, the Electoral college, and Trump just sent your Kackling Kommie Kamala to the dog house?

  10. My favored lubricant is Pig Snot. The other oils I’ve used dry up fairly quickly, but Pig Snot is still there months later. (I live in a very dry climate.) If you can find it, give it a try.
