Last week we read between the lines of a CNN article that hinted the Chipman nomination isn’t looking good. Now, with the number two Democrat in the Senate acknowledging “issues” with Chipman to a Dem-friendly outlet like Politico, that seals the deal. Chipman’s nomination is officially in deep sh!t.
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Monday that “there are a lot of issues” with President Joe Biden’s pick to oversee the nation’s firearm regulations.
The Senate has yet to move forward on David Chipman’s nomination to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. A handful of moderate Democrats, including Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.), have yet to say whether they’ll support his nomination.
Durbin acknowledged Monday that the whip count “is not where we want it yet, but there’s always a chance.”
Get back to us when his nomination has been officially pulled. The communists never give up.

The bigger issue, IMHO, is that whoever Biden’s handlers appoint next will be worse (or at least as bad). We’ll successfully oppose one authoritarian fascist, and they’ll gladly put up another. What we SHOULD be striving for is the elimination of the BATFE entirely. Chipman is a symptom, not the disease. The authoritarian Left is the disease.
Pretty much my concern. Would make sense to start with something outrageous then present something almost as bad (or worse when unknowns are factored in) in a way that seems reasonable enough to let slide.

Just because he was sworn in, and lives in the White House, does not make him the president. I contend that Biden is a PINO (president in name only).
When I have to call him anything besides just “Biden” (after which I have to rinse the foul taste out of my mouth), I call him the FICUS: the Fraud-In-Chief. Or just “that potted plant in the Oval Office.”
It’s more than a “not my president” kind of thing. It’s a “we have an occupation, not a presidency” kind of thing.
