How do you clowns seriously argue that a state like Idaho, with its 2022 homicide rate of 2.0 per 100,000 people, less than half of what California has, is “failing at protecting [its] communities”? Seems like it is doing a pretty damn good job at keeping people safe overall.

It kinda seems like your standard for “safety” is “do what we say”, not the actual results. That’s why you give violent hellholes like Illinois and Maryland high grades despite their horrid results. They didn’t actually solve anything, but they pass what you demand!

Yes, the southern states also do terribly, but they also had sky-high homicide rates when their gun laws were much stricter.

  2. In our defense in the South, you all know good and damn well why we have high crime rates and where they are. If it weren’t for the cities and all their Leftist bullshit, we would have a much lower crime rate. But, I suppose that’s true of everywhere. I’m so embarrassed my state doesn’t get the Red Mark of Awesome from these clowns, we really need to get our shit together and get that Giffords “F.”

    • The crime rates in northern cities have skyrocketed because the white Left/atheists hates the traditional family of one man and one woman. They don’t believe a father’s love and discipline is necessary to raise his children.

      Mine (OH) doesn’t either, apparently, even though we have permitless carry, we are a home rule state EXCEPT FOR GUN CONTROL ORDINANCES, and we’re low crime in the conservative rural counties but high crime in the leftist metro counties. Huh, I wonder what their criteria are? Maybe it’s legal pot and unlimited abortion or stuff like that?

      Kinda reminds me of my mom when we were kids. Three boys growing up on a small family farm, and we were always, er, having adventures. Mom would reach a tipping point, and proclaim to the sky that one of these days she was going to go screaming down the road. I don’t know why she did that, because doing so just gave us a goal.

  5. I recently learned that the Psychology community has determined that 1 out of every 100 people are psychopaths. In case you are unaware, psychopaths are extreme narcisists who only care about themselves and have effectively ZERO concern/empathy for others.

    I can only wonder if our policy makers (both politicians and business CEOs) number about 1 out of every 100 people–and how that might relate to the fact that 1 out of every 100 people are psychopaths. It sure would explain a LOT of what we see.

        I don’t buy that: I believe “it’s” primarily about millions of Americans who went several decades in prosperity, where the majority of people, even in the large metro areas, generally were law-abiding regardless of race, gender or religion; were pretty much on the same page as to what it meant “to be an American”; had some semblance of a higher-order deity/religion to help guide them rather than government laws; and lived in an era where policing and the judicial system was fairly effective in maintaining order in a fair manner.

        In my younger years during the 1950s/early ‘60s, most Americans believed “crime doesn’t pay”. Today, our elected officials and others in high appointed positions prove that it does-every day. We know it’s wrong, but we allow it as a society.

        It is very difficult to convince people who grew up in an era of not having to worry about their personal survival to begin taking responsibility for it themselves. That is the primary reason for the Second Amendment- the ability for one to determine their own course of action and life within the confines of the Constitution, and right from wrong. Altering what has been years of public acceptance takes time and patience. And for God’s sake- no one should accept that any governing body would ever willingly surrender control or regulatory powers- those are the very things government thrives on when The People are not willing to “govern” themselves.

        • believe it or not there was a time when few if any of us carried guns around…we’re talking handguns here, not rifles or shotguns…that all began to change in the sixties when the idea of getting a gun permit became plausible….and they became easier to obtain….now, of course… its just routine….wasn’t always like it is now…more’s the pity…better times….

    Supposedly a town 32 miles from me is the 8th most dangerous city in this state. I’ve never had no trouble there, some stuff does get stole but it’s not nearly as dangerous as some other towns that are not even listed.
    Isnt it a coincidence that .giv is thinking of put ignition interlocks into all the new cars to prevent drunk driving and Slo Joe’s motorcade just happens to get smashed by a drunk driver.

Their(left’s) action’s are somehow justified and a little injury and death is just the price for less guns. The left such as the politicians and orgs such as the Gifford’s should be the people held accountable. Perpetrators and those who empower the perpetrators should be held accountable not good citizens for exercising a constitutional Right. The left is the very definition of hypocrisy.

  29. Funny- why doesn’t Pennsylvania fail? We have highish murder rates (Philly gets real bad on a Saturday night) and pretty lax gun laws (concealed carry is pretty easy, AR’s are legal, the only downside is no Constitutional Carry, and no Ghost Guns)

  36. I was taught gun safety over 60 years ago and the same principles apply today and thye need no extra help.
    1. Every gun is loaded until you make sure it isn’t.
    2. Never aim a gun at anything or anyone you don’t aim to shoot and kill.
    3. Keep guns out of reach of children and others who have not learned the proper handling and use of guns.
    4. Keep them out of reach of anyone else you deem may be dangerous with a gun.
