Despite the gun control law he just signed and the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, President Joe Biden told the nation we wants more still gun control. He wants to ban guns.

President Biden demanded Congress reinstate the failed 1994 Assault Weapons Ban to usher in a new era of strict gun control to deny law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment rights.

“We’re living in a country awash in weapons of war,” the president said. “I am determined to ban these weapons again, and high capacity magazines that hold 30 rounds, and let mass shooters fire hundreds of bullets in a matter of minutes. I’m not going to stop until we do it.”

That’s the same 10-year federal ban on both modern sporting rifles (MSRs) and magazines with a carrying capacity over 10 cartridges that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) concluded did little to nothing to reduce crime.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) found in their own assessment that if the ban is renewed, the “impact on gun violence is likely to be small at best, and perhaps too small for reliable measurement.” That’s because the DOJ’s annual Uniform Crime Report (UCR) consistently shows that murders from all rifles – not just MSRs – are less than that of murders committed with knives, clubs and fists. Even the left-leaning Politifact rated that “Mostly True” after parsing the data and noted that some murder reports don’t include the type of weapon used in a murder.

But facts and the Constitution be damned. President Biden wants his failed solution back and he wants it now.

Ignore & Deflect

It’s not surprising that the president is demanding it. NSSF warned it was coming back in 2019, when then-candidate Biden said from the debate stage, “Our enemy is the gun manufacturers, not the NRA, the gun manufacturers.”

President Biden, speaking in The White House Rose Garden, claimed the recent Bipartisan Safer Communities Act was “real progress, but more has to be done.” He blamed the firearm industry for indifference, saying, “We all know a lot of the reasons: gun lobby, gun manufacturers, special interest money, the rise of hyper-partisan tribal politics in the country where we don’t debate the issues on the merits and we just rather turn on each other from our corners and attack the other side.”

That ignores the reality. The firearm industry has been leading on bringing true gun safety to the forefront. The Real Solutions. Safer Communities campaign includes Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) partnerships to prevent illegal straw purchases and improve security at firearm retailers.

The firearm industry’s Project ChildSafe initiative has provided over 40 million free firearm safety kits – including locking devices – for over 15,000 law enforcement agencies in all 50 states and five U.S. territories. It was NSSF’s leadership on FixNICS that inspired the Fix NICS Act, which compelled federal agencies and incentivized states to submit all disqualifying records to the FBI so the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is accurate.

But the president ignores all of that. Instead, he spreads fear and fumbles through the facts. He claimed, “A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body.” That followed his previous demands that 9mm handguns – among the most popular sold today – should also be banned.

Now, Vice President Kamala Harris is pushing for a ban on any firearm that’s “intentionally designed to kill.” A remarkable statement coming from a lawyer who served as her state’s attorney general and on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

Perhaps she hasn’t had time to read the Bruen decision in which the Supreme Court held – again – that the Second Amendment protects the pre-existing right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.

Not So Fast

The Biden administration is ignoring the fact that Americans – of all races, creeds, colors and all walks of life – are purchasing firearms in record numbers. Over 14 million Americans purchased a firearm for the first time in 2020 and 2021. Background checks for the sale of a gun shattered previous records in 2020 at over 21 million. Another 18.5 million were completed in 2021. For 35 months straight, there have been over 1 million background checks for gun sales.

A recent NPR/Ipsos poll showed that not even half of gun owners would entertain the idea of a ban on MSRs.

“This NPR/Ipsos survey of American gun owners…harbor deep distrust of government suggesting the barriers that exist to more actions on guns,” said Ipsos senior vice president Chris Jackson.

Jerone Davis, an African American pastor running for Congress in Arizona, released a television ad showing why Americans need the choice to protect themselves and their families with MSRs.

“Democrats like to say that nobody needs an AR-15 for self-defense, that no one could possibly need all 30 rounds,” Davis explains in the video. “But when this rifle is the only thing standing between your family and a dozen angry Democrats in Klan hoods, you just might need that semi-automatic, and all 30 rounds.”

President Biden wants to eliminate that choice. Vice President Harris wants anything that could kill to be banned. The guns are the first part. What they really want to control is you.

  1. I honestly don’t think this doddering old fool will get what he wants. Just look at the polls, guns are not a serious issue with the voting public who are straggling to pay for food, gad and in many cases; rent. I think Bruen ruined their chances and the roadblocks they’re throwing up will do nothing but piss off the Court.

    • These politicians who keep asking why anyone needs a so-called weapon of war are the reason we do need weapons that will allow us to go to war. If they ever succeed in disarming us, they will then be free to force us into tyranny. Our Forefathers saw this because they had lived under the tyranny of the King of England. Hence, they gave us the 2nd Amendment.

      • This is the exact truth. Your Founders didn’t dream up the 2A from scratch. Far from it. It has long and established history before ever the Mayfield dropped anchor. My ‘founders’, limp, wet euro noodleheads that they were, have stolen that legal security from us long ago, and they continue, bit by bit, until they can see/orchestrate an opportunity to go full tyranny as they are attempting now. This isn’t something new, it’s always been the way, for millennia, even hundreds of millennia. That they want to control us is also the exact truth. Every aspect; how we live, travel, work, eat, medicate ourselves, communicate, socialize, manage our finances, how much we can earn, how we raise our families and educate our children. How else will they rob us even more thoroughly than they already are? They want our wealth in their pockets and the entirety of the remainder of it under their control. And they are easily half way there already. They can see the endzone. And to realize their unspoken goals they must have a monopoly on violence and the ability to maintain it. They want a return to the fuedal system and to aristocratic dynasties. So yeah, go ahead, surrender your arms. Do it for the children. Do it for your children. Do it for their children. Do it for Public Safety™. I don’t fucking think so.

    • They’ll keep doing what they’ve always done, rabidly throw buckets of excrement against the wall. If even a spec sticks for even a little while, it’s a win for them. As long as it takes the courts so long to respond, they’ll keep doing it.

  2. Dimmest of the DIMS…after supporting the scamdemic,BlackLootersMurder & Antifools you expect we’ll all hand in our rifles? Poopy pants is dumber than we thought🙄

  3. Of course he does. Every tyrant and their hangers-on throughout history have done their best to disarm their subjects. Biden, et al is no different. It’s so glaringly obvious why, there’s no need to explain it.

  4. The government engages in unconstitutional behavior routinely.
They want you disarmed so that when they engage in this behavior, they have a monopoly on violence and you are powerless to stop them.

    • Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. NO GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE GIVEN ABSOLUTE TRUST.

    • Honestly most people with a little creativity and a trip to the hardware store can be more violent and cause more damage than a Ranger with his m4.

      • Today is the Anniversary of the Bastille Day attack in Nice, France. Where a Terrorist drove a large trucks through a crowd of revelers killing 86. 10 of which were children and teenagers and injuring over 300. It doesn’t necessarily take creativity to commit Mass Murder. It just takes a willingness to commit EVIL. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke (1729-97) Irish statesman born in Dublin, …

  5. Well I want Elected officials to be held criminally responsible for passing laws and orders that are found to violate the Constitution but I doubt either one of us is going to get what we want.

  6. The purpose and intent of the second amendment when you boil it all down is simply about shooting tyrants in their face. The weapon systems these people are trying to ban are the most suitable tools force such a job, so therefore I will never be giving mine up.

  7. Our enemy is the Marxists that have infiltrated our government. Remember the government that our founding fathers warned us about……………

  8. Begin to put riders on each democrat bill.

Things like “Drug testing for people receiving govt assistance”

Requirements of responsibility for govt assistance

Requirements that place the ability of victims to sue organizations and governments that ban guns but people get injured. Say NYC has a gun ban…Jim becomes a victim of a violent crime. He has a history that would have allowed him to have a conceal carry or gun ownership. Then Jim is allowed to sue the city for triple damages and punitive damages .

Say ten or fifteen crimes later…the city is broke.

  9. They most certainly will not stop even if they got everything they wanted.
Look no further than the UK where they cannot sell spoons to anyone under 18 and chefs knives have rounded points.

  10. Fact is many of our elected officials are power mad tyrant wannabes, this includes many of the Republicans as well as nearly all of the Democrats. We have an opportunity to rid ourselves of many of these monsters in the Fall, pray that we can oust enough of them to make a difference or I fear our Constitution and our Sacred Liberty may be lost.

      • Term limits for congresscritters and senators would require a constitutional amendment. And that is not likely to happen. On top of which, such limits seem to have limited efficacy. IN California, which h as term limits, assemblymen serve out their terms then run for the Senate. When they term out of the Senate, they run for state-wide office such as Secretary of State, or any of the other secretarial positions, or perhaps even Governor. It is almost lifetime employment. After that, they run for federal elected positions. Being a politician is a business, an occupation.

  11. “What they really want to control is you.”

This what I have been saying for years.

That’s the whole goal of gun control, its never been about the guns – its always been about control of people, guns are just the excuse they use.

  12. There’s a whole lot more devastating pistol’s than a 9mm. That’s just the most popular, with the cheapest most widely available ammunition. It’s all about disarmament so we can’t do anything when we are told to eat shit. Come and get them, I’ve had a pretty good run, getting old anyway. Come on down I’ll give you all the lead I have.

  13. What did you expect the democrats to do follow the law and constitution? Get real they are lawless unless they get their way. They ignore the eviction ban, even saying they couldn’t do it. The illegal lockdowns and mandates.
They are completely out of control criminals.

  14. CATCH A 22 ….WELL NOW
SHOULD HAVE TO BE 21 OR OLDER TO BUY AR OR AK , AND 7-10 ROUND MAG ENOUGH TO HUNT WITH OR SHOOT TARGETS … CRAZIES RUIN IT ALL FOR US ,, SO IF BAN AR OR AK ,, JOIN MILITARY TO SHOOT AN AR .. ONE THING FOR SURE BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS , NOT ALLOWED ON THE STREET …

    • Hey, NTexas, It’s not about hunting or recreational shooting. Don’t be a fool. We have enough fools already in our government.

    • NTEXASS… HOWSABOUTS YOUS GO JUMP OFF DA CLIFF SOMEWEARS… SO WE CAN HERE YOUS SCREAMIN ALL DA WAYS DOWN… LIKE WE DOES HEAR ON TTAGS!!

      • Why you shouldn’t drink and post.

CAPS LOCK gets sticky with the spilled booze.

    • NTexas. You do realize the term “Assault weapon” was made up to frighten children and limousine liberals into believing a souped up .22 is somehow more dangerous than your old lever gun? Or that the AR was never adopted by any military anywhere, but the bolt rifles, pump shotguns and even lever action rifles have done military duty?
Ever wonder why the nutcases who choose to use the AR pattern rifles make their choice? Media hype. Tell someone that a rifle that isn’t considered potent enough for hunting deer, is somehow a weapon of mass destruction long enough, some damn fool will believe it.
Oh, I did over 20 years in the Army, does that qualify me to have a light rifle? Or should I be forced to use a heavier caliber rifle that was an actual weapon of war. Such as my bolt action Mauser that has the Imperial German proof marks. Or perhaps my GI surplus Garand rifle.

  15. To the gun owners with Trump derangement syndrome. You just keep voting for Democrats.

    • Or just don’t vote. Since many say voting is useless. You could have Andrew Gillum running FL now. Instead of that nasty republican christian who has sez in the missionary position with the lights turned off.

“Democrat Hit With 21 FELONY CHARGES For Fraud, DeSantis Opponent NEARLY WON Now Ron Leads GOP 2024” video 33 min long

  16. Whatever President Joe Burden, we understand the need to deflect away from your historically low poll numbers, the economy, that blundering military pull-out, heck EVERYTHING Biden has done during his administration has been a dismal failure.

More gun control will just be more failure.

As Former president Obama said: “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f… things up.”

  17. After they ban private ownership of firearms, I expect they will go after homeowners who use improvised weapons (e.g. baseball bats) to fight off home invaders. Their primary target is the use of force by private individuals in self defense. Guns are a secondary target and then only because they are the most efficient tool yet invented for crime victims to defend themselves.

    • Yes, the Canadian model comes to mind. You do not have a right to self defense with a firearm at all, which is why all handguns may be banned. You can only use proportional force against a criminal attacker. The PM said so himself.

      • Yeah but I bet if a nutcase went after the PM with a baseball bat and was whacking him, he’d be shot down.

        • Apologize while clubbing his sorry ass to death. That way they’ll think you’re a local and only shoot you a few times.

      • Mark, it’s perfectly legal up here in the northern colonies to defend yourself with any weapon, including both long gunms and handgunms. Yer just not ‘allowed’ to have one accessible to you in yer moment of need. Clever, aren’t they?

        • Hey, I’m just quoting your PM. I know nothing, except that if you use a firearm to defend yourself, you are likely to get charged with various assault and firearms charges, from what I’ve read. Even worse if you kill the bastard. I seem to remember a homeowner who used a shotgun to defend against arsonists throwing Molotov cocktails at his house and on his cars. He was the one charges were levied against.

        • Mark, yeah, I know. The individual you speak of, a retired gent in Ontario, came out of his house in his undies in the early am with a 357 revolver and put a couple in the dirt behind the fleeing masked homies who threw a molotov at his penned up shepherd (missed) then started his house on fire with another one, screaming “yer gonna die” on his newly installed security cams (an ongoing argument over his neighbours free ranging chickens had apparently gone bad). This guy was also a retired firearms instructor. The rcmp refused to press any charges but the prosecution, looking for a feather in their crown, tried to nail him for “improper storage”, i.e.: tried to show he didn’t have enough time to unlock his gunm from a safe, load it, get downstairs/outside and chase the unfortunate victims off. The prosecution failed but it cost hom his life savings to fight it. Nice, eh? Ian Tomlinson is his name. He had just retired and moved there the previous year, I think.

  18. “President Joe Biden told the nation we wants” – slo Joey doesn’t even know what the day of the week is.

“Perhaps she hasn’t had time to read” – you think?

  19. “We’re living in a country awash in weapons of war,” the president said.

Just the way the Founding Fathers intended it. Except not really, where’s my MANPAD’s and ATGM’s?

  20. Get ready.
Covids going to hit hard come around voting time.
    Lock downs.
    Mail in ballots.
    Democrats win again.

  21. I still cannot believe they are allowing this man to continue as president. He met with jewish leaders and while they were all reaching out to shake his hand he fist bumped them. Of course the white house played it off as “trying to minimize contact due to current COVID protocols” of which there are fucking zero. Not one person was distanced, not one person wearing a mask… nothing. This fucking idiot is senile.

And they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Trump was laughable on the speeches but Biden is just worrying in every other aspect that involved critical thinking.

      • Yea, that’s probably worse. Much worse. She’s hiding it good now because she has to, but she’ll use it as a run for President soon enough. She can always keep trying until she’s 90…

  22. If I were the COO of Hornady, Winchester or Speer I’d start cranking out “9mm Lung Blower” branded ammo as fast as the factory could possibly make them. I mean 3 9 hour overlapping shifts and having to load that shit with a backhoe.

  23. That picture of Biden at the top of the page….Reminds me of Uncle Sam, but instead of “Uncle Sam wants YOU,” it is his evil twin saying “Uncle Joe wants YOUR GUNS.”

  24. I don’t really expect much of any help coming from the Republicans in this case either.
They have NEVER been able to hold the hard line. Way too many RINO’s in the party.
When they say , we’re in negotiations, that means their ready to cave.
