“The [Israeli] army announced on Sunday that the firearm Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah proudly presented Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with last week went out of service in 1974,” the Jerusalem Post reports. “Nasrallah himself told Ahmadinejad during the latter’s visit to Lebanon that the gun was used by an IDF [Israeli Defence Force] soldier during the 2006 Lebanon War.” Referring to the photo of the presentation, an IDF spokeswoman pronounced “This is almost certainly an FN Fal 7.62 rifle, which has not been used by the IDF since 1974. We can therefore conclude that it was not taken from the Second Lebanon War.”
