I love puns.

Hopefully, loyal TTAG readers can sympathize with me when I say that wedding season has ruined my shooting year. Seven weddings has meant that I’ve been to the range only a handful of times in 2013, and at one point, had every weekend for four months spoken for. So when RF and Nick shot me an email on Friday asking if I could cover an event on Saturday in nearby Lockhart, TX, I typed out, “Sorry. Wedding season in effect. Can’t do anything.” Then I checked my calendar and realized that I was wrong – I actually had a weekend free to go shoot guns! Make the jump for gun porn and words . . .

And what a way to return to the range. Here’s the list of what was available courtesy of Liberty Suppressors and SilencerShop.

  • M16 in 5.56 (Full-auto with a 11.5” barrel)
  • AR-15 in 5.56 (16”)
  • FNP Tactical in .45acp
  • Glock 17 in 9mm
  • Sig P226 DA in 9mm
  • Leonidas (AR15 in .300BLK with integral suppressor)
  • Mjolnar (Rem 700 in .300 whisper with integral suppressor)
  • S&W M&P15/22 in .22LR
  • Ruger MKII in .22LR
  • Glock 27 in .40S&W
  • Custom bolt action .308
  • Uzi subgun in 9mm

Even with supersonic loads, this gun was very quiet.

I was very impressed with both Liberty and SilencerShop. The staff was friendly and incredibly safe during a very busy range day. This was my first opportunity to put hands on suppressors fitted to guns identical to what I own. I haven’t yet made the jump into suppressor ownership, but after this weekend I think a rimfire can for my 10/22 and my wife’s Mark III are in order.

  1. i was just looking at their mystic suppressor this last weekend. did you have a chance to try that suppressor?

    • Hi Drew,

Looking at some of the pics, I think Tyler did (or maybe he shot the titanium version of it, the Infinity). I just wanted to jump in and mention that I’m going to do a full write-up on the Mystic in the next week or two. Right now, there are 11 videos on my YT channel with the Mystic on various guns, from .22 to 9mm to .223/5.56. Definitely cool to be able to use it on lots of calibers!

Don’t forget, Liberty’s awesome Mystic suppressor, which is technically a 9mm can, can be run on a HUGE range of calibers from .223/5.56 to .300 blk to .22 LR and so many more. Since you’re spending $200 on the tax no matter what, plus waiting 6 to 9 months, it’s pretty nice to get a suppressor that can work on so many guns!

Now that I’ve put a few hundred rounds through mine and have run it on, I believe, 8 different guns, I’m going to put together a full review in the next couple weeks…

P.S. — that looked like a fun day!!!

    • Unfortunately, I didn’t bring any .300 BLK and neither did anyone else. I was actually disappointed I didn’t get to hear it run.

  3. Tyler, when you said you had seven weddings, I thought you were auditioning for your own version of “Sister Wives.”

    Is my face red.
