The guys at Cold Steel aren’t exactly your bog standard knife manufacturers. From their prolific videos of slicing the crap out of dead animals to their apparent love of pirate costumes and old guns (see? gun related!) they certainly made quite a splash at IWA in Germany. And not only were they sharp dressed men, but they had something new to show off.
Their newest offering is the Magnum Warcraft Tanto, a $409.99 investment in stabbyness. The thing is massive, and according to Cold Steel, will support the entire weight of a car without breaking. And even if you bounce said car up and down a few times, the most damage you’ll do is snapping the grip panels off. Which is pretty awesome.
Oh, and they also had live knife fights.
Speaking of guns. What kind of rules does Germany have for black powder muzzle loaders such as the pirate guns above.
As for that tanto wuzzit. When I go orc hunting I’ll check into it.
That’s not a knife…now THAT’S a knife. Or a SWORD.
Cold Steel is always making some cool stuff. There’s a bat they make that I want so bad. Of course have to have one of their Katana Blade’s. This knife right here looks like it can slice through brick!
I’m sure we’ll find out.
Never quite know it Cold Steel are the biggest trolls of the internet knife culture or not.
I applaud their ability to have fun at work. Good for them.
I didn’t know the Cold Steel guys are pastafarians. 🙂
You. I like you.
Going by the look of them they certainly have a corporate culture of indulging in Carbs…
Cold Steel has some pretty decent values at the lower end of their line, too. The Finn Bear and the Bushman are both well-made outdoor knives with a very useful size and blade pattern. Not really designed for fighting zombies, trolls, and orcs, but you don’t normally run into very many of those when you are camping. And for those limited encounters, God made John Moses Browning’s .45acp 1911.
A well made sword causes more devastating injuries with a single blow than a single .45. Like severed limbs, gaping chest wounds, cleft palates…The greatest benefit of the .45 is range.
The sword is less useful if you are old and/or weak, and the other advantage of the .45 is that you get multiple hits with only the press of the trigger finger. You also will find yourself interacting with the police fairly often if you are wearing a sword – sort of like carrying a shotgun or AR.
Magnum Warcraft Tanto…
+20 durability
+10 stabbyness
Should go good on my Orc Rogue 😉
That photo makes me miss the Village People.
Probably need more practice at the range or just, you know, get a little closer.
Looks like a Connecticut firearm.
Gotta luv Pirates..the biker gangs of the sea.
That top pic…
…If one didn’t particularly mind getting stabbed or cut, those guys would probably be fvckloads of fun to drink with.
