Somebody at the Mossberg booth thought it would be a good idea to stuff a Surefire 60-round quad stack magazine into an MVP bolt-action rifle.  Because they couldn’t find the Beta C-Mag. Works for me.

  1. I wondered when someone would make a bolt action .223 that would take AR mags or a .308 that takes FAL mags.

  2. If someone molded some type of flat base onto the bottom of the mag, they could use it as a monopod for shooting from a benchrest. A really low benchrest.

  3. I like the idea of a bolt gun that takes at mags but can you please tell Mossberg to pump the brakes, they are trying way too hard and doing it wrong. A magpul 20 rounder would be way more practical and better looking too.

    • All the other display guns had 30-rounders on them. I agree that a 20-rounder would look, and work, even better.

  4. Correct me if I’m wrong, but re: the comments about drums, 20s, etc., if it takes a Surefire 60, wouldn’t it take any AR mag? I, however, do not want to get Carpal Tunnel from running a bolt 60 times on the trot, reload, ad infinitum.

  5. Years from now we will be saying “Remember when bolt guns had only 5 rounds with the odd exception? But no more than 10.” And our kids will stare at us like we’re dinosaurs.

  6. I pretty much can guarantee you a SureFire rep walked over and asked them to display one for them, It happened at the NRA 2011 at the booth I was working at, one came over and asked us to use it and we could keep it after the show for personal use

  7. I want one of these. This is a pretty awesome idea. But why can’t they make a nice walnut finish stock, instead of these funky colors?

  8. I like that someone figured out how to make a bolt action that would use AR-15 magazines. Now if they had only made it a straight-pull bolt action…. 🙂

    • Too easy. Barrel without gas port, all AR parts minus gas block, gas tube. Use a side charging handle (reciprocating style).
