Massachusetts Rep. Ed Markey has launched his campaign for the Democratic Senate primary with a new TV ad. Reflecting the temper of the times, risking the temper of Massachusetts gun owners, Markey’s come out swinging on gun control. huffingtonpost.com reckons Markey was taking a jab at his Democratic rival who “once voted against an assault weapons ban as a member of the Massachusetts State House.” In fact, both men are pro-civilian disarmament all day long. And the fact that the HuffPo doesn’t even mention their Republican rivals speaks volumes about the future of modern sporting rifles (and the rest) in the Bay State. Suffice it to say it’s a 10-round mag of not good. [h/t DM]

  1. I’ve got one word for Markey – TEXAS – And I’m glad he ain’t in it. Ok that’s eight words. Stay put dude, and Don’t Mess with Texas.

  2. its the dem primaries…the MA senate candidates will probably trip over themselves racing to grab the most guns. i would not even be surprised if somebody got them on hidden camera admitting they want to ban handguns.

  3. Ed Markey wants guns off our streets…and so do I. Whenever I see a gun on the street, I pick it up off the ground, get it out of harm’s way, and take it somewhere safe. No gun should just be left on the street. I mean, come on people, show some humanity here.

  4. It’s particularly sad to see this in Massachusetts, where the revolution began. That these people have the gall to celebrate “Patriot’s Day” – April 19, Battles of Lexington and Concord – really, really makes me sick. What they are trying to do to the citizens of today is exactly what the British were trying to do to them in 1775. April 19 should be a day of demonstrations and protests by the “Patriots” of today.

    • If it comes from Mass-a-chew-sh_t, you can believe it is Kennedy inspired. Nothing good comes from there. Not even maple syrup, it always has the flavor of having been shot through someones nostrils.
