A Michigan State Police Public Information Officer has found himself in the hot seat after a tweet quoting him making disparaging remarks about concealed pistol license holders appeared in recent days. F/Lt. Mike Shaw, a public information officer (PIO), made a statement that reflected very poorly on his agency. The MSP Second District PIO reportedly said:’

Here is another example of a CPL holder not being able to handle their emotions because traffic was slowed due to a crash. This suspect lost their cool, grabbed an accessible hand gun and put others at risk. We are lucky he didnā€™t pull the trigger.

The reaction of the public has been swift and severely critical of Lt. Mike Shaw, whose name doesn’t appear in Michigan’s online public employee salary database.

One person asked MSP to provide statistics of crimes committed by CPL holders compared to crimes committed by police.

Another helpfully pointed out police spouses have a four times greater likelihood of domestic violence than the average spouse.

Others provided examples like these of alleged criminal misconduct by MSP officers.

But the really spicy replies came from Fenix Ammunition and Firearms Policy Coalition.

If this happened in a state run by a decent governor, Lt. Mike Shaw would find himself out of the Public Information Officer gig and put back on the road – if he was lucky. But given how Lt. Shaw works for the wretched Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, he’ll probably get a promotion and a raise for denigrating and disparaging the good people of Michigan to have carry licenses.

    • The line between criminal and cop is being blurred on purpose. Just as it was in feudalism our society will just have the weak being subjugated by the strong. Doesn’t really matter if it’s the local PD or P. Stone Nation.

      All good peasants will turn in their swords and know their place. If you have means through daughters or taxes you can try to align yourself with whoever seems the least abusive.

    • Flyweight women LEOs like her are the reason police are now taught to routinely go to the gun than rather going hands on. You can’t have different rules for men versus women LEOs (because men and women have equal capabilities says the woke experts!) so now they all quickly go to the gun to enforce their AUTHORITAY.

Like those two women cops that pumped over 45 rounds into an apartment because they saw the shadow of someone carrying a gun, hit their target only five times, and the person walked out with assistance. Plus, the person the two c*s fired at was a resident of the apartment!

  6. If there’s two things cops love more than their pensions and qualified immunity it’s self-medicating and wife beating.

    • Don’t forget about tasing innocent and helpless citizens. They don’t beat them up with truncheons anymore because they’re so unfit they can’t run twenty feet.

  14. I watched 2 off-duty MSPs try to instigate a fight with a restaurant patron while their uniformed buddies stood out side the door waiting for the call. We’re talking a family style restaurant and customers.

    That was the moment they taught me to never trust them.

      • Once again, the Truth About Guns posters come through for me. One question though, getting back on topic, why the heck to cops/troopers despise law-abiding citizens carrying with the approved permit/license? Why the heck would plainclothes want to start a fight in a restaurant, with a gamut of witnesses in said same, knowing the outcome would be filmed with witnesses to counter the plainclothes statements?
