    • Mark Kelly didn’t get to buy his Mforgery. The store owner refused to complete the sale back when the press caught wind of it. I for one am glad for it, rifles should only be sent to happy homes with caring owners. Just like puppies.

      • “…rifles should only be sent to happy homes with caring owners. Just like puppies.”

        Awesome!

      • As an enthusiast of both rifles and puppies, a huge +1 to you sir!

I promise a happy home for either.

  1. These photos are only incendiary if you believe guns are the cause of violence, rather than just a tool.

    • It still is a murder weapon. I almost wish they would auction it off. I don’t know if it’s morbid of me to want to collect it.

      • I would not buy it as a collectable. I would put it into service as a target toy, use it up, then dispose of it like I would any other tool. Then I’d replace it with another tool.
        Time to demystify this tool….

  2. since he plead out, they can release the evidence. Maybe auction it off to give $$ to the victims? I bid $1,500

  3. From the DailyMail, “The 600 photos, released Tuesday, also show images of Loughner’s receipt for the motel where he stayed the night before the shooting, a credit card record showing ear plugs he bought and dozens of vehicles that were in the parking lot of the shopping center where the shooting unfolded.”

We need to legislate that all earplugs be oversized and bright red so that we can help detect these people coming.

  4. All I see are a bunch of tools. Am I supposed to feel guilty or something if I happen to own those same exact tools?

  5. It’s a GLOCK brand GLOCK and it looks like every other GLOCK brand GLOCK I’ve ever seen. Unless you somehow believe, Warehouse 13-style, that this particular GLOCK brand GLOCK is now an artifact, and imbued with Loughner’s evil/crazy. But I don’t believe that. So it’s just a GLOCK.

      • It’s called Goo. There is a “Goo Grenade.”

        Or “purple stuff.”

Or Global Dynamics Neutralizer, but I only know that because I’m a nerd. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually heard anyone on the show call it that.

        But really, it’s just goo.

    • Vessel of an evil spirit, a Glock that twists the owner into a crazed killer. That would make a good B movie, or an episode of a cheezy scifi series. Bloomberg would bankroll it I bet.

  6. @Robert: If that thing on the left is a mall-ninja folding knife, then this would be an appropriate time to link to TTAK 😉

  7. I can see how a 68 year old woman could rip that magazine out of his hands.

  8. I don’t blame the gun. I blame the person who used it!

What would have happened if JLL had used knives or a machete in his attack?

  9. Y’know, those extended mags are aesthetically displeasing, rather like an like an egg sack on a roach.

I guess I’m just used to curved mags with rimmed ammo, and set in my ways.

‘Course, I’d prolly feel differ’ntly ’bout a drum mag. That’d be real purty.

    Dad blamed newfangled guns…

      • After moving to FL from NYC, and dealing with fleas, scorpions, black widows, recluse spiders, palmetto bugs and the giant black grasshoppers. The simple little roach is not all that bad.

        • JaxD, I have all of thoes here and roaches about the size of a 50 BMG. For some reason, the roaches bug me the most, especially when I get in the shower, close the curtain and one of the fv@%ers is sitting on it eye level to me.

    • 9×666 Satan, produced by Evil (TM) Arms and Ammunition Conglomeration.

Coming soon to a Wal-Mart near you.

        • Also, it’s undetectable by metal detectors, x-ray machines, and K-9 units. It fires thousands of rounds per second and can shoot through several inches of steel. One shot renders the victim dead, usually blown back several feet by the force of impact. Evil (TM) Arms and Ammunition Conglomeration does not add serial numbers, so this gun is untraceable and can be purchased at any gun show without a background check! Studies have shown that a key component used in this gun is responsible for every firearm-related fatality ever. If you see this gun, panic, pi$$ yourself, call a SWAT team on your neighbors in case they might have one, and cower while the local authorities come to put down the neighborhood dogs.

        • You forgot the bit about overpenetration.

Fired into a crowd, it can pass through ten to fifteen people, mangling ’em all. Due to adaptive gyroscopy, it can change course slightly to hit the mst vulnerable part of each target.

Also, the sound of its near passage can cause temporary, homicidal psychosis.

      • No wonder he needed assault clips! The 9mm Satan is for those who sit to pee, it’s a good thing he didn’t use the .45 NRA!

  10. Tell me, how does the image of JLL’s gun and mags serve the public? That’s right, it doesn’t, but it sure as hell serves the interests of the anti-
gun zealots of the zeitgeist clamoring for the media spotlight and political gain. It’s Saul Alinsky’s Rule 13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. With support for new gun restrictions waning, what they needed was an new image to unite against. Voila, they release the mug shot of the attempted murder weapon and it’s long magazines. Here’s the face of the next anti-gun advocate. Mr. Semi-automatic…with large, high capacity magazines!!

It makes me wonder just how many LEO’s do support these new gun laws?
Do these LEO’s think releasing these photos serves some public interest?

      • I think you missed my point. They release them now?
Why weren’t they released the day after, or day of?
Why didn’t they release this on any of 315 days since
a crazy person used it to kill and injure people in AZ?

Nothing you see in the media is by accident, or by
pleasant happenstance. It’s exists for an explicit
purpose. If this picture wasn’t important enough to
reveal the day of, or in the weeks after, then it’s not
important enough to reveal now, at least, not to the
case against JLL. He had a Glock 22 with 2 extended
magazines and 2 OEM mags. BFD! We should have
seen these photos long ago, but here we are, and they
are finally released now. Again, how does this serve
the public interest, or more accurately, which public
interest does it serve? Ours, or the anti-gun fascists?

  11. The picture serves no journalistic purpose except aid those willing to sensationalize something… oh wait… I see what they did… took me a while because I’m a gun-loving knuckle-dragging redne, erm, asian-american… duh

  12. One thing that jumps out at me when reading the article attached to the HuffPo pics was the way that one of the people describes the gun.

“Mavy Stoddard, who lost her husband Dorwan Stoddard in the massacre and suffered three gunshot wounds herself, said seeing photographs of the gun that killed her husband was hurtful but she understood the public eventually would see them.

“It’s upsetting, of course. It’s what I know killed my husband,” she said.”

the part there where they ask her about seeing the photos that Loughner used to kill her husband…She says “…Its upsetting of course. It’s what I know killed my husband.”

This is a language construction used all the time by many folks (especially in the media) when talking about guns and violence.
“…guns kill X number of people every year.”
“…Guns are responsible for X number of injuries / suicides / murders per capita.”
    “It killed my husband”

If you were from another planet and didn’t know what a gun was, the way these sentence are constructed would lead you to believe that “guns” were some kind of dangerous sentient creature roaming around causing death and destruction.

Rarely do you see a more accurately constructed sentence like “People use guns to commit X number of crimes per year”.

  13. I may be wrong but are all these killers/bombers never work a full time jobs,, but seem to have all the money in the world…….. Does Well Fair pay that well… and can buy some the best firearms/ammo etc…

  14. Thanks for this post but I try to never click a link to Huffpo. I don’t want to give them my traffic.

  15. In any decent country, we wouldn’t be seeing pictures of Loughner’s gun. We’d be seeing pictures of his dead body.

  16. Those giant roaches are fun. You catch 2, tie them to you child’s shoes and he can use them for rollerskates.
