“Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,” President Barack Obama told a crowd in Mexico especially assembled for his and the Mexican President’s semi-deification. “I think many of you know that in America, our Constitution guarantees our individual right to bear arms. And as president, I swore an oath to uphold that right, and I always will. But at the same time, as I’ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people.” How does that work? How do you ban guns for non-criminal, non-crazy gun owners and claim you’re all for individual gun rights? Glad you asked . . .

Let’s assume for a moment that the U.S. President isn’t lying. I know, I know: why would we want to do that? A) he’s a politician and B) what more do you need to know? Whatever else that might be, I’m sure you know it already. But stay with me here . . .

There’s only one way we can make the President’s “I heart the 2A” statement square with his civilian disarmament agenda: broaden the definition of the term “dangerous people.” Redefine it to mean any civilian with a gun who isn’t a cop.

Makes sense right? Well to gun grabbers it does . . .

For them the fact that [some] law-abiding gun owners negligently shoot themselves or a child, or suddenly snap and become spree killers and murder lots of children, or literally go ballistic during an alcohol-fueled domestic confrontation and blow away their soused spouse, is evidence enough that gun owners are inherently dangerous people.

Using that incredibly broad definition of “dangerous people,” President Obama’s pro-2a gun control agenda makes perfect sense. It’s designed to protect Americans’ individual right to keep and bear arms while excluding dangerous people. Lots and lots of dangerous people.

Hang on, that’s not quite it. For the Prez to legitimately claim he’s safeguarding someone’s individual right to keep and bear arms there has to be some group of gun owners who aren’t dangerous people. And the answer is . . .

Hunters.

Sherman, set the way back machine to November 2010. One Craig Steele of Pueblo Colorado auctioned off a hand written note from President Obama that read as follows: “I believe in the 2nd amendment and the rights of sportsmen like you. Period.”

Need I say any more?

Only this: that is one messed-up way of thinking—especially for a so-called “Constitutional scholar.” It’s so messed-up that Obama himself almost backed away from it when he said his wife would want a gun for self-protection. If she lived in rural Iowa, her husband was away and she didn’t have 24/7 Secret Service protection.

Wait. Michelle? The President (who I’m thinking wouldn’t be the president in this imaginary scenario) wouldn’t want a gun to protect her?  Nope. Which brings us back to that whole “gun control advocates are wimps projecting their own cowardice onto American gun owners” deal.

And there you have it: a man who idolizes hunters and hates himself, who doesn’t see any irony in blaming American guns for Mexico’s violence when his administration enabled the sale of over a thousand guns to violent drug thugs. Remember: you may have been thinking it but you read it here first.

  1. Even though the truth of the statement itself is highly dubious, perhaps the president thinks that the few thousand guns his AG smuggled down constitute “most” of the guns used to commit violence in Mexico?

    • He conveniently omits that as half truth to mislead Mexico. Mexicans should know by now that he was the culprit if they have been paying attention to the Fast and Furious operation coverage by the media.

      • This might not be as big a stretch as we think. After all where do the Mexican military & police get their weapons? Since many of the cartels get their personnel and weapons from desertions and many of those weapons may have been purchased by the Mexican government from American suppliers…
        2 + 2 = 4
Of course, our “dear leader” has made the incorrect leap as to how to solve this “problem”.

  2. “Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,”

Mr. Obama knows this because he has the receipts.

  3. We must remember that Obama did not give guns to the cartels:he in fact was making a trade.

In exchange for ballistic hardware,Obama and his party gain emigrating future Democrat voters.

    • Interesting (but very evil) thought… Drive them north out of the violence, give them free stuff and teach them to vote… Heck you don’t even have to show an ID… Via La Democrats!!!

  4. i think its best he stay in Mexico due to the disrespect to the American people

  5. In only five short years, he’s gone from “it’s all George Bush’s fault” to “it’s all America’s fault.” I call that progress.

“Everyone’s out of step but my son Barack.” Ann Dunham.

    • … “Everyone’s out of step but my son Barack.” Ann Dunham. …

Now there’s two people that make my skin crawl.

  6. “I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people.”

Let’s start with the police and government agencies, who have murdered more innocent people than private citizens could ever hope to.

  7. Da Prez suffers from extreme narcissism, so self-loathing is not exactly a part of the equation. This point is arguable, but not here, not now…

If we want to understand what we’re up against, you first must recognize, and admit to, the pure evil that underpins his disarmament plans. This is a more competent man that many here want to acknowledge. He’s competent, folks, AND he’s evil.

    • I disagree: he is an incompetent president who is a pursuave public speaker, and much of the nation is too stupid to realize the difference. BHOs gun control arguments can’t pass any factual muster.

  8. Why would criminal organizations that literally have millions if not billions at their disposal waste their money on the watered down civilian versions of firearms, when they could just buy military weapons? Hell they could probably find an arms dealer that could get them some tanks that have been “misplaced” if they wanted.

I can see them buying cheap handguns through straw purchases here, but why buy an ar-15 when you could buy m-16’s with the giggle switch?

    • You misunderstand. Most of the automatic weapons used in Mexico *do* come from America. They are sold by our government to the government and police (same thing) of Mexico. Individual police officers and soldiers then pass them on to the gangs in mass-retail. Yes, they’re buying m-16s and mp5s rather than AR-15s and cx4s, but his essential point that most of the guns come from America is correct – they come from him.

  9. Are the capacity to tell a bald faced lie, brazen hypocrisy, and utter contempt for the intelligence of everyone who hears you now required character traits to hold national office for the increasingly Anti-Constitution Party?

  10. Here’s a simple political concept: Anyone who is too dangerous to own a gun is too dangerous to vote.

That principle is, in fact, already American law. It’s a crime felons and the dangerously mentally ill to vote. It’s a crime for the same people to own a gun. But our legal system is based on the idea that all other adults are able to do both.

    • I’m not all that worried about the dangerous voters. It’s the stupid ones who are killing us.

  11. What Obama is actually trying to convey was once codified as “Arbeit macht frei”

    • + Another >>> His statement about upholding the right to bear arms is nothing more than misdirection. He’s trying to get people to put their guard down so he can maneuver…

  12. Whats a matter o, civil rights hit a minor snag, lol? Equality isn’t near good enough, we can do better. Start with the lives of your family before you take others, Randy

  13. 90% of the guns *Sent to America for testing* are from America.

The Federales don’t send a gun unless they think it might be from the US to begin with.

Only a small amount of the guns used in crimes down Mexico way are actually sent for testing.

This myth was nailed once when Hilary tried to pass it off and now Obama, (who certainly knows it’s false) is trying to revive it.
