Thank you not only for your service, but also your intention to stand beside the American people.
Hear, hear!!
Nice
THANK YOU!
I really doubt he would stand by his pledge, because he removed his name patch and is covering his face. Why is he trying to remain anonymous? Do you really think that his superiors wouldnt figure out who isnt returning to base with grabbed guns, if they gave such a order?
Really he ought to be sending signed a copy to his superior officers, after all, nothing bad could possibly happen to him, since it would be a unlawful order to grab the guns of Americans, right?
People that we can use in our cause reach out to us and you bite at them, matt. Of course, gun ownership is no more your cause than it is barry’s. As an anarchist you’re hoping for a breakdown and violence to occur.
But for those of us that want to see the 2a prevail, we’ll welcome his support.
It is illegal for military members to engage in political debate while wearing their uniform. Would you rather him show his name and rank, causing him to be kicked out or charged with a crime under the UCMJ?
Yes I would, as the same oath which said he would defend the constitution, also says he will conform to the UCMJ. If he is unwilling to abide by the UCMJ portion of his oath, what makes you think he will abide by the constitutional portion of his oath?

Thank you sir for serving our country and more importantly- taking your oath to defend our nation from “enemies both foreign and domestic”.
The best one I’ve seen so far… thank you!
Same here.
Great stuff!
Amen!!!
That’s awesome!
On a side note, maybe that occupy the NRA guy was in the military. Ok, sarcasm off, that gives him way too much credit 😉
What was that poll I read about the other day, where 98% of Marines said they would not follow an order to confiscate weapons from civilians? That means 2% of them managed to be asleep the day they were taught that they have an obligation to refuse illegal orders. Glad this guy is among the Army’s 98%
Than explain events like Katrina or the Harlan and Johnson County Wars? And show us this poll, what is the sample size, 2 people? Here is a US Marine stating he would grab guns from Americans if ordered to:

I’m not going to feed the troll, except to say that if you personally know any serving members of the military, you know not to take at face value anything they say on camera about a subject like this.
There would certainly be enough soldiers who would follow a confiscation order, but also plenty that would refuse or go over to the resistance. There are zero of the second group who will tell a stranger their feelings ahead of time.
This one may be the best yet!!
It’s a sad day in America when homosexuals in the military can prance about with impunity. Yet, a man who takes his Oath of Enlistment seriously and commits to defending the Constitution is regarded as the unfit agitator who must remain closeted.
Impunity? So gay people should be punished? Nice tolerance…..
A man taking his oath seriously and having to hide is the sad part. That other part is irrelevant and really shouldn’t matter.
I rather have him on our side than worrying about outing him with his employer. What’s important is that we know where he and others stand.
He isnt taking his oath seriously, since his oath included that he would obey orders. And 2A could be removed just as 18A was.
It would be comforting to know there are more like this young man in our military who actually read and understood the Constitution they swore to defend and uphold.
I worry about another Katrina-type event where soldiers are tasked with disarming innocent civilians and readily comply.
Another illegal action like that could turn terribly tragic if the people say “No” and a firefight ensues.
The government used military contractors in Katrina – Blackwater. I don’t believe US soldiers were used. I could be wrong.
National Guard troops where used, see the video I posted above.
Thank you for serving our country and defending the constitution.
This soldier is a true patriot… a protector of the people and principles of his country. God bless, and thank you for your service.
“I cannot obey that order, sir”
Possibly the most courageous thing a soldier can ever say.
“I’m going to have to have that order in writing , Sir.” I know from experience that 1 line will stop 99% of the questionable bullsh!t generated by higher ups.
That and walking around with a clipboard in your hands strikes fear into the hearts of the truly inept officers.
Thank you sir! I hope and trust there are many thousands more with your courage and convictions.
I too am an active duty military Officer. This individual is just the first to toe the line of saying what we’re all thinking. There are many many more like us.
“do solemly swear to defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies both foreign and domestic” comes BEFORE “will obey the orders of the President” in the oath of office for a very good reason.
+ 1 on that NVGunner. Army officer here as well. Absolutely agree!
So what happens if 2A is repealed just at 18A was?
None of us swore to defend a Constitution that DIDN’T include the Second Amendment
Really, I just read the various military oaths again and its just says constitution, nothing at all about 2A. And seeing as how the military has grabbed guns countless times before, most recently at Katrina, I dont see how 2A is relevant to your oath.
Please Please PLEASE remove your metadata before posting these photos.
Google “metastripper” and try it out some time.
Don’t trust TTAG to do it for you. Mr. Army Anonymous, in under 5 minutes I (and any IG worth his salt) can tell that you took this photo on 22 Jan 2013 with a Fuji Finepix A400 camera. You used a Macintosh laptop to email the photo to TTAG.
The photo also says that you are a white male, balding, an officer, and you chew your fingernails. You probably took the photo at your workplace judging by the striped pattern on the wall behind you.
You gave a lot of inadvertent information that could be used to find you if someone wanted to start a witch hunt for “insider threats” inside the ANG. It takes more than hiding your face behind a piece of paper to remain anonymous in the digital age. Please be more careful. That goes for everyone.

Good advice. Thanks for the reminder.
That is not particularly identifiable, although it does tell us he forgot to set the date on his camera. And it could be worse, some devices like cell phones like to store geolocation data in the EXIF headers.
I am a Marine grunt. Myself and many others around me hold the same conviction. I’m glad some Army brothers feel the same way.

…actually, maybe not the mac. My initial impression was probably wrong on that. That meta data might have been added by TTAG. The me.com email suggests that they are Apple users anywey. TTAG probably edited the photo in Photoshop and then posted, but never stripped the camera info from your photo before posting
THANK YOU, soldier. MUCH APPRECIATED. If we ever have to meet in the bloody streets of America, I’ll be proud to have you alongside.
Pretty sure this has to be an error on TTAGs part but umm… why does this show up on the Irresponsible Gun Owner category? Might oughta review y’alls tag system for that.
Thank You for your service Army Anon!
You sir, are an American patriot. We need a million more just like you.
Which would leave 1.8 million out of 2.8 million who would follow orders.
Hey, military personnel, be VERY careful what you post and what you disclose about yourself. Especially you Officers, you are subject to Article 88. Just a forewarning.
i understand why you can not say who you are but i wish i could thank you by name.
also want to thank you and all the man and women like you in our armed forces that understand that you are here to protect us the people that you understand that you have to stand for what is right even if it will put you’er life in the sights of you’er own government i wish there where more people like you in our armed forces today and if that hard day comes we want you to know that we will be standing with you you will not be alone.
thank you and God bless you
Bravo!
