When you need the support of upstate rubes to hold onto your Senate seat, you say one thing. When you’re running for president, competing with other Democrats to demonstrate how many restrictions on the Second Amendment you can propose, you say something else.

On the question of outright banning certain firearms for cosmetic features, bullets of any random size, or banning magazines holding an arbitrary number of cartridges, I am adamantly opposed and do not believe that laws should be based on random limits just for the sake of limiting gun ownership or usage.

Furthermore the attempt to limit the purchase of firearms to arbitrary time periods – such as “one-gun-a-month” – will not solve any crimes and will only [curtail] the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens.

I share your concerns about these and other attempts that could contribute to the slippery slope of government confiscation of people’s firearms based on the arbitrary whim of politics and public opinion.

  1. There are pictures of her holding guns and shooting them. The 60 minutes program broadcasted them. She is just another “guns for me but not for you”, hypocrite pig. She and her family will always have guns.

  2. This is why I trust Democrat politicians even less than the Republicans. Most politicians have no core beliefs, that’s why they should always be viewed with suspicion.

    • This is why I don’t trust politicians. Most politicians have no core beliefs, that’s why they should always be viewed with suspicion.

      There, fixed it for you.

  3. So what if politician X is less than honest?
I’ve already personally identified with politician X and have identified the perceived enemies of politician X as my personal enemies therefore politician X can do no wrong.

If it weren’t for cultish tendencies in primitive humans and confirmation bias in modern humans these people wouldn’t have any supporters at all.

  4. Won’t matter too much in the end I think. She’s not going to be the democratic nominee.
She’ll have to go back to her old job of lying and ignoring the needs of the country with the other left field senators on the agenda train.

    • Is there really anybody out there who really believes that she should be sitting down with any world leaders to negotiate on our behalf?

    • Wow, I’m sad to say I’d never seen that.
That was amazingly powerful. Thank you for sharing that with us.

      • Most people haven’t. She gave this testimony just before the Clinton Assault Weapon Ban was passed, so unless you’re in your 50’s or older I’m not surprised that you’d not seen or even heard about her or the mass shooting she survived, and this testimony. You might, however, recognize some of the faces on the Committee. A couple of them are still in office, and still trying to take our defenses away from us.

We’ve been fighting this battle for far longer than the general population realizes.

        • Yup. Current wisdom is Bush bad, Bust let AWB expire and now people are dying. Obama good. Obama tried to save us all but evil Republicans wouldn’t let him.
History is shorter and shorter these days. Makes me wonder why a group of people unconcerned, uninterested or unaware that the past exists at all are so obsessed with background checks.

    • Thank you for sharing this video. Blast from the past-no pun intended, and yes, I remember this woman’s testimony. Powerful indeed!

  5. Careful senator…you crossed the Clinton crime cartel😄You could end up like a certain jewish pedophile!

  6. “Kirsten Gillibrand Was Against More Gun Control Before She Was For It”

“Kirsten Gillibrand Was Against More Gun Control Before it was convenient”

    There, fixed it for you…

  7. Yeah well as hard as it may be to believe the democrats used to be for border security and immigration control but that went out the window in the last dozen years.

  8. Why does TTAG continue to post about Can’t I Dates who will Never get the Nomination. First it was Swallow Well. Now the Hilda Beast Clone. Focus Focus Focus. The Real Danger lies with the Crazy Uncle Joe/Camel Harris Ticket. They need each other. Just like Obama needed Biden. Biden is/was the Safe Name recognition democrats needed for Obama and Biden needs Camel for the Socialism angle. She will ride on whatever will get her farther up the ladder. Knowing Biden is only good for one term. Just a prediction mind you but, I’ve watched these things for many decades. The game never changes. Much will happen over the next few months. Many decisions will be made in regards to the future of OUR Nation and the Freedoms We all hold Dear. Perseverance and Fortitude will be required in many ways. There is much Evil about and We all know from where it comes. Keep Your Powder Dry. The Clock Continues to Hold at 3 Minutes Till Midnight.

    • The problem with your analysis, no matter how well it would sit with the DNC, is that Biden keeps shooting himself in the foot, as a cartoon in my local paper represented, and KH’s polls have been dropping despite all the backing from CNN (as their favored candidate). I just read this morning that his campaign is in damage control mode after he pissed off a bunch of Hispanic business owners. He is his own worst enemy. Think Jeb Bush for a comparison. Makes me wonder if he really wants the job.

    • As bad as Joe and Kamala are, Warren and Bernie are even more dangerous. Bernie doesn’t stand a chance, if for no other reason than punishment for running against Clinton last time. Joe and Kamala are pliable, and will change positions to whatever they think will get them elected / reelected. Warren has been very consistent and would wreck this country just as fast as Bernie would.

  9. Well, you know what they say “if it wasn’t for double standards they wouldn’t have any standards”.

  10. Bloomberg and Soros have made gun control a litmus test for Democrats.

You can find one or two Dems in highly contested districts who will pay some small amount of lip service to the 2A by way of not supporting a full on Australian “solution.” But this is not 20 or 30 years ago when there were a few dozen “blue dogs” and a few dozen sensible Dems.

We tend to focus on small to moderate mistakes or occasional minor nonsense from the GOP or Trump but none of that holds a candle to what will happen if the Democrats get 3% more of the Senate and and the White House. I’m not happy with bumpstock move and redflag — but that is not In the same league as reversing Heller and federal legislation putting us in line with Australia.
