Some people believe the best way to avoid rampant violence in bad neighborhoods involves driving past them on freeways doing at least 70mph. In Illinois, however, even if you don’t stop in the most dangerous parts of Murder City, USA, there remains a non-negligible change of getting shot anyway. Or at least shot at.
Violence on expressways is so bad in Chicagoland that Illinois State Police have set up a website to track them.

Illinois State Police have launched a new tool to battle expressway shootings.
The new interactive map plots out every reported shooting on every Illinois expressway since 2019. It provides details on the locations, timing and whether there were injuries or deaths linked to the shooting.
“We want to provide this information to the general public, community stakeholders, our traffic safety partners, other first responders, and our law enforcement partners to assure them that we are committed to our mission of ensuring public safety on our expressway systems,” ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly said in a written statement. “Knowing when and where these violent crimes are being committed, provides us with another tool to combating these violent and senseless crimes.”
A database as a tool to battle expressway shootings? Is this really the Illinois State Police’s strategy to combat Chicagoland violent crime? Well, under Governor J.B. Pritzker’s administration, it might be.
Violence in Chicago remains dialed up to eleven so far in the new year. In fact, 2021 homicides rose to 849 thanks to a few of 2020’s victims finally succumbing to their injuries. 2022 isn’t looking much better with fifty folks meeting an untimely end in January alone.
Zooming out, aside from ballistic activity in East St. Louis, Illinois and the cesspool that is Chicagoland, there have only been about three expressway shootings in the state since 2019. Two near Rockford and one west of Terre Haute.
No doubt Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot would like to keep news of the new ISP website buried where the sun doesn’t shine as it doesn’t present a good argument for her plan to reimagine policing or the city’s response to violent crime. So whatever you do, don’t share this story with anyone.

The victim of crime cares not for the rate at which crime happens.
The victim of crime is a raw number. The rate of crime is simply a reflection of raw numbers of commission of reported crime, its another way to say how many reported crimes in raw numbers happened. There is actually no difference of type between raw numbers and the rate of crime, comparison to a per-population basis is used to represent the reported numerical clusters of the raw rates and not that one area is safer than another. And this “one area safer than another ’cause lower crime rate” concept put forth by cities and stats and gun-control with their “oh crime fell when guns were regulated” and so forth and so on in relation to crime and victims is the big deception and yet another false cause fallacy.
Crime can happen anywhere at any time, and it does period. Determining the rate at which crime happens in a certain area is not an indication of one area being safer or more crime free than another, its simply saying there was more or less numerical cluster of raw numbers of reported crime in a certain area during a certain time period.
“Chance of being a victim” comparisons are not actually the chances of being a victim. They are actually the chances of a crime being reported by a victim. Until a crime is reported there is officially no crime to report in the “stats” which is why such stats are deceptive because the majority of crime overall is not reported.
Over 40% of theft crimes (e.g. burglary, larceny, car theft, etc…) go unreported, over 60% of violent crime (non-rape, non-murder) goes unreported (including non-rape domestic violence), over 66% of rapes go unreported, 50% of the crime that occurs at a school goes unreported because school officials attempt to handle the situation and do not want to report it, Whites are more likely to let a crime go unreported than racial minorities but 46% of African American victims and 54% of white non-Hispanics do not report crimes, 67% of hate crimes go unreported, and a rough estimate places murder being discovered or reported only 37% of the time (also known as ‘hidden homicides’).
Areas with the less ‘crime rate’ are frequently hot bed areas of crime that remains unreported mostly due to fear of reprisal.
A persons chances of being a victim, or being in an area with crime, are actually far greater than these “stats” and “comparison’ numbers show. For every 8 hours a person spends in public near strangers they are targeted as a potential victim of a violent crime at least three times. If that crimes takes place or not is simply a matter of choice by the criminal person(s) doing the targeting.
The gun-control version is pointing to stats like these and saying that because guns were tightly regulated or denied to people violent crime ‘rates’ fell. Its a lie. The presence and rate of crime does not decrease because there is a tool removed from or controlled (regulated) in the society environment. Crime simply because less reported because criminals become more brutal with other means invoking more fear causing crime to be less reported for fear of reprisal thus it appears “officially” that “violent crime’ fell when a ‘gun-control’ was enacted. Its the same everywhere, even in other countries, in the absence of guns violent crime seems to ‘officially’ decrease because crime simply because less reported because criminals become more brutal with other means invoking more fear causing violent crime to be less reported for fear of reprisal.
So if you are in one of these fairy tale places of make believe where you are supposedly less likely to be a victim or supposedly less likely to be in a crime area – remember: What you don’t see and don’t know can also hurt you, be prepared.

The solution is this: WHEN criminals are detained, PUT THEM IN JAIL until tial, unless they have a solid track record of being reliable.Don’t want any bla jumpers, now, do we? Of COURSE not.
Once they are detained, fair trial. Prosecutors MUST work hard to prove the evidence is valid, the crime ws indeed committed. Judges who WILL apply sentences that hurt. No early outs, did the crime do the time. No plea bargains, (lazy DS”a like these) IN crimes where property loss and damage occur, perp has to make full restitiution before release, establish work cams where such people can work off their debt. No r=freedom til the victim is comensated.

Most gun crime is commited by young & foolish amateurs, mostly drug related at street level and most end in the death of the perpetrator. Most hardened criminals do not use guns because they know that they WILL get at least ten years behind bars just for threatening with or the possession of a firearm.
It seems then that CAPITAL punishment is no deterent. Why is it then considered as something of dubious honour that in the case quoted above that ILLINOIS in not in the top one hundred as regards murder!?

Two simple factors are the primary cause of our large violent crime rates in urban cores in the United States:
1) Elimination of nuclear family and Judeo-Christian values.
2) Progressive (Democrat) control of urban Hellscapes for the last 60+ years.
Outside of urban cores in the United States where nuclear families are the norm and Judeo-Christian values dominate, the violent crime rate is (for all intents and purposes) zero.
Freedom and easy access to potentially dangerous items is NOT the root problem. That is crystal clear because the 100+ million people in the United States where nuclear families and Judeo-Christian values are in-tact are free and have easy access to potentially dangerous items–and yet they do not shoot and/or murder innocent people.

I know cities suck, especially blue cities, but since we in the Red States rely so heavily on the redistribution of wealth from blue to red, what can we do to help?
They can’t be forced to secede, can they? That would eliminate blue funded handouts.

The socialist programs in place to take the wealth of blue states and give to the red states, depends on taxes levied on residents of big cities and ultimately backed up by force. One can’t look to corporate farmers due to the distortion of capitalism, in the form of agricultural subsidies and price supports flowing from taxpayers.

Take a solid look at where the shooting is going on in any city. 90% is in 10% of the community. LE deals with the same problems in the same neighborhoods every day. Those same neighborhoods are either taught from birth that the PO PO is the enemy, or are so frightened of the local gangs they don’t report crime, or don’t pass information to the police so the criminals can be arrested and prosecuted. Unless and until the people who live in these areas decide they have had enough and act, nothing will improve. The same gangs and criminals will run rampant and the bodies will continue to stack up.
